Memorial Day

Memorial day is a time to remember our loved ones. Also it Is a special time to be thankful for those who gave their lives for our freedom! Many folks use the day off work and school to enjoy the beginning of summer.
Before the BoggsMobile hit the road we spent some time with family. It was great food, fellowship and fun. Papaw has a nice barn. It becomes the hang out place in nice weather. Thankfully the rain held off so we could have beautiful day!
Mamaw and Aunt Theresa got an Ice Cream cake from Dairy Queen. The cake was for Papaw's belated birthday and Mom and Dad's anniversary next month.
Now the BoggsMobile is headed toward Kansas. I must say it was great to be around home for awhile but it feels good to be rolling down the road again.

Alumni Banquet Waynesville High School

Kelly Jo and I attended the 127th annual Waynesville High School
Alumni Banquet tonight (Saturday) along with a few hundred other
graduates dating back to the early 1930's. In fact, both my brothers
and their wives, my sister and her husband and my parents attended the
banquet as well. It was quite an evening.

This year marks 25 years since I graduated from high school. I
have never been very sentimental about my high school experience and I
have certainly never longed for those days to return. You might say
that when they handed the diploma to me that I hit the door running
and never looked back. I had finally been set free!

But it was good too see some of the people again. Most of them I
hadn't seen since graduation. Some looked completely different and
some looked exactly the same just a few years older. I am glad we
attended. Maybe I'll go back for my 50th.

Afterward we drove to Berea, KY. We will finish the drive in the
morning to Bond, KY. We are looking forward to the Sunday services
there AND Sis. Ann Gabbards good cooking.

God bless,
Davy

Happy Birthday, Eugene Boggs

Today is a special day and we are actually home to help celebrate. My Papaw has a birthday today!
I can't imagine life with out Papaw. He is a wonderful husband to Mamaw, father of four and Papaw to seven grandchildren. We all love him so very much.
He selflessly gives of his time, always helping someone else. It is wonderful to have a Papaw who loves God. I love to watch him at church. God answered many prayers when He saved Papaw. I count it a privilege and honor to call him my Papaw!
Picture 1. Papaw enjoy the creek on a HOT day at Carter Caves, Kentucky.
Picture 2. Dad and Papaw in Tennessee last fall.
Picture 3. This was Wednesday night at Anchor of Hope Papaw praying with my cousin Lucas. It was a precious "Kodak" moment.
Picture 4. Today we had lunch at a Mexican Restaurant and the sang to him.

Happy Birthday, Papaw!!!!!!!!!

Crusair condenser units

These are the three Crusair condenser units that Dad and I took out
of the BoggsMobile Monday. It was quite a job. Dad worked so hard and
it was very hot. He might be a little less enthusiastic to see me come
home next time.

My brother Tommy picked them up this morning so he could try to
sell them on eBay for me. Two of them are in great shape. I know that
if I could have found a used unit last May in Arizona and California
when one of these went out I would have been thrilled. It gets hot in
here when it's 90-100 outside. Maybe I can be a blessing to someone in
the same position and make a little money too! Keep your fingers
crossed.

We started a short revival last night at Anchor of Hope near
Lebanon, Ohio last night with Pastor Bill Lamb. The Lord helped in the
altar service. Pray for us the next two nights in this meeting.

Sunday we are planning to travel to Bond, KY to preach in the
Sunday services for Bro. John Gabbard and his fine folks at Bond
Holiness Church. We are really looking forward to that. That's like
home to us and has been for years.

Take care.

Kelly Jo With An Even Bigger Celebrity!

Here is another picture in the on going series of Kelly Jo with
celebrities. First she posed with The Geico Gecko, then the Frisch's
Big Boy and now the gentle, lovable and super talented Ben Isaacs.

Speaking of super talented, The Issacs were singing less than 10
miles from us on Sunday night so we drove over in the afternoon and
visited for a little while. It was good to see Aunt Lily, Ben, Sonia,
Becky, Levi, Jakobi and all the rest. Wish we could have spent more
time with them all. We think the world of the whole family but the
picture of Kelly Jo and Ben just happens to be the only picture I
snapped with my phone.

