Revival In Pictures - Atwater, California

Three short nights went way to fast with our brothers and sisters in Atwater, California. We love being with Pastor Jared Burris and all of our dear friends at Amazing Grace Tabernacle. We enjoyed every moment of fellowship, every morsel of food and every move of God's Spirit. We look forward to returning as soon as possible.

We are planning to leave here in a few hours but we do not fly back to Mississippi until Friday. When we planned this quick trip we hoped to go to the coast or to the mountains and recharge two nights and a day. But we are thinking of going south to L.A. to explore possibilities for City Reach. I supposed I need to make up my mind soon.

Since this is a Revival In Pictures post, it is really all about the pictures. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for reading.

Same Place One Year Ago

We are having a great little revival at Amazing Grace in Atwater, California. We love being here with Pastor Jared Burris and all of his fine folks. They are super great people and wonderful long time friends.

Odie reminded me that we were here for revival and the new church dedication exactly one year ago. The dedication service was on October 25th and the week long revival closed on the 26th. HERE and HERE are pictures from the revival and you can see pictures from the dedication service HERE and HERE.

In some ways it is hard to believe that it has been a year since the dedication service. That was a wonderful day and it will always be a highlight in our lives. I was so sick that day but the Spirit of God was so amazing and He felt so close that day. It was a very memorable day and week.

Looking through those pictures I saw some that Kelly Jo took in Kings Canyon National Park. Regan Morris visited us that week and Kelly Jo and Odie took her to see a few of the big Sequoias on the way to the airport. They went early in the morning and captured the light perfectly.

This is one of the pictures below and HERE are a few more posted that week.

One of the reasons we write this blog on an almost daily basis is so we can record details of trips, revivals, meals, bus repairs and friends in a searchable format. It is amazing how many times we need to know something and we search the blog because we know we wrote about it. Looking at the pictures is an extra bonus.

That is how this post started. I searched to see if Odie was correct in her timing and she was! The posts and pictures from one year ago took us right back to that special time. I am thankful for exciting times that create wonderful memories and for a great place to keep record of them. I hope you enjoy the memories as they happen and find their way here.

Thanks for reading.

Weekend Woundup and Weview October 26

We had full intentions of driving to Kings Canyon National Park or Sequoia National Park to see the big trees on Friday. We have been there numerous times and it is one of our favorite places in California. However, when we arrived back at the hotel very late Thursday night/early Friday morning we decided a rest day was in order.

We thought we would go to church Friday and hear Larnelle Harris and then maybe feel more like driving on Saturday. Although we did go to Riverdale and hear Larnelle Friday (You can see the pictures HERE) we still did not feel like driving Saturday so we pretty much rested most of the day again. I guess all the travel and excitement of the week topped off with an incredible Friday night had wore us out.

Bro. and Sis. Spencer came up to the Denny's across the road from our hotel and treated us to a late breakfast Saturday morning. We enjoyed that very much. The meal was good but the fellowship was much better.

We checked out of the hotel about 9:00 Sunday morning and headed to Fresno for church. We arrived at Souls Harbor in plenty of time to enjoy a good visit with folks as they came in. We have been having church with these folks for over 23 years and we love being with them. We had a great service Sunday morning followed by a great meal.

After lunch we turned north and arrived in Atwater about 3:45. We freshened up a bit and we were at church by 5:30 and ready to go. We were at Amazing Grace one year ago for revival and for their building dedication. It some ways it is hard to believe that a year has flown by. It is great to be back.

We had a good service Sunday night with a wonderful response in the altar. We are looking forward to two more great nights with our friends here.

We did not get many pictures last night but I am sure we will have few more by the time we are ready to leave.

I hope you had a super great weekend! Thanks for reading.

View Out The Front Window October 25, 2015

Check out our posts from the last week at the links below.

Here's the view out the front window of the BoggsMobile where it is parked in Richton, Mississippi.

Here's the view out the front door.

This has been our view out the window the last five nights in California.

This morning we move on to Fresno for service at Souls Harbor Holiness Church and then on to Amazing Grace Tabernacle in Atwater for Sunday night. We are looking forward to a great Sunday and we hope you have one too.

Friday Night in Riverdale

Hey friends, it is Odie writing today from California. We have had a wonderful few days at the 50th Anniversary of Riverdale Assembly of God. It was an honor to be a part of this great event! We love all our friends at Riverdale!

I am thankful for Pastor Charles and Sis. Wilma Spencer. They have been a big inspiration to us! Their dedication to God has impacted countless lives for Christ. We are blessed to have them as our dear friends!

Friday night was the last service we are able to attend of the meeting. Larnelle Harris was the featured guest for Friday night and he blew the place away. His vocal abilities amazed me.

The choir from Riverdale opened the service and later backed Larnelle on a few songs toward the end. As usual, the choir sang awesome. Sis. Sharla Metheny did a duet with Larnelle on the song "I've Just Seen Jesus". Sis. Sharla hit a home run out of the park! I was proud to say Sis. Sharla is my friend!

I will leave you with pictures from the Friday night service. Please see Thursday and Friday's post for more pictures from our time in Riverdale. Thanks to Chaz Spencer for helping me snap pictures this week.
