Revival In Pictures-Paducah, Kentucky

Today is Revival In Pictures day and I hope you are ready for a pile of great pictures. People often tell us that Revival Pictures are among their favorite posts and we have been delivering the pictures the last few weeks.

We had an absolutely wonderful week of revival at High Point Pentecostal in Paducah, Kentucky. These folks have welcomed us with open arms and made us feel so at home. Although we and been here twice and preached a revival for them online during the Covid Lockdown in 2020, this was our first in person revival and we loved it.

We appreciate Pastor Doug Stevens for inviting us for revival. He and his precious wife are super hosts. We enjoyed the fellowship and getting to know them and their people better.

Are you ready for Revival In Picture from Paducah, Kentucky? Here you go! Thank you for stopping by.

Our View Out The Front Window 11/7/21

Sunday Morning Sanity
A turtle that is on top of a fencepost is called a fencepost turtle. You have heard that reference, right? A fencepost turtle did not get on that fencepost without help.

The other day I was thinking about similarities between me and the fencepost turtle. There are two things on that turtle's mind and I have been pondering them too.

1. I know that I did not get up here by myself.
2. The next step is going to be a doozy!

Our View Out The Front Window
This was our view out the front window at the Missouri Welcome Center.

This was our view out the front window of the bus at Walmart in Mountain View, Missouri.

We could not resist this picture from the front door here at High Point near Paducah. It is so beautiful and peaceful here.

I hope you have a great Sunday. Thank you for stopping in for a few minutes. Tune in tomorrow for Revival In Pictures.

Pod’N Me Podcast With Friends

Hey Friends,

Welcome to another Saturday post written by Odie. Today the BoggsMobile is located in West Paducah, Kentucky. We are enjoying revival at High Point Pentecostal  Church. It has been good to be here this week with Pastor Doug Stevens.

Pod’N Me Podcast
Previously I have told you about my favorite podcast. It is called Pod’N Me. This podcast is a fantabulous way to brighten a dark day. You can listen to archived episodes of the show too. Many of the episodes I have listened to multiple times. I look forward to a new episode each Wednesday!

If you are not a regular Pod'N Me listener, allow me to briefly introduce you to this podcast. Pastor Devin Birdsong has been hosting the podcast since May 2020. Last fall Bro. Dustin Wakley and Bro. Brad Cottrell became a permanent fixture on the show. These three men make up a terrific podcast team.

Bro. Devin Birdsong is known as the Poderator or the Virtual Pastor in Pod’N Me land. Bro. Devin’s faithful helpers are known as The Deacon and The Song Leader.

Pod’N Me also has an official listener named Hershall. Every show is produced with this listener in mind. Bro. Judd Ingram has now assumed the role of Hershall. He makes regular appearances on the show and Hershall gets a shoutout somewhere in each episode.

Several months ago after I wrote a post featuring Pod’N Me here on the blog, Bro. Devin officially gave me a fun title on the show too. I am known as The Super Fan. I gladly represent my favorite podcast!

The format of the show is set up to resemble a Wednesday church service. There are always many fun things happening during their Wednesday Pod’N Meetings. They also serve up some food for thought too. I always leave the virtual meetings encouraged!

Pod'N Me also releases a special bonus show on the first day of each month. On the bonus episodes, they feature an interview with a guest. I really enjoy getting to hear great testimonies during the interviews. This is a wonderful way to get to know the guest better.

Commercial Break
Pod'N Me is available on several different podcast platforms.  I  listen to it on the Apple Podcast App.  You can find it on Apple hereMore Pod'N Me information can be found here.

The crew at Pod'N Me loves to hear from their listeners! You can leave feedback on Apple reviews.  You can also reach them a by email at devin@podnme.org. Do not forget to tell them that you heard about the show from The Super Fan! Your feedback might possibly be read on the  show during an upcoming episode.

