City Reach Tulsa - Revival In Pictures

This is the second batch of pictures from City Reach Tulsa. The first batch is HERE. I hope you enjoy the pictures. It was a great meeting and we loved the whole week. Thank God for His help and blessings.

Thanks for checking in today.

This gives you a view from of our whole set up from across the parking lot.

Bro. and Sis. Radcliffe came out from Illinois to attend their grandson's wedding and to spend some time with their son Jimmie AND to be with us in revival. It was great to have them.

#25 Weekend Woundup And Weview

I need to begin this weekend post with two schedule changes.

City Reach OKC

First, City Reach OKC will now go through Friday July 1st instead of Sunday July 3rd. There was a conflict in scheduling with some of the churches because of youth camp obligations that weekend and the next week. Please help us get the word out to others that might attend, City Reach OKC will be Sunday - Friday, June 26 - July 1.

Boston

Secondly, the revival at Bethel Revival Center in Boston scheduled for August 3-7 has been postponed. The congregation had secured another building and had put their very large complex of buildings on the market. Much to their surprise AND delight they have a solid contract on it already. The timing of the sale and move made revival at that time impossible so we will go at a later date.

Weekend Woundup and Weview

We have had some help watching the tent this week and we really, really appreciate it. It sure takes a load off of me, Kelly Jo and Bro. Jimmy. Some of that help came Saturday afternoon so we could all attend the funeral of Bro. Don Cummins at Bethany Holiness Church. Bro. Jimmie was playing the bass and we were singing.

We met Bro. Terry Cummins many years ago and later Bro. Don and his wife and another son Bro. Galen and his wife. They have been dear friends through the years and it was an honor to sing at Bro. Don's funeral. We are often out of range and in the wrong part of the country for funerals and I am glad we were right here for this one.

Bro. Don has been sick and suffering for quite a while and he was ready to go to Heaven and his family was ready to release him. That does not make this any easier for them, especially for his wife and three sons right here at Father's Day. Please pray that God will help them.

Shortly after arriving back at the tent site, it began to really thunder and I pulled up the weather on my phone. The chance of rain was very slim.

Then I received a text from just east of the tent and they said is was raining buckets full there. In a few moments the buckets of rain started at the tent and it rained a pile of water in just a few minutes.

Just staring to rain.

It was a strange storm with lots of wind and bunches of rain and it was moving rapidly from east to west. The rain lasted a while and then stopped like someone turned off the faucet! All of us under the tent looked at each other like, "Did I hear what i thought I heard?" The heavy rain stopped just like THAT.

It rained so much and so fast that the parking lot was flooded by the bus door with several inches of water. KJ improvised using some bags as galoshes in order to get out of the bus.

It may look funny but it works. I had to do the same thing to get out of the bus after I had my dress clothes and shoes on.

There was nothing on the radar behind the quick storm so we set up the sound system after the rain moved through. I am so glad we did. The weather was beautiful by church time. We had more visitors from the community, as we have had every night, and God was touching and helping in the altar. It was great to see! God healed some hearts Saturday night.

Sunday morning, before it became too hot, we did some of the work that needs to be done so that taking the tent down is easier after church Sunday night. That includes taking down the lights and power cords. Church started at 6:00 and we did not need the lights during service.

I took these pictures from the top of the ladder at the last pole. I think it gives you an interesting perspective.

This was Sunday lunch. I have one word for you, Wow!

Bro. Jimmie worked most of the day preparing the trailer for inserting the chairs and tent. He works so hard and alleviates a lot of the work load from me and Kelly Jo. I appreciate his diligence and work.

Sunday was hot again but it gave things a chance to dry out after Saturday's soaking. The temperature actually was not too bad by church time.

The final service Sunday night was outstanding from the beginning. God moved in the very first song as the people worshiped Him. We had folks praying for salvation as we did every night of City Reach Tulsa and we are very thankful to God for that.

We will have more pictures from Sunday night later in the week.

These folks came to have church Sunday night but they also came to work. We said the final Amen at 8:06 and the chairs, sound system, the tent and all the extras were down, in the trailer, strapped in place and ready to ride at 8:53. That is 47 minutes. That is the new world record for the big tent set up!

