Ponderings 5/20/25

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for joining me again today. I did some reflecting here in yesterday's post. I appreciate the kind comments and response.

Now, I am going to share something I have been pondering recently. Dad is never far from my mind, so he is the subject of my ponderings most of the time.

Our long time family friend, Danny Jansen from Tennessee, text to check on us. He also said he was wondering what Dad was doing in Heaven?

We love Danny and Kathy Jansen! They are special to us! Mom and I really appreciated him taking time to check on us!

His text sparked a conversation between Mom and me. What was going on in Heaven? I have ideas of what may be happening, but I cannot say for certain. Dad is worshipping Jesus! I think He has reunited with family and friends and meeting heroes of the faith!

There are several things I thought of that he is NOT doing right now. There is no more struggle with diets, blood sugar, breathing, swallowing, numbness, crippling fatigue, pain worry, fear, and so much more!

Where do I stop? Here are a few more things that come to mind. No more schedules to worry about. No more grief. He is free of bus induced psychosis!

Oh, hallelujah, my heart rejoices for Dad. He fought his earthly fight and finished his race! He is freeAs Christians we have something to look forward to!

Thanks for reading my ponderings for today! See y'all tomorrow.

Reflecting On Half A Year

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for joining me today. I hope your week is going good.

I want to pause and thank our dear family and friends who continue to stand by us! Your mail, calls, texts, emails, comments and hugs brighten our day!

God is our strength and refuge in our time of trouble! The family of God also provides massive support! We feel your love and prayers! I pray you feel our love, appreciation and gratitude in return! May God bless each of you!

Our lives changed forever on Sunday afternoon, November 10th, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. Our fearless leader and protector finished his early race. God gave Daddy his ultimate healing.  In the blink of an eye, his pain and suffering were gone forever!

Mom and I had to figure out what to do now. God had special people close by who helped us navigate the many decisions and challenging moments! Those people are a phone call away, even now.

Overall, I think we are handling everything okay. We still have questions and some rough moments, but we are holding our heads up!

I am not writing this post because I am struggling right now. I literally can not believe we have lived six whole months without Dad physically here.

The calendar on May 10th, 2025, marked six months of Dad's being in Heaven. Our six months without him  means we are six months closer to reuniting!

I miss Daddy so much! Just a few things I miss are his love, genuine smile, laughter, prayers and the comfort of knowing he was my protector.

God, thank you for for seeing us through six months! We made half a year. Now we will make it day by day through a full year!

Thanks for reading has I reflect! See you tomorrow. I may still be reflecting.

Sunday Sanity 5/18/25

Hey Friends,

I hope you have a wonderful Lord’s day! Mom and I are deeply saddened by the storm damage from Friday night. Many places were hit, and it is terrible!

The reports coming from the London, Kentucky, area are horrific! We have so many family members and friends in this area, and it is heartbreakingly scary!

Please pray for everyone who has suffered injury and or loss! Countless people are left trying to figure out what to do now. I know they need prayer and strength to survive.

Here is some sanity for you: I'm including this little nugget from a message by Bro. Roger Luke, a few months ago.

He was preaching on “I am still here.” We can survive the attack of the enemy!

Pain is a testimony that Hell failed what it was trying to do to you.”

Phillips Craig And Dean Centerville, Ohio

 Hey Friends,

I hope you are having a great weekend. I am here to tell you about my fun evening last night.

Faith and Family Radio held their 14th anniversary concert in Centerville, Ohio. Phillips, Craig and Dean were the featured artists.

Earlier this week, I started making plans to attend the concert and enjoy some excellent singing. Emily Roberts was my concert buddy!

Phillips, Craig and Dean are three friends who have worked in the ministry for years. They have been singing for 33 years. I have been listening to them most of that time.

Randy Phillips is from Austin, Texas.

Sean Craig is from St. Louis, Missouri.

Dan Dean is from Dallas, Texas.

Here are my pictures from the night. People were standing up in front of me for a lot of the concert, but I still had a great time!

During the second half, Todd Tilghman came out and sang a couple of songs with PCD. He did outstanding that was a nice surprise.

He had been sitting near us, and we heard him singing! We both thought he's really good, but did not realize who it was! 😂

The crowd requested an encore. PCD came back for one more song to end the night.

The music of Phillips, Craig and Dean has played a big part in my life. Dad records 4 of their songs through the years. They are super talented, and their song speak to me.

I had never seen PCD sing live. I did not want to let this opportunity pass. I am thrilled to have seen them in person now!

Emily, thank you for spending your Friday night with me. It was great to being with you, friend!

Thank you for reading!

