Test Results-Can We Travel Video

We have been testing how I manage traveling and preaching. Can we do it? What are the test results?

Well, the results are in. Much of the testing went very well, but we have found that the actual traveling is a little out of my reach just yet. We are adjusting our plans and continuing to move forward as much as possible. I try to explain it in the video above.

Thank you for reading and watching today.

A Word For Wednesday, I Know The Master of The Wind

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? I Love this song by the Hemphills! I Know The Master of The Wind My boat of life sails on a troubled sea Ever there's a wind in my sail But I have a friend who watches over me When the breeze turns into a gale I know the master of the wind I know the maker of the rain He can calm the storm And make the sun shine again I know the master of the wind Sometimes I soar like an Eagle to the sky Among the peaks my soul can be found An unexpected storm may drive me from the heights May bring me low but it cannot bring me down I know the master of the wind I know the maker of the rain He can calm the storm And make the sun shine again I know the master of the wind Tag Let Jesus calm your storm And make the sun shine again He is the master of the wind Songwriters: Joel Hemphill Master of the Wind lyrics © Capitol CMG Publishing, Universal Music Publishing Group

Wow! We Are Overwhelmed By Kindness!

Less than two weeks ago we came face-to-face with another example of extreme kindness being shown to our family by people who do not even personally know us. There have been other examples, but this one has been knocking on my heart's door for the last few days.

My word for Wednesday yesterday was entitled Distributing Joy On Purpose/I Want To Be A Brother Like That. The week before was Try A Little kindness

They were not recorded on successive weeks, however they ended up being posted one week after the other. I guess it is appropriate that they fall on weeks when we were inundated with examples of kindness and joy being shown to us.

I will put the links to those two videos at the end of this Mile Marker. If you have not seen them I would love for you to take a few moments to view them.

Now, let me explain this handful of kindness and dose of joy that we were given recently.

The first Sunday night in April, we preached for Pastor Kenny Morris in Ellisville, Mississippi. We had a wonderful service, great response at the altar and sweet fellowship with our dear friends.

Immediately following service I was sitting on the front pew. A man that I did not recognize approached me and handed me an ink pen. He said this is a pen with the information of my home church. The church is just south of town.

He said we have been praying for you as a church and individually since the moment we heard you had a stroke. He said, we have taken your situation very seriously at our church and when we heard you would be here preaching we purposed to be here to see the work that the Lord was doing.

I do not know if they have been to hear us in revivals at Ellisville before, they may have. We have been going there for many years.

But the fact that these people are not personally acquainted with us yet have taken us and our situation very seriously, moves our hearts deeply. Friendship Baptist Church in Ellisville Mississippi has purposely prayed for us and we have been blessed abundantly by it.

This situation has been and is right now being repeated over and over and we are touched by the kindness these people have shown to us. Perhaps you are reading this page right now and you fall into this category.

I am taking a moment today to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We appreciate you being concerned for us so much that you have prayed for us, encouraged us and sustained us in this difficult season. May God bless you for the blessing you are being to us right now.

God is using his people all over the country to lift us up when we have not been able to see the end of this situation. I know that God has this in control. You have proven it to me.

Thank you for reading today. These are the links to A Word For Wednesday.

A Word For Wednesday Distributing Joy On Purpose - I want to be a brother like that!

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

We have been incredibly blessed by others who were going through situations that seemed much more difficult than our own. Reasons for happiness may have been in short supply for them but they were distributing JOY to others on purpose. That is amazing. I want to be a brother like that!

Near the end of this episode, I relate a story from the C. Roy Angel book, Baskets of Silver. I think you will enjoy it.

A Word For Wednesday, Try A Little Kindness

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

The people around us could use a little more kindness and we as Christians should be leading the charge. Kindness can become contagious but so can rudeness, anger and animosity. What will we choose to spread to those we encounter this week. The people in our path could probably use a good dose of kindness.

I related a story today and this is the source: Hilla Benzaken, “How a Hidden Note Spread Ripples of Kindness,”

Thank you for stopping in today.

A Word For Wednesday - Watching God Put Things Together

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I have quite a story to tell you today about watching God put things together in lives that would not have been done otherwise.

This is a story over sixteen years in the process and is still unfolding in the life of a young man we became acquainted with late last year. I am excited to behold what God is doing and will do in the days ahead.

I wonder what God is doing in our lives right now that we know nothing about. Can you give God some time and space to work? He is worth waiting on, friend.

Thank you for watching today.

A Word For Wednesday, There Is No God Like Our God!

