Long Day Of Vocals

 Hey Friends,

We wrapped up our parts on our new album yesterday. Mom and I both worked all day to sing our vocals!

Ben Isaacs is an award-winning producer for a reason! He is patient, encouraging, and a magician! He is a miracle working in the studio!

Now, he has a boatload of more work to do beforeit is done. Ben will add more instruments and vocals and get it ready for mass production.

We hope you all love it! It will be a while before we have the finished product. Stay tuned we will share more details, as they become available.

Here are a few pics from vocal day.

Ben’s wife Mindy came and spent some at the studio. We were so glad to see her! She is a sweetheart!

Well, it is late Wednesday night, as I write. I will close for now!

Tracking Day Done

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for your prayers! We were in the studio most of yesterday. Tracking day was a success, and we are thrilled with everything! We did music for all ten songs.

Ben Isaacs was at the helm as producer.

Marcus Hyatt was at the controls.

Yesterday, the band consisted of
Kelly Jo- piano

Brandon Taulbee- bass

and Greg Ritchie- drums and percussion.

More instruments will be added later.

I was singing both mine and Mom’s lead parts so the band knew where to play and match the vocals

It was a great day! We had a blast! We shared lots of laughter, smiles and  shed some tears.  We also made  lots of memories!

Our team was fantastic! We had a blast! The guys were all so encouraging and helpful!

Thanks also to Aunt Lily Isaacs and Becky, Isaac Bowman, who stopped by the studio to hang out with us! They cheered us on! We appreciate you taking time from your busy schedules to visitwith us! You made our day! We Love you lots!

Tomorrow we will be in the studio doing vocals all day! We appreciate more prayers!

I will write about our time in the studio, when I have time to process it all! Right now my brain in toast!

Thanks for reading!

Recording Preparation

 Hey Friends,

Here is just a tiny peek into our recording preparation this weekend.

We have recorded several projects over the years. The last one we did as a trio was in 2013. We hoped to do another one, but life kept getting in the way.

Ben Isaacs has been encouraging us to record an album since December. When he started talking to us about doing one with the two of us, I did not know if we could do it.

We had not even sung one song in public since Dad had passed away. We did not feel ready to cross that bridge yet! Several people encouraged us not to let our song die!

At our pastor's leading, we soon began singing at church. The first few times were extremely difficult, and I still have moments where I struggle! The God we sing about, the messages and the songs have not changed!

Ben has been persistent and stayed on us. He encouraged us to get our songs together for a project.  We sent him our list of songs to him last month.

All of the pieces began to fall into place quickly last week. Less than a week later, we are headed to Ben’s studio today and tomorrow. Hopefully, we will get all of our parts done with music and vocals on the project.

We love Ben Isaacs! He is our favorite producer, and we are honored that he would want to work with us!

Today will be dedicated to music. Tomorrow, we will focus on vocals. Please oh please keep us in your prayers! We desire anointing and God’s strength!

We are excited and scared to death, all at the same time! I know there will be some moments that it will be hard to keep our emotions in check, as well. We will definitely miss Dad Immensely!

We are still trying to figure out our sound now. There is something massive missing! We know it definitely does not sound the same!

Music has played a large part in my healing journey, through the grief! Many of the songs that we have chosen for this album have helped us, along with many more! We hope and pray that the songs encourage someone else along the way!

I will do my best to share photos from our time in the studio later. We will also share details on the project, as they become available!

Phillips Craig And Dean Centerville, Ohio

 Hey Friends,

I hope you are having a great weekend. I am here to tell you about my fun evening last night.

Faith and Family Radio held their 14th anniversary concert in Centerville, Ohio. Phillips, Craig and Dean were the featured artists.

Earlier this week, I started making plans to attend the concert and enjoy some excellent singing. Emily Roberts was my concert buddy!

Phillips, Craig and Dean are three friends who have worked in the ministry for years. They have been singing for 33 years. I have been listening to them most of that time.

Randy Phillips is from Austin, Texas.

Sean Craig is from St. Louis, Missouri.

Dan Dean is from Dallas, Texas.

Here are my pictures from the night. People were standing up in front of me for a lot of the concert, but I still had a great time!

