A Few Pictures From The Week 6/30/23

This week has flown by and it is amazing that the weekend is upon us again. We plan to be back at Dryden Rd. Sunday morning and at Anchor of Hope in Lebanon Sunday evening. Come be in service with us if you can.

Odie started her week off right with a trip to Acapulco with friends and thankfully she remembered a few pictures for the record.

And a picture of a casserole she made on Tuesday.

We were up early Wednesday morning to drive about an hour and forty minutes to the Eastern Indian Pentecostal Fellowship for their annual camp meeting. We are not usually home during this time of year and we wanted to go.

Pastor Dwain Galiher was preaching the day service and Pastor Wade Hicks was conducting the service. Bro. Galiher really spoke to us and we praise God for His preaching. We were blessed to see quite a few friends and we enjoyed the day.

I posted pictures from Wednesday afternoon yesterday and I will have a few from Thursday next week sometime.

Most of our time all week was spent conducting tests on the generator trying to get to the bottom of the problem before we take off for the northeast soon. It is not fixed and I am not certain that anyone really understands everything that is going on, but it MIGHT be doing a bit better.

Odie had some FaceTime church with Rev. Charles Shoemaker

Thursday night we were present at Dryden Rd. to hear Bro. Andrew Blevins preach and it was awesome.

Most of our anniversaries have been celebrated in revival, camp meeting or youth camp. This year we are home, but we were in church.

That wraps up our week. Thank you for joining us for a while today.

Happy Anniversary, KJo Boggs

I know that this next fact is difficult to believe, but it is absolutely true. Kelly Jo was crazy enough to marry me! Yes, she was!

Maybe even more difficult to believe, as she aged and matured and should have gotten smarter, she was crazy enough to keep me. I have been blessed way beyond measure and I am well aware of it.

God At Work
When I say I was lacking in brains as a young man, please do not think that I am speaking metaphorically. I did not have the sense that God gave a goose and thankfully, Kelly Jo was too young or in love to notice.

Not only was I lacking in brains, I had gaping holes in my character as well. I had dedicated my life to God, I had even preached from God's Word, but I had a long way to go to be a man who was going to be a good husband and a good man.

Thank God for grace.
Thank God for God's power and strength.
Thank God for His guidance and protection.
AND
Thank God for a patient woman that loved fervently and lived faithfully and took me along with her.

Together we made some right decisions early on and a few timely decisions at perilous points along the way. That allowed God access to us when we might have closed Him out otherwise. Again, Praise God for grace.

Wednesday Pre-Anniversary
We went for a pre-anniversary meal yesterday. It was so wonderful to spend a few hours with Kelly Jo, we may go for an actual anniversary meal today.😎

The steak was so good that I wanted to eat the bone. I could not eat it, but I did chew on it a while!😍

I have spent some time this week thanking God for His blessings on KJo and I. It has been an amazing journey thus far and I am expecting more great travel and experiences in the future with this unbelievable lady.

I think we have some more places to go by HIS grace.

Thank you for going with me, KJo. I love you more than a hog loves slop!

Thank you all for joining us today.

A Word For Wednesday-The Real Focus Of Our Fight

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

All of us have so many things on our plate. If the kids are OK, the car is breaking down. If the car is OK, the blood pressure is high. If our body is fine, the boss is acting crazy, if the boss is groovy, the roof is leaking. We all have so many things in life that consume us.

But most of the things that consume us are temporal. Paul points us to the real focus of our fight in Ephesians 6. Our fight is not physical, it is spiritual. Let us focus our energy on fighting where the real battle is.

I hope that makes sense. It makes sense when I say it to myself. Thank you for reading and watching today.

A Praise Report-Update On Pastor EJ Lamb and Family

Many of you have been praying for Pastor EJ Lamb and his family the last few weeks and I wanted to bring a short update this morning.

As many of you know, Bro EJ and his family were in serious car accident on a Saturday evening in early June and they were plunged into a scary period with lots of unknowns for several days. Although most of them escaped without serious injuries others were hurt badly.

Their precious teenage daughter, Reese had internal bleeding and lots of damage in her pelvic and hip area. Once she was stable after a few days, she required extensive surgery and repair, but the Lord stood by and helped the whole family all the way through. They detailed one miracle after another that the Lord worked each moment of the way. Hallelujah!

Reese is now home and faces a long recovery. However, she has a beautiful spirit and a bright outlook on it all. KJo and I visited them with lunch Monday and we came away encouraged in the Lord. We enjoyed their company so much and appreciate the invitation to stop in.

Thank you so much for praying for the Lamb family. The situation could have been much worse than it was and we praise God for His help. They are going to need encouragement and strength throughout the process ahead, but we are expecting God to continue the work He has started.

Reese and the whole family, were as beautiful as they have ever been, but we did not take any pictures while in their home with one exception.

Stella was posing with her tortilla face and it was too cute to pass up.

Thank you for stopping by today and thank you again for praying for our friends.

The Weekend Dispatch 6/26/2023

Most of the weekend for me followed the pattern I set Thursday after traveling three full days. I was radically lazy and did almost nothing at all. Was there nothing to do? Were there no things that needed attention on the bus or in the barn?

Well, the list is piling up, but I was completely useless anyway. Each day I hoped to feel and do better, but I could not, would not. That is my story and I am sticking to it.

KJo and Odie ventured out and about visiting wheelchair stores. The power chair we purchased used for Odie's inside home use is falling down on the job and they have been exploring possibilities for a while. She needs one with a small footprint like the one she has and those are a little harder to find.

Odie's insurance has never purchased one chair for Odie and we were hoping they might step up to the plate this time. Odie has been trying to jump through all of the proper hoops, but it does not look like the insurance will do the deed.

We think they should, but we have no confidence they will. It is easier to do it ourselves and move on. It has always worked out fine.

Sunday we went to Dryden Rd. both services. Bro. Bennie asked me to preach Sunday morning, but Sunday School erupted into a great altar service so he rescheduled me for Sunday night. We enjoyed the service and the good response in the Altar. Praise God!

Odie snapped some pictures over the weekend.

That wraps up The Weekend Dispatch. Thank you for joining us.