Though I'm half joking when I call Ben a celebrity, he is a very
important part of our lives. He is not only family, my trouble
shooting consultant for the BoggsMobile, our record producer, the go-
to-guy for sound issues but he is also one of our dearest friends!

I wonder who Kelly Jo will show up with next? Any suggestions?
Leave a comment with your ideas.

Highway of Holiness, Hamilton, Ohio

We spent the weekend at Highway of Holiness in Hamilton, Ohio.
This was the weekend they honor their graduates and this year there
was only one. His name is Austin Griffitts. We have known Austin and
his family since he was five so we were honored when Pastor Jerry
Pascarella called and asked us to be a part of the banquet service on
Saturday night. We had a wonderful time.

Bro. Pascarella had invited us to stay for the Sunday services and
I am so glad we were able to do so. The folks from Highway have been
so very kind to us through the years and this time was no exception.
We had a great time.

The next two days Dad is helping me with some things on the
BoggsMobile. One thing we are doing is removing the old air
conditioners. One of them has not worked for over a year and the
others are not needed since I added the roof airs last fall. Thank God
for the new roof airs. We are much cooler than last year! Removing the
old units from underneath will give me a little more room for storage
which we always need.

Keep in touch. We love to hear from you.

We Love You Uncle Wendell Howard

We have had a good week this week. Sunday-Wednesday we were in Brooks, Kentucky. God met us at Calvary Holiness Church. Thanks to Pastor Doug Webb for your hospitality to our family!
Thursday we made the journey home to Waynesville, Ohio. It was great to make it home for the first time this year. Also we had the treat of going to our home church Thursday night. It was good to be at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church with our Pastor Bro. Bennie Sutherland.
Moms Uncle passed away this morning. As I write this we are headed to Paintsville, Kentucky for his viewing. Then we will head back to Ohio for church this weekend. We are looking forward to being with Pastor Jerry Pascarella at The Highway of Holiness Saturday and Sunday.

Enjoy Heaven, Bro. David Sims

Bro. David Sims Pastor of Calvary Holiness Church in Opp, Alabama was promoted to Heaven Sunday. He is greatly missed by his family, church and friends. I know Bro. David is rejoicing in Heaven today! He is with Jesus forever and will suffer no more from the things that bothered him on earth!
Bro. David has been a friend to our family for years. He and his family have supported our revivals in their area and have always welcomed to their church in Opp. It was always an encouragement to see his smiling face.
Dad and Bro. David shared a kindred bond with their love of Mexican food! When you visited two of the local Mexican restaurants with Bro. David you received royal treatment. He was like a member of their families! As you can tell from Bro David's tie, He liked things HOT!
We will miss our friend very much! We look forward to seeing him on the other side very soon. Please keep Sis Ova Lee, Jonathan, Mark, Amber and the Calvary Holiness Church in your prayers.

Kelly Jo With Another Celebrity

This is a picture of Kelly Jo with another celebrity. But
this one is an old friend. His name is Big Boy and we have known him
for as long as we can remember.

We closed revival last night in Central City and headed to Brooks,
KY this afternoon. Brooks is in the Louisville area and as we arrived
we realized we would be in Frisch's territory. We haven't been to
Frisch's since December so away we went.

Now, it's not a fancy place but for folks that grew up in or near
southern Ohio like us, Frisch's is a little slice of home. It is
always one of the first places we go as we near home. There's
nothing quite like a Big Boy hamburger with extra tartar sauce. This
afternoon I added the salad bar and it was good and fresh. It was
nice to see you again Mr. Big Boy!

Tomorrow morning we start revival here at Calvary Holiness
Church. We are anxious to see what the Lord has in store for Pastor
Doug Webb and the great folks here. There's no telling what God will
do for His people. Pray for us.

