Vintage View Vednesday Elco 2007

Can you believe it is May 1? How in the world did we get here so quickly? We arrived here one day at a time, but the days sure seem to run together into a big glob.

This week's Vintage View takes us back to Elco Family Campmeeting in Elco, Illinois in 2007. This was our first visit to Elco although we had heard about Elco hill for many years. We have been back to preach twice more since then and we are looking forward to preaching the day services there this coming July.

Our first visit to Elco comes with an interesting side story that has nothing to do with these pictures. I had been asked to preach another camp meeting in 2007 and normally I would have said "Yes" without much thought. But I felt like I should pray and wait to give my answer. I still thought the answer would be Yes.

After a few weeks, I received the call to preach the days of the Elco meeting. I had preached the other meeting before, but not Elco. I really wanted to go to the first meeting, but the moment they called me from Elco, I knew we were supposed to accept the invitation from Elco.

We showed up at Elco ready to preach, sing and help the meeting any way we could. I had no idea that God was going to use that meeting to speak right into our hearts. Bro. Lloyd Shuecraft was the night speaker and the Holy Ghost used him to do things in my heart that I still can not explain to this day.

It was absolutely God's will for us to be at Elco in 2007. Not so much that we could preach to others, but that God could use Bro. Shuecraft to preach to us. Hallelujah!

I hope you enjoy this Vintage View Vednesday Elco 2007. It was a great week.