We will also have more pictures of the tent take down later.

We had a glitch in our house electric on the bus during church Sunday night and I have not gotten to the bottom of it yet. Right now the electric is working fine so I will go to bed and investigate and ask experts when I get up. I fear I may have a damaged inverter which is a big deal on this bus. I will keep you posted.

We pulled out of the city park, fueled up at Flying J in Tulsa, emptied the holding tanks and arrived at Bethany Revival Center in Wichita, Kansas 200 miles later about 1:45 AM. We parked in our spot and breathed a big sigh of relief when the electric worked when we plugged in!

That pretty much wraps up the weekend. Thank you for tuning in. I am going to hit the "Publish" button and go to bed for 12 hours! Yeah Right!

View Out The Front Window June 19, 2016

This was originally posted Sunday morning June 19, 2016. At some point in the last week it was eaten alive by gremlins and completely disappeared from the blog and even from our record of what has been posted. Odie receives an email when a post is published and she sent this to me so I could re-post it.

Check out our posts from the last week at the links below.

We are having a joyous week at City Reach Tulsa. The weather has been hot and humid but the services have been wonderful in spite of the sticky conditions. It is definitely good for weight loss. Thank for praying for us this week.

This is our view out the front window at Fred Johnson City Park.

This is our view out the front door.

We did not know if we they would allow us to park here all week but no one has said a word about it. It is very nice to park so close to the tent.

The last service of City Reach Tulsa is scheduled for tonight at 6:00 PM. We are expecting one more great service before we go! When the last Amen is said, we plan to take everything down and pack it all away. We should be on our way toward Wichita by midnight and hopefully way before then.

I hope you have a super great Sunday.

Happy Father's Day 2016

Hello Friends,

It is Odie writing today from City Reach Tulsa. This week of City Reach has been marvelous. Every night the excitement keeps building. Thank God that people from the community are coming each night and praying in the altar. We still have two more services, tonight and tomorrow. I am anticipating great things for those services.

Dad wrote a great post yesterday. He even had me laughing out loud when he was picking on me near the end. It really was funny when it happened and even funnier looking back on it three years later.

Dad also mentioned Father's day in that post. He wrote about my awesome Grandfathers and honored them both. I am so thankful and so blessed to have had them in my life from day one. I anticipate having them for many more years to come.

I love my Papaw Eugene and Papaw Danny so much. I make sure that all of the other fabulous grandchildren on both sides of the family know that I was the only grandchild for many, many years. That means my grandfathers may not love me more than the others but they have loved me a lot longer!

Today I want to talk about my wonderful Papa. I am a blessed girl in the Daddy department. Dad works so hard! Many of the years we were living at home, Dad worked two jobs or worked a job and side work. We have been back in full time ministry for 17 years and I think he works more now than he ever did.

He is always doing something for our family, the ministry and for others. He loves people and he loves God. His vision of City Reach has added to his work load but when I see him under the tent reaching for and embracing the people in our cities that are lost and hurting, I know he is the happiest he has ever been.

My Dad is a man of many hats, so many that I can not name them all. He does it all without much recognition so maybe you will not mind if I recognize him here this morning.

Daddy I love you so much! Thank you for being an amazing, Godly Father! I am proud of you and proud to be your number one daughter!

Happy Fathers Day!!

I hope you have a fabulous Father's Day weekend. Here are some pics of my Papa, just in case you have forgotten what he looks like.

A Non City Reach Post

Maybe some of you are ready for a non City Reach post. If so, then this is the day for you. I am constantly putting things back to post and most of it never sees the light of day again. We usually have plenty to write about each day especially with a good City Reach campaign going on in Tulsa with folks getting saved and all that good stuff.

I guess I need to write some times about something different than an alcoholic being delivered, a muslim man embracing Christ, a praying mother's son getting saved, a young couple from the neighborhood pouring their hearts out to God in the altar or Bro. Noah Martinez's comment on this post about 11 people still attending the church from City Reach.

Oops, I slipped right back into City Reach mode.