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I love this verse. It has spoken deep into my heart the last month or more.

II Samuel 7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

Hallelujah! Our God is great. There is no God like our God. There is no God beside our God. According to everything we have heard with our ears, there is no God like our God!

First Sermon Since A Stroke 80 Days Earlier, The Power of Imperfect Faith

This past Sunday was a memorable day for our family. Our pastor, Bro. Bennie Sutherland called a few days earlier and asked me to preach Sunday morning. I was apprehensive, but many were praying for me and the Lord stood by me and blessed me that morning. We are thanking God for his blessings.

Odie recorded a very short video from the front pew and that is the only video we have from the sermon.

It was captured on audio. I have loaded the audio onto our YouTube channel and it will go live at 8 PM Eastern tonight, Friday night, March 22.

This is a sermon at Dryden Rd Pentecostal Church on March 17. This was my first time preaching since I suffered a brain stem stroke on December 29.

The sermon is The Power of Imperfect Faith. This is AUDIO of the sermon.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you will listen to the sermon on YouTube. The whole video is less than 35 minutes.

Have a super great day.

A Word For Wednesday-The Miraculous Process of Healing

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

There are numerous and varied processes by which the body fights disease, repels invaders and heals itself. Old and sick cells are replaced while the body is mending skin, bones, organs and every part of the body.

Modern scientists and great researchers are still seeking to understand how hormones and enzymes are produced by our bodies to effectively fight for the health of own bodies.

This is no accident of evolution. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Therefore, I say healing is a natural process in the body instigated by supernatural means. It is miraculous!

Thank you for joining us today.

A Word For Wednesday, Peaches And Frost

Good Morning!Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Peaches do not need frost to grow but sometimes men do! There are times in life when a good frost will help men to mature and grow. A frost may kill a peach harvest physically but that same frost may prosper a man spiritually.

Hardships thrust on us by the world and the devil to kill us can speak life into us instead by the grace, power snd providence of God.

Thank you for joining us today. It is always good to have you.

A Word For Wednesday - Trusting Our Lord to Lead - He Maketh No Mistake

Thank you for joining us today. We are glad to be back. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

I am talking about John the Baptist today and the crisis of faith he experienced briefly in prison. Christ had a message tailor made for John and John received it.

Have you ever wondered what God was doing while you were in trouble? We must learn to trust our Lord to lead us even when we do not understand Him. God makes No mistakes!

More Good News-Stepping Up!

Yesterday I posted an update on my recovery.

Also, I have posted a video with the information in yesterday's post and more good news from today.

Monday was also a monumental day at therapy. During physical therapy, they worked with me for most of the hour on walking without assistance. I was a little unsteady, or maybe a lot unsteady, but they had me walking pretty fast and quite a bit of distance.

Also, occupational therapy was designated to be the day that they would give me cognitive tests to see if I was ready to begin driving again. They had prepared me for this, but this was the day to take all the tests in one hour.

It is actually a series of cognitive tests along with a speed test to make sure I can get from the gas pedal to the brake pedal and a test to see if I recognize and comprehend traffic signs. I passed all the tests with flying colors and they have approved me to begin driving.

The neurologist has the final say and they can require me to take a driving test from a professional driving instructor, The therapist does not think they will require it. She said there is no doubt my cognitive skills are at the right level.

I have begun driving some, but I have such a good chauffeur, that I do not have much need to drive. ❤️ I will hold off on driving the bus for a little bit, to make sure I feel comfortable enough to attempt it. There is no sense in doing something stupid.

That is the good news for today. We are making progress, stepping up one day at a time. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Friday Night Revival at 8:00 PM Eastern

Today is a reminder of our third and final night of revival from Nigeria on Friday night at 8 PM Eastern.

This is the last night of the Gospel Crusade was on a Saturday night in December. I preached to those in need of a miracle from God.  The response at the end of the preaching was tremendous

The people in Nigeria honor me and respect me way beyond what I could ever earn or expect. Bro. Shobanke has loved me greatly and he has passed that love on to his people.

They seem to listen close to every word and are immediately ready to come to the altar and believe God is going to give them their miracle. It really is a sight for us to behold.

I have never preached good enough in Nigeria to merit the response that they demonstrate, but I love preaching in that type of environment. wow! What a wonderful relationship and wonderful amazing services we have enjoyed since 2007.

Thank you for making plans to join us Friday night at 8 PM Eastern. It will be great to have you and to hear from you.

Thank you for reading today. May God bless you.

