Thankful He Came

Hey Friends,

This is Odie, checking in with you today. I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I appreciate you spending a moment of your Saturday with me.

We are in final prep mode around the BoggsMobile. Early Monday morning, I am flying home to Ohio. On Tuesday, my parents are scheduled to fly to Nigeria. Prayers are appreciated for all of us this week. Especially for my parents as they embark on their mission trip to see our precious Nigerian friends!

This is the final Saturday in November. I have used this month of Thanksgiving to express extra gratitude for just a few of my blessings. God has blessed me abundantly, and I will forever be thankful! I have covered HeavenVeterans, and My Friend AmandaToday, I wanted to close out the month with one more thing that comes to mind when I think about things to thank God for.

Christmas time is upon us! I love this time of year and the reason we have Christmas. Jesus is the reason for this season every year! December is the month we set aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus. He was born so we could have a Savior and hope! Today, I am thankful for the birth of Jesus!

When God sent Jesus into the world, He sent His only son to come to change our world! Jesus gave up Heaven for you and me! He had never experienced the pain and hardships of life. Jesus and His life are the greatest gifts given to mankind!

The birth of Jesus, His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave changed my life! He is still changing lives in 2023! Jesus Christ came into this world with a purpose: to save sinners. I am reminded of a scripture my Dad often quotes. It is now one of my favorites.

This is a faithful saying, worthy of all acceptations, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 1:15

While pondering this topic, I remembered the song Until He Came, which my parents wrote many years ago. Click the video below to hear the song. The message in this song wraps everything up nicely! I am extra thankful He came and for His sacrifices just for us!

See you next time.

So Much To Be Thankful For-Happy Happy Thanksgiving 2023

We are very thankful for so many things in our lives. As individuals and as a family we have been blessed beyond measure. Thank you for being a huge part of our lives. May God bless each of you on Thanksgiving 2023!

Below you will find a few pictures of our formal Thanksgiving meal earlier in the week at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, Missouri.

Speaking of being thankful, as we were preparing to walk into Lambert's we saw a dear friend, Bro. Ray Riggs from West Plains, Missouri and he provided the money for our Thanksgiving Feast!

He was 170 miles from home and we had been parked next to his home in Junction Hill only a few hours before. We had no idea we would see him that afternoon. Wow! Thank you, friend.

Thank you for reading today and thank you for being our friends.

Thankful For Our Veterans

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting from the BoggsMobile. I hope you are having a great Saturday. We are doing well.

On Saturdays in November, I am focused on being extra thankful. Last week, I was thankful for Heaven. This week, I am thankful for our Veterans.

Today is November 11th on the calendar. It is the Official Veterans Day here in America. Most businesses celebrate the holiday this coming Monday.

Thank you to everyone who has served our great nation! It is because of the sacrifice of you and other great humans that we can enjoy our freedoms today!

It is impossible for me to personally thank all of our family and friends who either are serving or have served our country! Our servicemen, women, and veterans are extraordinary people! I admire and honor you today! I am proud to call you my friends and family!

The words thank you can not adequately convey my gratitude to you! I wanted to express my thankfulness from the bottom of my heart! I pray God gives you an extra special blessing today!

Our Family Soldier

My youngest first cousin on the Boggs side is Lucas James Osborn. He currently attends college in Morehead, Kentucky. Luke has already enlisted in the Army and has committed to serving six years upon graduation.

Last month, Luke rang my doorbell. I answered the door to see a soldier dressed in his dress uniform. I am proud of our soldier! I am already praying for his safety!

Thanks for stopping by to visit with me today. Please take a moment to thank someone for serving our nation.

Celebrating America's Birthday 2023

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from the road. The BoggsMobile is on the move. We are traveling toward the northeast portion of our beautiful nation.

We look forward to seeing the fantastic scenery in the miles we will cover on this tour! This is one of our favorite trips. Also, we will see many friends and meet new people along the way. Stay tuned for our updates. Who knows what will happen over the next few weeks?