During the second half, Todd Tilghman came out and sang a couple of songs with PCD. He did outstanding that was a nice surprise.

He had been sitting near us, and we heard him singing! We both thought he's really good, but did not realize who it was! 😂

The crowd requested an encore. PCD came back for one more song to end the night.

The music of Phillips, Craig and Dean has played a big part in my life. Dad records 4 of their songs through the years. They are super talented, and their song speak to me.

I had never seen PCD sing live. I did not want to let this opportunity pass. I am thrilled to have seen them in person now!

Emily, thank you for spending your Friday night with me. It was great to being with you, friend!

Thank you for reading!

The Isaacs Sing Songs For The Times

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in with you. Dad is covered up with some stuff today so I am filling in this morning. I hope you are having a good week. Thanks for stopping by to visit with us.

The Isaacs

We love our family, The Isaacs! They are fantastic people, singers and musicians. The music that they create is phenomenal! Their talent continues to amaze me and blow my mind!

I love to see them perform live. Our paths have not crossed with them in over a year. I have been going into severe withdrawals.😁 I am ready to see them again.

The pandemic changed the Isaacs' touring schedule for a big part of 2020. Like all of us, they were home for an extended period of time. They still worked hard from home! It was fun to catch several of their online performances. You can see some of those concerts on their YouTube channel here.

Songs For The Times

Recently The Isaacs decided to record a new album. It is titled Songs For The Times. They chose some requests from the fans and added a few new songs. It is going to be a "must have" for your music collection!

We do not have to wait to hear the project. You can watch the whole thing take shape on YouTube. This album is different because they decided to bring their fans along. They allowed fans to be there virtually for the recording of this project. It really was a neat experience. I had a blast watching this recording happen step by step.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Isaacs work their magic in the studio. Their sound is perfect, but they have worked long and hard to get it that way.  It was good to see their perfection in action. As always they inspire me to work harder on my singing. The Isaacs are awesome!!

You can go back to their archives if you missed their live videos. I think you will enjoy seeing the process. Click here to find their Youtube channel. Please subscribe and turn on your post notifications. That will help you know when they add new content.

For more information about the Songs For The Times, visit The Isaacs' website. Click here to order your copy today. I pre-ordered my copy while they were recording. I am anxiously awaiting my CD in the mail. The CD is now in the duplication phase of the process. Pre-orders will be mailed soon after the Isaacs receive them.

Recording
Have you ever had the opportunity to see an album recorded? I love the entire process from start to finish! We have recorded several times and I am always looking forward to the next time.

I know from experience that recording is hard work. It has been some of the best days of my life. I can also testify to the fact that it can also be stressful. The final project is rewarding and the hard work is worth it.

Thanks for reading. I am off to listen to the Isaacs some more. I will catch you later.

Vintage View Vednesday Simple Truth May 2006

We are having a wonderful time this week at First Pentecostal Church in London, Kentucky with Pastor Vernon Jarvis and all of his fine folks. They sure deserve better preaching than what they are getting, but they are very gracious about it. We absolutely love being here.

Vintage View Vednesday

Vintage View Vednesday this week takes us back to May of 2006. We were at Hilltop studio near Nashville recording our Simple Truth CD. We love the recording process and being with Ben Isaacs and all of the talented musicians makes it even more fun.

It was a great, great experience. We spent one day tracking the music, about two days on vocals and then a day or two on mixing. We had it mastered later at another studio in Nashville.

We had the Kountry Star fifth wheel then and we parked in an RV park in Goodlettsville. We were there for two full weeks. I think we did the tracking the first week and then rested our voices until we recorded the vocals the second week.

We had a lot of family fun in the campground and visiting local churches in the Nashville area. We sometimes stay in campgrounds during revivals, but while families are building fires for the evening, we come out in our dress clothes, load up in the car and leave. We get a LOT of funny looks.

It is every once in a while to actually "use" the campground.

We have great memories from these few days of recording. We had a blast. We really, really need to get back into the studio and these pictures make us want to get it done now!

I just realized there are no pictures of me singing on this album. Maybe that's not me on those songs. Some one must have filled in for me.

That is all for today. Thanks for dropping in.