He Is Still God

Hey Friends,

Odie here with a post for the final Saturday of January. One month ago, our plans changed in an instant. God has been with us every day! I am still thankful that we can lean on God.

Almost two weeks ago, Dad graduated from the hospital/ rehab to my home. We stepped into the next stage in his stroke recovery process. These are some of the facts that Dad talked about this week here on the blog.

Mom and I doing our best to assist Dad in his recovery. He still has a long road ahead, but He is working hard! God will see us through it all!

We are continuing to rejoice in every bit of forward progress! I praise the Lord every time I see him drink some water! God is a miracle worker! He is helping Dad every day. Here is another step in the miracle that happened this week. We are keeping the faith!

Thank you to many who have let us know you are still praying! Here are a few things to pray about specifically: for the swallowing to fully function, the numbness of his right side to go away, including his right vocal cord, the dizziness to completely subside and good rest. I know there are lots of other areas, but that is what I am praying for right now.

I will close with one of my favorite songs. My parents wrote this song several years ago. I keep thinking of the words in the last four weeks. It describes our current path.

I do not see the purpose and plan behind this season of life! But I must remember that He is God and we are just human! Today, I am saying, Lord, You are God! I trust you to see us through this day!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit!

YouTube Revival Announcement

We have a Revival announcement today. Beginning Friday night and running a total of three Friday nights, we are going to post revival videos on our YouTube channel.

These are NOT current revival services but services from the Gospel Crusade in December at Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church in Abeokuta, Nigeria. Please take note of this. These services are from December.

This was the final revival for us in 2023. The crusade ran on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights outdoors at the church.

I had already edited these videos before Christmas hoping to post them at sometime in January. Now is the time.

The first night I am preaching to people who are hurting, the second night I am preaching directly to those who need to be saved and the third night I am preaching to those who need a miracle.

I am preaching with an interpreter and that will be included in the video. I hope that you enjoy the videos. We had an awesome time those three nights in Nigeria.

I think that you will see how much I love and enjoy preaching to the Nigerian people. They are sitting on the edge of their seats, pulling the preaching out of me and I love every moment of it.

I added some bloopers from Odie at the end of Friday's video. She was recording an introduction for me this week and we laughed so hard I thought I was going to pop the feeding tube out of my stomach. I posted the bloopers video this morning separately. Let us know what you think.

Thank you for joining us today and I hope you will join us Friday night at 8:00 Eastern/7:00 Central time.

Thank you.

1/15 Monday Davy Update

Hey Friends,

This Is Odie here with the Monday report on my Dad. We are continuing to rejoice over Dad's Swallow And Praise from yesterday!

God is a miracle worker! He is healing my Dad one day at a time! Words can not explain my gratitude and praise for our magnificent Lord!

Please share this video with anyone you know who has been praying for our family! We want the world to see a miracle in action!

If all goes well, Dad will complete his in-patient therapy today. He should be home by this evening,

I will let Dad tell you about his current condition later, once he is home. He still has a long way to go to a full recovery. The rest of Dad's miracle is on the way! We will keep praying, trusting, believing and praising!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers! The many comments on the blog and YouTube, texts calls. emails and cards of encouragement have brightened our days! We love our family and friends dearly!

Swallow And Praise! Davy Update 1/14

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting for this Sunday's post. Yesterday was a two post kind of day. Check both of them out here and here if you missed seeing them.

They are both worth reading! The morning post was about our precious friend Dorcas in Nigeria. The second one was a Saturday Evening Post. It was an encouraging update from my mother about Dad. We praise God for each movement of forward progress in Dad's recovery.

I was getting ready for church this morning when I received a YouTube notification on my phone. Dad posted a video from the hospital. I immediately opened the video! This is what my eyes and heart saw!

I had a little church right here in my bedroom! He's An On Time God, even on a frigid January day!

Then I had to share the good news with you! Please keep praying for a  complete miracle! God is at work. I know the family of God has been going to war on our behalf! We are so thankful for the grace of God in the last 16 days!

A Word For Wednesday, A Well of Water-Testimony

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

A church and community needed water badly and now they have water! Praise God! I received a video of the well on Christmas Eve!

The church that needed water is Landmark Christ Mission and the Pastor is our dear friend, Pastor Stephen Kuye. By God's grace and the help of His people, we were able to take resources to drill a well on their property. They struck water at 100 meters down! They are so happy and my heart is overjoyed.

Now they have an abundant supply of water for their church and for the muslim community around their church in Ibadan, Nigeria. Hallelujah!

Thank you for joining us today.