Spring 2025 Pictures For Flyers

Hey Friends,

How are you doing? Thank you so much for spending part of your Friday with us.

As you know, Mom and I have done some traveling, and we will be doing some in the future. We have been asked to sing and help with music.

A few people asked for updated flyer photos. When they asked for the images, we did not have good pictures of the two of us.

We needed the help of our friends at Bradley Searcy Photography! We briefly crossed paths at PFYC, where Bradley and Melonie were the official PFYC photographers. We did not have time for a full photo session.

Brad captured a couple shots for us at their photo booth. We had fun during the few minutes we worked with them! Hopefully, we can catch up with them for more pictures in the future.

Brad and Melonie stay booked up. They are great at their trade! Check out their website here. I tease them that I need to book a session, just to see my friends.

Thanks to Brad for sending us the pictures! He also gave us permission to share them on the here on the blog. Mom and I picked our favorite of the two pictures. I will share it below.

There is a high resolution version and a web version. I know some people like both options for flyers.

Beach Cottage Visitor

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for joining me for a moment today. It is always great to have you visit us!

I hope this finds you doing well! Mom and I both are doing good We have been working on little things around the house this week.

Yesterday afternoon, we went to visit my grandparents. Upon our return home, We found a visitor in our driveway.

I have no idea where this “little” guy came from! We did have quite a bit of rain yesterday. There are no bodies of water near my house. It was interesting to see him!

I am glad we caught him in time to get a picture. Mom looked it up and said it seemed to be a snapping turtle. He was making his entrance into the neighbors yard soon after we returned.

Our neighbor informed us that Tuesday we had a deer in our yard. I guess we were gone to church and missed that one. You never know what you're seeing at the beach cottage!

Thank you for reading. See you tomorrow!

Testimony And A Reminder

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for reading today. I am here to praise God!

Yesterday afternoon, my Mamaw Martha was released from the hospital! She is home, resting and regaining her strength.

Our family collectively is so thankful for God’s help! His goodness is still amazing! We are grateful that Mamaw is doing much better!

I have had a great week physically. Monday, I wrote about the extra special touch the Lord blessed me with on Sunday evening!

I have felt God's sweet presence near me all week. I have basked in His help. My strength has been better than it has been in a while!

I thank God for every ounce of extra strength! I praise God for each little victory. I am closer to my miracle than I was yesterday!

Last week, I told you about Voices From the Valley on YouTube. Several, let me know that they enjoyed last week's episode. I just wanted to remind you one more time about this great devotional each week.

BHC released Pastor Brent Gabbard’s second episode yesterday. Check it out here I know you will be blessed! Mom and I enjoyed it immensely.

He is in the book of Philippians right now. Its a powerful book! Bro. Brent is bringing us the word so eloquently!

I will close for now.

2025 Mother’s Day Weekend Recap

 Hey Friends,

I am so glad you stopped by to visit with us. I hope your week is going well!

Here is a quick update on my Mamaw. Mom and I spent some time with them at the hospital yesterday afternoon. She was still very weak, but improving!

The doctor was pleased with her progress and her numbers. The plan was for her to go home sometime today!

She wanted me to thank everyone for their prayers and concern for her. Thank God for answering our prayers!

I have some photos from our weekend to share with you. On Saturday, we spent time with my Uncle Danny Morgan and his family, Gran and Papaw. We had a great day with them!

The weather was perfect for a zoo day, so we visited the Columbus, Ohio, zoo. It was extremely crowded!

We were thrilled to spend the day enjoying sunshine and family. Although I only captured a handful of pictures, countless memories were made! This was little Kolby’s first zoo trip.

Sunday afternoon we also had more Morgan family time. Mom and I decided to surprise everyone and show up for the Mother's Day family dinner.

With two services at our church on Sunday, my mom being in the hospital And my mom's parents live an hour and a half away, I did not know if we could pull it off. The day was jampacked full, but I am so glad that we were able to be with my grandmother for a little while on Mother's Day.

Saturday and Sunday both we did spend some time with my Boggs Grandparents! I did not take any pictures of my Mamaw since she was in the hospital. Sick or not, she is still beautiful!

Here is a picture from a few weeks ago! I love both Mamaw and Papaw dearly!

We will wrap it up with a few pictures that I snapped during church on Sunday. We are blessed to be part of DRPC!

See you all tomorrow!

Mamaw Update And Monday Meditation

 Hey Friends,

Mamaw Update

Thank you for praying for my sweet Mamaw, and thank the Lord for helping her! We went to see her yesterday afternoon. At that point, she was still in Afib. Mamaw did not want to have her heart shocked this morning.

Not long after we left the hospital, we received an update. Then her heart rate was back to normal and staying there!