Monday, I visited the home of our dear friends, Jeff and Debbie Roberts. They invited several family and friends over to celebrate America's birthday.

We had a great time of fun, games, food, fellowship and fireworks! I enjoyed the evening immensely, visiting with friends! Many times I miss gatherings like this one with my church people.

The Roberts Fireworks Show was fantastic! Bro. Jeff, Bro. Nathan Roberts and John Maples did a fantastic job! I was thrilled to see the show. It was the highlight of my holiday this year!

This was a fantastic way to celebrate America's 247th birthday! The kids enjoyed a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to America. Before we realized the evening had slipped away.

Thanks to the Roberts for including me in their party! I appreciate the Stancells for allowing me to catch a ride with them. This is a fun day that I will not forget for a long time!

I will close with my pictures from the evening. Gunner Burris helped me snap some of the photos.

Thanks for visiting with me. See you next week.

Happy Father's Day!-View Out The Front Window of The BoggsMobile 6/18/23

Sunday Morning Sanity
Holiness is the way to Pentecost Pastor RC Betz

This was our view out the bus window in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.

This is our view this week in Moore, Oklahoma.

I hope you have a super great Sunday.

Davy

Dad, you bought me a bike when I was three and taught me how to ride.
You pushed a while and then let go, I thought you were beside.
You said I picked it up real quick and said I went fast too.
Dad, my only dream when I was young was to go half as fast as you.

You taught me how to bat and how to throw a ball.
While others came to play the game, You said “son, give it your all”. I loved it Dad when the crowd would scream, “hit it out of here”. But, Dad, I hit that ball with all my might just to hear you cheer.

You taught me how to swim and dive. We had so much fun.
You’d bury me up to my neck in the sand and bake me in the sun. You’d throw us in and jump in too, we’d scream and splash and shout.
When the sun went down and we had to go home, you had to nearly pull us out.

Playing football in the fall, I’d run and push and fight.
I’d work all week and kill myself to play on Friday night.
Every game I’d push the limit trying to do my best.
You were standing at the thirty-yard line, I wanted to pass your test.

You taught me how to work, Dad, although I didn’t like it then.
You taught me the value of a hard days work, when to save and when to spend.
You taught me to respect other people and how to put others first.
To say sir and mam, please and thank-you, to see people at their best and not their worst.

There’s one thing you’ve taught me often, Dad, that I’ve been slow to learn.
“Take care of the name I’ve given you son, It’s something I’ve had to earn.”

There’s been several times, through the years, when my head’s hung in shame.
When I’ve drug the name you’ve given me through the mud. I know it’s caused you pain.

But you’ve been faithful to me, through the good times and the bad.
When you should have left me in defeat, You’ve been there for me Dad.
You were there to pick up the pieces, though I lost when I should have won.
The greatest thing you’ve taught me Dad is how deeply you love your son.

The bats and balls and other things have faded in the past.
I’m trying to trade these temporal things for something that will last.
I’m sure I’ve got a lot to learn. I’ve only just begun.
But the greatest thing you’ve taught me, Papa, is how deeply The Father Loves His sons.

Happy Father’s Day 2023

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Oklahoma. I hope you are doing well today.

We are having a great week with our friends at Crosslight in Moore, Oklahoma. It is always a joy to be here with Bro. and Sis. Birdsong! We have two more services tomorrow, and I am anticipating God to meet us.

Today is a special day. We will be seeing lots of family and friends. I will share pictures next week. Stay tuned.

It is time for a PSA. Tomorrow, June 18th, is Father's Day. Do not forget to tell your Dad or Father figure that you love and appreciate them! Now let me honor some of the men that have influenced me.

My pastor Bro. Bennie Sutherland has loved me since I was a toddler. He has done his best to shepherd us thru life. I really do not know where I would be without him. I am thankful God placed him in our lives!

God has allowed us to be friends with several excellent men of God. I am so thankful for their impact on my life! They have poured into my life through preaching God's word, prayer and friendship to me. I am honored to call them my friends.