God bless you all.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Today is a day that is set aside to celebrate Mothers. A mother's work is never ending. A Mom is on call 24hrs a day 7 days a week. So I want to wish all of you mothers a Happy Mother's Day!
I thank God He saw fit to bless me with " The World's Best Mother"! From the beginning my Mom's motherhood has not been easy. Because I decided to come two months early her life was put in danger. I spent 27 days in the hospital before coming home. Mom was there with me as much possible. Close to two years of age is when I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Those two years were full of hardships for my mom.
All through my life my Mom has been there for me. She is my biggest encourager and critic. Mom selflessly gives of her time and strength. I can never thank her enough!!
Mom is known for her awesome piano playing. I am very proud of her! She definitely uses the gift God has given her. She also does lots of behind the scenes work on the BoggsMobile and for Boggs Family Ministries. Again she does it all so selflessly!
Also Mom is know for her craziness, tricks and her love to have good time. She does make life fun! You should try living life with her. LOL
Mom, I love you so much! You are my Bucky- to quote and old friend Rosy from Jersey, Georgia. Also I have two wonderful Grandmothers, Betty Morgan "Gran" and Martha Boggs "Mamaw". I love you both very much! Thanks for being the best at your Job of Grandmothers!

Beechfork Holiness Church/Pastor Herman Woods

We have spent the week in Tennessee in revival at Beechfork Holiness Church. We have been coming here since 1988 and it feels like home with all our friends here. Pastor Herman Woods and his wife Sis. Margaret have been like second parents to us for nearly 25 years. We have had a wonderful time.
Today we ate lunch with the Woods and dear Sis. Eason and it was great. Sis. Eason is a Godly woman and has also been a part of our lives for many years. We have certainly been blessed with many friends.
Tonight is supposed to be the last night of revival and tomorrow we move on to Central City, KY.
God bless,

Davy

The Boyds CD is Available!

In an earlier post I told you about Pastor Tracy Boyd, His wife
Sis. Shea and their three girls. They went to Nashville and recorded
a CD. The recording turned out great! All the proceeds from the sale
of the CD goes directly to the building fund of their church,
Sterlington Holiness Tabernacle in Sterlington, Louisiana. They have
been building a new church and they have been building debt free.
They need this CD to sell well to raise much needed funds for the
completion of their new church. They are selling the CD for $15 but I
am sure they would not reject larger donations. You will love the CD
and your donation would be a great help. They are super great people
and have a wonderful congregation of fine folks. I have listed their
phone number below.
Thanks and God bless.

Kelly Jo Meets the Gecko from Geico!

In our travels we sometimes have a chance to meet folks that some count as famous. It is not a super big deal but to meet or see someone famous is kind of cool now and then. Recently we ran across what could be the most famous character we have met to date. We met the one responsible for saving Americans millions of dollars on their car insurance, the one and only Gecko! He was quite busy so we didn't get to discuss the possibility of Geico sponsoring the BoggsMobile and plastering his cute little face on the side of it but Kelly Jo did get close enough for a picture and a quick hug! Wow! You never know what excitement you will find out here on the open road!

A Few Assorted Food Pictures

Hey Friends,

I am a little behind in posting food pictures. It is not that I haven't been eating well but I am usually about half way through the great meal before I remember all my friends that would like to have a picture. I tried pictures of half eaten plates of delicious food but it doesn't quite cut it. Hope you all like these.

That being said, the first picture is half of a boneless chicken breast stuffed with pork, onions, parsley and a secret blend of spices. I cut it open so you could see the stuffing on the inside. It came from the grocery in Pine Prairie the home of all the Gautreauxs and Juneaus. We have much more of food like that in the freezer for later this summer.

The second picture is a Double Jumbo from the Hickory Pit in Elba, Alabama provided by Bro. John and Sis. Heidi Isaacs. That was Quite a Cheeseburger!

The third picture is a Hot Fudge Cake from Shoney's in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.(The Best Shoney's in the World) It is in a bowl because that is how I ask for it in order to accommodate the extra hot fudge. The waitress apologized for getting carried away with the extra hot fudge but I told her it was fine, I would deal with it and I did!

The final picture is a wonderful Cheeseburger from Five Guys and Fries! Wonderful!

Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