Praise the Lord! I  am so thankful for some good news! We are continuing to pray for a complete recovery.

I want God to give her supernatural strength, which only comes from Him! Just being 80 years old does not disqualify her from a miracle! Nothing is impossible with God!

Monday Meditation

Our pastor, Bro. Bennie Sutherland preached a masterpiece last night. It was on faith and believing in miracles. I wish all of you had been there to hear it in person! There is no way that I can describe the wonderful message to you here today.

I will tell you this: The Lord met me powerfully last night! My heart is overflowing! I may not be walking yet, but I expect it to happen anytime!

I am beyond grateful that the Lord blessed me so mightily. The visitation of His spirit is a precious thing. He renewed my faith and encouraged my soul!

I have one little nugget to leave you with. I will be meditating on this for days! This was too good to wait for Sunday Sanity!

If I believe Him, I have NOTHING to lose! But if I don't believe Him, I have EVERYTHING to lose!”

Pastor Bennie D. Sutherland

5/11/25 DRPC Moraine, Ohio

Today I choose anew to believe! Here my heart’s cry!  “Lord I believe, help thou my unbelief!” Let today be the day! I am praising you God in advance! You deserve ALL the glory and the honor!

Thank you, friends, for reading! I will see you all tomorrow.

Happy Mother’s Day 2025

 Hey Friends,

Please pray for my Mamaw Martha Boggs! She has not been feeling well this week. Her heart is back in Afib. Currently, she is in the hospital. The doctors have her on medication, trying to regulate her heart. She will be in the hospital for a few days.

Please join us in praying for her speedy and complete recovery. Also, pray that she can get some good rest!

Thank you for stopping by to visit me on a Sunday. Did you happen to read the Beautiful post? My Mom wrote yesterday? She did a fabulous job honoring both of my grandmothers. You can check it out by clicking here.

I hope you are having a fantastic Mother's Day! May God bless all the wonderful women! Many of you have had a special influence on our lives, and we are so thankful for each and every one of you.

I interrupt the regular scheduled blog programming to honor a very special person! I cannot let the special day pass without mentioning Mama.

God picked out the perfect Mother just for me! I have always known that she was a jewel, and she has been my hero.

WOW, this year I appreciate her even more! I am watching her persevere daily. A whole new life, and boat load of responsibilities fell into her lap six months ago.

Mom has handled it with grace and class. I am not saying that she does not struggle, but we get through together. Our bond is stronger than ever!

Mother,
I am so proud of you as a person, and I am proud to be your daughter! Thank you for being a Godly Influence in my life. You have always pointed me toward God.

You have led me by experience that we can overcome the obstacles of life. We do not have to let the tough times get us down! I know you do not believe it, but you are awesome!

I hope and pray that you feel abundantly loved and appreciated today!  I love you with all of my heart! Words fail me to adequately express my gratitude!

Thank you once again for reading! I will see you tomorrow.

I Am Thankful For Our Mothers!

Hello,

Surprise, it is Kelly Jo writing to you. Happy Mother's Day!

Today I am giving Odie a break from writing. I think she is doing a wonderful job carrying on her Dad’s daily blogs. I wanted to borrow her writing space and tell you something on my heart.

As most of you already know, my husband, Davy, was a wonderful man with a heart toward God. Over the years, he developed a wonderful ministry that helped saints and reached sinners.

Much of his effectiveness can be attributed to his diligence to study, preparation and pure desire to reach all the people he could.

There is one more contributing factor, his praying Mother. Davy often told us about the impression his mom left on him by praying by his bedside each night.

I am convinced her prayers played a big part in shaping who he was for the Lord. Therefore, shaping the path for the wonderful years I had with him before he went on to Heaven to receive his reward.

I cherish all the time we had on the road traveling for God.  So I want to thank my Mother-in-law, Martha Boggs, for being such a great woman and helping to make Davy into a man with a place in his heart for God. I have benefited greatly from it.

I also want to pay tribute to my own Mother, Betty Morgan.

Growing up I was encouraged so much to play music and sing with all I had in me.

She took me to church and exposed my life to great worship. That helped establish my direction toward God.  She always reminded me that gifts come from God and to always use any gifts I had for Him.

She was a cheerleader for me then and she still is today! I am forever grateful for everything she has helped me accomplish in my life by her encouragement to use what God has given me.

So a little encouragement, if you are a young mother or even a Mom with grown kids, remember that your words and your actions can help shape and guide your child into being something great for God!

You can have a part in what they may do for God someday!   I think that is amazing! What we as Mom’s say and do can be forever in their hearts.

Thank you for listening to me today!