I just can not help myself because I love what God is doing! It is hot here! It is humid here! But the joy I feel is hard to express. God is moving every night under the tent and I am more than a little excited! Praise God for His faithfulness. Praise God for His love, mercy and grace. Praise God for the power of the Gospel!

Thank you for indulging me talking about City Reach in this non City Reach post. I know that many of you are a little excited as well. God bless you for it.

Non City Reach

Father's Day

First and foremost, Sunday is Father's Day! Kelly Jo and I are very blessed to have both of our fathers alive and well and active in our lives. My father and Kelly Jo's father have both been hard workers that provided well and that care deeply for their families. They love our mothers and have set great examples for us to follow in life.

We are very blessed indeed! We both would like to wish our Dads a very happy Father's Day on Sunday. By God's grace, we will see you soon. We love you both very much!

Happy Father's Day, Eugene Boggs

And my all time favorite picture of my Dad.

Happy Father's Day, Danny Morgan!

All of our parents.

A1 Sauce

Second on the adgenda, A1 Sauce. Just your normal bottle of A1 Original Sauce in a restaurant we visited recently.

Until I looked at the back of the bottle.

Steak Doesn't Own Me
I'm my own sauce.
I go where I please.
If I want to be on a baked potato,
I'll be on a baked potato
And that baked potato will love me.

That is great whether you like A1 or not! It definitely portrays a saucy attitude!

Crocs

I found a new pair of Crocs a month or so ago.

These are an exact replacement for the ones that Odie gave me for Christmas a few years ago. They have been my favorite everyday pair and have been way past wearing for quite some time. I kept wearing them in spite of the facts and nearly hurt myself a few times on wet pavement since the tread was gone. Crocs will never be considered dressy enough to wear with my suits (And that makes be a little sad) but these look a little better than the normal clunky Crocs I love.

Pacific Ocean

We did finally make it to the Pacific Ocean while we were in California a while back but I do not think I posted pictures. If there are no pictures, then it did not happen. Here is the proof.

Windmills

I also saved these pictures to show you the windmills in California. Unless you have seen this, there is no way to describe the massive size of these things and the overwhelming number of them.

Kelly Jo In Public

I had also saved a picture from one of Kelly Jo and Odie's shopping trips. I think this was from California too. I am very glad that Odie goes with Kelly Jo so she can document her escapades. I am not sure if they were thrown out of this particular mall or not!

I also ran across an old post from July 2013 that made me laugh out loud. Yep, you read it here, I laughed out loud at my own post. Actually, while that is technically true, I was really laughing out loud at my precious daughter.

We were in Wisconsin on our way to revival in North Dakota and my sister and her husband stopped by one afternoon for a visit. They were on a work trip and came right through our location with their family. It was good to get together.

We took a few pictures that day. This first one was taken with Odie's iPhone 4S. The 4S was state of the art at that time. It had an excellent camera for a cell phone.

I took this one a few moments later with my iPhone 4. I was facing the same direction and had pretty much identical lighting. Never mind whatever my sister was doing to her son's pants.

Can you see how much clearer my picture is? Several of the pictures that Odie took that day had that same "foggy" look for lack of a technical term. My iPhone camera can not be so much better as to account for that much difference. Especially since Odie's phone has taken some great pictures in the past.

Odie changes phone covers/cases pretty often and I know that some covers can interfere with the camera. As I was getting that post together Odie was sitting across from me on the couch of the BoggsMobile.

I said to Odie, "Did you have that cover on when you took these pictures today?" She said "No?" She said it with a very strange questioning tone. Her tone was a mix between confusion and sarcasm, a little bit of bewilderment and a little bit of "Dad, are you crazy?"

It took us a moment to put all the pieces together. Odie was really confused. Do you see the red blanket over her lap? She thought I was asking if she had on that RED COVER/BLANKET on when she took the pictures earlier in the day. I was asking about the orange cover/case that she was holding in her hand.

This is Odie when she realized what she had thought and said.

It was hilarious.

We came to the conclusion that the orange Lifeproof cover/case can distort her pictures but the red cover/blanket has NOTHING to do with it.

Like I said, I laughed out loud when I read that again. Thanks for reading today.