My grandfathers, Danny Morgan and Eugene Boggs, are two of the most amazing men on this planet, and I get to call them both Papaw! They are always there to be my encouragers, fix my broken things and pray for me. I can not tell you how much my Papaws and their love mean to me! I could not wish for better Grandfathers! I am a blessed girl!

Davy Boggs is the Father of the hour! Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

I know he is the exact Father that I need. He was hand-picked by God just for me. There was no way Dad could see the whole picture when I came into this world, but God knew what was best for me!

I thank God I get another opportunity to wish him a Happy Father's Day in 2023. There were a few moments earlier this year when I did not know what today would look like. Thankfully it was not time for God to call him home. I get to love on him for myself.

Dad, I love you more than a hog loves slop! Your guidance, love and support have shaped me into the woman I am today. Thank you for always being my teddy bear and rock! You are my hero!

I am proud to be your favorite daughter! I am always happy to say Davy Boggs is my Dad. Thank you for loving me unconditionally! I will forever be your baby.

I want to wish you all reading a Happy Father's Day! May God bless you in a great way this weekend!

The Weekend Dispatch May 15, 2023

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Ohio. I am here to give you a glimpse into my weekend's activity. My weekend included food, family, friends, fun and fellowship.

The weather was threatening to be rainy on Friday, but I gladly enjoyed a little sun on my porch. While I was sitting outside, My cousin Lisa called, inviting me to dinner at Skyline.

We checked the hourly forecast and found a spot that looked like we could get dinner without getting wet. Our food was delicious! My choice this time was a Coney Bowl. It was probably the best one that I ever had.

Time spent with Lisa is always fun! We had a great evening catching up! We were too busy talking, and I neglected to get a selfie that night.

Lisa bought us a couple Ande's mints to polish off the meal. Those mints always make me remember a special Mother's Day meal we enjoyed with Great Grandma Boggs.

I checked the calendar that night to see the date of the special meal with Grandma Boggs. It took place May 11,1997. Grandma went to Heaven the very next day. This past Friday marked 26 years since she left us! I thought it was fitting to have an Andes in her memory!

Saturday, we had an impromptu lunch meet up with friends. Lisa called, wanting to know if I was in the mood for some salsa. Of course, my answer was a quick yes!

Rick, Stephanie and Timmy Stancell joined us for a great meal. We had a blast spending some time together!

That evening my Mamaw and Papaw came over. They were on their way to a special Mother's Day dinner. I am thankful Mamaw was doing so good for Mother's Day this year! She is a walking miracle!

Sunday, it was time for church at DRPC.

Bro. Bob Dotson shared a couple of his poems about Mothers.

Bro. David Eldridge preached both Sunday services. He preached outstanding!

Then it was time to honor some special Mothers. Bro. Michael Alexander is the Sunday School Superintendant. He does a fantastic job!

Sis. Jane Sutherland, the Mother of our church, with her beautiful hanging basket of flowers.

Sis. Dorothy Hasty was the oldest Mother at 94 years old. She did not come up to get her flowers. Her children always come to church with her on Mother's Day. I am glad to see them honor their Mother.

Sis. Sarah Mitchell was the youngest Mother present.

Sis. Amy Mitchell received the award for most children present. They had to draw a name this year. Several ladies had four of their children with them.

Drawing for the 2023 Prettiest Mother of DRPC.

The winner was Sis. RoseAnn Murphey

The hat crew, Rachel, Odie, Debbie and Leah. We decided to wear hats for Mother's Day this year.

Sunday Selfie with Kiran.

Me with my "Church Mama", Sis. Sharon Whitley.

It was great to see my friend, Bro. David Eldridge. We always get a selfie for the blog.

Kiran was happy to have his Mom and baby sister at church!

Sunday night service

Sis. Renae Coffman is one the best ladies I know! I love her so much!

I enjoy having the Burris family as part of our DRPC family. Bro. Jared Burris, aka California, is a wonderful friend to our family!

Sis Jane Sutherland, Mother's Day 2023.

It is always good to see my "baby" cousin Jonas!

Well, another weekend is officially history. Thanks for stopping by today.
