A Great Day In Richton, Mississippi

It was a great day in Richton, Mississippi yesterday. It started with a beautiful sunrise over the Gospel tent and improved all day.

The service Sunday morning was in the church. There was a great crowd. They responded wonderful to the preaching and they built my excitement about tent revival this week. Thee folks are always ready to have church. That makes it a lot easier on me!

We had a nice delicious lunch with Pastor Scott Morris and his family. The rest of the day was spent in preparation and a little rest. The afternoon flew by and before I knew it we were setting up for the first service under the tent.

There was a lot of excitement in the air even during sound check. I could feel it right down in my bones.

The people started gathering in early and the crowd was tremendous by the time Pastor Scott Morris started the service at 7:00.

Although we did not have any folks in the altar seeking salvation Sunday night we did have a really good altar service. We are believing God for several folks to be saved this week. Help us pray about that if you will. We always have a great tent revival in Richton and we are expecting this one to be the best.

We will have more Richton tent revival pictures later in the week.  Thanks for reading.

View Out The Front Window September 21, 2015

Here is the view we had all last week in Millry, Alabama. These pictures are going to remind us for long time of the blessings from God we received in Millry under the Gospel Tent. Wow! Pastor Lamar Chapman and his folks and all the churches in the Millry area worked so hard and God honored them for it by sending revival. They all  treated us so well. It was a wonderful week.

We took the tent down Friday night after a great service. We had moved the BoggsMobile Friday afternoon to the pavement.

So after the tent was down, loaded and strapped in Bro. Hunter moved the trailer to the road. Kelly Jo backed the bus into place and we hooked up and hit the road. Pastor Scott Morris and some from his church came to tent revival in Millry Friday night. Bro. Scott helped take everything down and then rode back to Richton with us. They helped us get the trailer and the bus parked in Richton. By the time we parted company it was 1:00 Saturday morning and it was time to set up the tent in Richton in just a few hours.

Honestly I felt about half dead after preaching hard all week, taking down the tent, driving to Richton and parking the bus. I was awake early but had to drag myself to the front of the bus. I raised the window shade to look outside where the tent was going to go up and felt a rush of excitement about tent revival. I did not plan it or work it up. The excitement was there from deep within. This is going to be another great week.

A few hours later and the tent was ready to go.

The tent is now up and we anticipating revival in the city park in Richton, Mississippi.

Here is our view for this week.

We begin this morning in the church and move to the tent tomorrow evening. Thanks for praying for us.

Eight Twenty Eight

Hello my friends!  Odie updating today. I am typing this early because we should raising the tent in Richton, Mississippi this morning.  I hope you had super week. We had an amazing time in Millry, Alabama. I am sure that next week we will have some pictures of the tent coming down in Millry and going back up in Richton.

Pastor Lamar Chapman and Midway Assembly did a great job hosting the revival this week. The people of Millry really want to see their community won to Christ. It is wonderful to work with folks hungry for more of God! Many area churches were very supportive of revival. We are thankful for all the local help! It was a huge boost to us.

The Lord met us in a special way each service!   Thank you all for your prayers for revival in Millry. The weather was warm but bearable. The rain held off and we were able to have all seven services under the tent. That was a huge blessing in light of the forecast for heavy storms early in the week.

Several months ago I came across the site of Ian and Larissa Murphy. I do not know them personally but their story has encouraged me. Their resolve has strengthened my faith in God.

Ian and Larissa met in college and had big dreams. Life intervened and threw them for a loop. Ian suffered a life changing brain injury in a car accident. In the midst of this unexpected curve the family held onto Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

On 8/28/2010 they were able to fulfill their dream of marriage. On 8/28/2014 their book released. You can read a free chapter and buy the book at the link.

Eight Twenty Eight When Love Didn't Give Up is a story of dedication, determination and devotion. I shed several tears while reading the book.  To me it is a blessing when I can be reminded that I can overcome overwhelming obstacles!  I am reminded again that there are others out there whose battle is way tougher than mine. I have a ton to be thankful for!

I appreciate Ian and Larissa sharing their story. I am praying for them.

Ian and Larissa, you inspire me!

Have a terrific weekend.  May God bless all of you!
