Mission Report by Pastor E. Ade Shobanke

Yesterday we posted our review of 2012. This post is a report of our Nigeria trip sent by Pastor Shobanke.

REPORT OF EVANGELIST DAVY AND KELLY BOGGS’ MISSION WORK IN NIGERIA: 29TH NOVEMBER TO 10TH DECEMBER, 2012
by Pastor E. Ade Shobanke

Greetings to my Brothers and Sisters in the USA,

Evangelist Davy Boggs, his wife Sister Kelly and Brother Gary Lockwood arrived in Nigeria on Thursday 29th November 2012. They were warmly welcome by Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church to Nigeria.

Brother Boggs preached  a 1-day revival in each of my two church branches in Abeokuta. God mightily touched many lives on Friday 30th and Saturday 1st December 2012 in each of the branches.
On Sunday 2nd December 2012, he preached in my main church and the whole congregation was richly blessed.

We conducted a 3-day gospel crusade at the frontage of our new church at Osara Road, Gbonogun, Abeokuta, Nigeria from Sunday 2nd through Tuesday 4th December 2012. Brother Boggs preached the gospel of power in the 3-day crusade. People came forward to the altar and prayed through. Many souls were saved and some received healing. One policeman testified to Brother Boggs of his salvation.

Before we started the crusade, we were not prepared to start service at the new church. But the last day of the crusade I announced the starting of church service the following Sunday. I did that by faith in God. Why? The church building was not yet completed, no doors, no windows, no ceiling, no electricity and there were no chairs for people to sit.

Praise the Lord, on Thursday 6th December, 2012, God used Bro. Davy Boggs and his ministry to buy sixty(60) chairs for the new church. The second miracle was that God used Bro. Boggs and Bro. Lockwood to give us $800.00 to complete the office of the church to keep the chairs and other equipment secure after each service.

The first service in the new church branch was made possible by God on Sunday 9th December, 2012. Praise the Lord. Twenty-seven (27) newly converted souls from the 3-day crusade attended the first service. There were Forty-six (46) total in attendance. The first Bible study on Tuesday had Thirty-five (35) there.

The Ministers Conference was held from Thursday 6th through Saturday 8th December at our main church. Ministers and Christian Workers from different denominations atttended. Many came and prayed through at the altar after each day.

On Sunday 9th December 2012, we traveled to Ibadan, Oyo State of Nigeria and Bro. Boggs preached at Landmark Christ Mission, Bro Kuye’s Church. The people were richly blessed.

The last day of his visit, they visited our christian school. He preached and prayed for the pupils and staff of the school.

We appreciate God for using Bro Boggs to start the first service with 27 new converts from the 3-day Gospel Crusade. I appreciate Evangelist Davy & Sis. Kelly Boggs and Bro. Gary Lockwood for their visit to Nigeria.

Thank you, we are praying for you.

Yours in Christ
Pastor E. Ade Shobanke

2012 in Review

2012 was a fun and exciting year. Our first revival of the year was in Blair, Oklahoma and our last revival before going to Nigeria and then home for Christmas was in El Mirage, Arizona. We ended the year in Neosho, Missouri and we went a lot of great places in between. God kept us safe every mile of the way.

God blessed us with some great revivals and we praise God for it. We saw many saved, healed and delivered by the power of Christ and we give Him all the glory. Every tent revival was good and we saw many souls touched in those services too. I will probably do a post soon on tent revivals last year.

All three of us made it through 2012 in fine shape physically. We all had some sickness and some aches and pains but we are very thankful that we are for the most part very healthy. Even in sickness God has been faithful to be our comfort, help and healer.

The best I could count we traveled through or to 21 states and 4 foreign countries in 2012. Plus Odie traveled to the Bahamas on her gospel singing cruise. I may have missed a state or two but 21 is close. That is not the most we have been to in a year but it was a pretty good loop. I am working on a post with maps of our route like I did for 2011. Maybe I can get that up soon. I tried doing a map of the whole year of travels and I think I shut Google maps down for a day or two!

The route in 2012 included such far flung states as Montana, Arizona and Florida but we did not make it to California. It was the first year in a long time that we did not make it to California and it does not look like we will make it this year. But we have plans to visit again in 2014 by God's grace.

We were in well over 300 services during the year and sang and preached almost 300 times. We were in a few less services than normal this year because Kelly Jo and I took two weeks and three weekends off in a row to rest up and gear up for tent revival season. We have never done that before but we have determined we will do it again. In the middle of tent revivals we felt the strength and benefit of that time of rest. It was one of the smartest things I have ever done.

The BoggsMobile and our other cars did good this year. We drove the General until March and then sold it. We bought the Green Machine in May and we love the gas mileage.

We had some episodes of mechanical trouble, repairs, and even some down time on the side of the road. But what is life without a little excitement right? I am certainly NOT desiring ANY more of that but I can see where God was guiding and helping every step of the way.

We drove the bus almost 15,000 miles and drove the General and the Green Machine a whole bunch more. We spent way more than ever on gas and diesel and it would have been even more. Two families had purchased a tank of diesel each early in the year. One of those was almost $500 and the other was over $600. That was a tremendous blessing.

Thanks for hanging with us on the blog this year. I know that many of you read every day and that means a lot to us. Many of you tell us you check in on us through the blog and then you pray for us and we really appreciate that. God bless you for being concerned about our family and ministry.

We are already experiencing good things in 2013 and we are looking for God to guide every step of the way. We are pretty much scheduled all the way through the year and it is shaping up to be pretty busy, just how we like it.

We hope you join us here every day and please remember we love to hear from you. Leave comments and let us know what you think about each post.

May God bless you in 2013.

Davy

Welcome Back to Ron's

Welcome back to Ron's Hamburgers and Chili. Regular readers will remember my many previous posts about Ron's. We are only here for one week so Kelly Jo and I went today. It was as good as ever!

We needed to stop at Staples and Northern Tool so we went to one of my favorite locations at 71st and Mingo. Our other favorite is in Sand Springs. I have heard there in one close to where we are parked so I need to try it sometime.

The pictures below are not of the Double Big Daddy. This time I ordered the Who's Your Daddy? Wow! You talk about a great cheeseburger. It was terrific!

I probably will not be back in Ron's country until late August so we may try to run by Ron's again before we leave on Saturday. I hate to squander a good opportunity.

Greasy and Cheesy is my life motto!

Hope you enjoy the pictures.