A Visit With Friends
I have something extremely fun to share with you today. Bro. Devin invited me to make a guest appearance on Pod’N Me. I was honored by his amazing invitation! I was thrilled to be the guest for the special November 1st bonus episode.

They decided to take the show on the road  so we could record an episode together. On October 28th Bro  Devin brought his equipment from Purcell, Oklahoma to Moore, Oklahoma. We recorded along with Bro. Dustin and Bro. Brad at the Crosslight Chapel.

We had a great time recording this episode of Pod’N Me! I had a blast and that is an understatement! I am laughing as I tell you about it right now.

I always talk to them when I listen to the show and give them my feedback. Normally nobody really hears what I say, because I am alone while I listen. I was thrilled to actually be part of the conversation live this time!

We had a fabulous time during the interview. They learned a few unknown facts about me from our conversation. Also many of the things that we discussed have become reoccurring topics on the show. I wish you all could have been there.

Thank you, Bro. Devin, for the invitation to be on Pod'N Me! Thank you, Bro. Dustin and Bro. Brad, for allowing me to join in on your fun! I appreciate all of you taking time to record around my schedule and location.

The time we spent recording this show will go down in my favorite memories of 2021!  Keep up the good work at Pod'N Me. I will continue to do my job as The Super Fan to encourage you on the sidelines.

To our readers, I would love to know your opinion of this Pod'N Me episode. Thanks to all of my family and friends that have already listened to the episode and sent me their comments.

Well friends, I appreciate  you stopping by to visit with me today. I am always glad to spend a moment of my Saturday with you. I hope you have a terrific weekend.

It Has Been Another Great Week 11/5/21

It has been a fun and exciting week since I gave you a full report from Moore, Oklahoma last Friday. The weekend at Crosslight was amazing. I was concerned about the long drive ahead of us on Monday and Tuesday, but the Lord helped us all weekend long and into the new week as well.

Sunday evening was Pastor Appreciation at Crosslight. After the regular service, I was asked to make some remarks honoring Bro. and Sis. Birdsong and the church served a nice meal afterward. It was very nice and the Birdsong's deserved everything and more. They are great people with a sincere love for people.

You can see pictures from Crosslight HERE.

We cranked the BoggsMobile about 8:30 Monday morning and we were rolling by 9:00. By 10:45 we were pulling into the Tulsa Flying J to do the work of the evangelist.

By 12:30 the bus was rolling into the Missouri Welcome Center near Joplin after 216 miles.

We spent nearly three hours there with a little walking, a little rest and a big meal. With 600 mile to drive from Moore, Oklahoma, we needed to drive a bit more for the day, so we cranked up and took off.

We had three target spots scoped out for overnight parking. The first one we dismissed on sight and the second one was a newish Love's at Cabool, Missouri. It has three RV spots out front, but they are entirely too short for us. They would have been perfect IF we were not pulling a vehicle behind.

The pull through truck spots were all taken so we pressed onto our third spot, the postage-stamp-sized Walmart in Mountain View, Missouri. We pulled in there about 6:30 PM after 394 total miles for the day. Whew!

We were able to park on the west side of the parking lot facing the McDonald's but even one car in the wrong place and we would not be able to park. That Walmart gets labeled as doable, but potentially difficult in the BoggsMobile checklist.

We were cranked by 7:35 and rolling by 8:00. Hwy 60 across the rest of Missouri is four lane and great for a car. It is not great for the bus with the hills and curves, but is completely doable. We were pulling behind the Sikeston Lambert's by 10:35 after 137 miles.

Lambert's was only 3-5 miles out of the way, so it made sense to us to swing in. We went in for a great lunch a little while after we arrived and then we rested a couple hours afterward before driving. Wow! Have I ever told you I love traveling with my own couch?😎

The next section of the route is one of my least favorites in the whole USA. There is a long narrow bridge crossing the Mississippi River and then immediately another long narrow bridge crossing the Ohio River. We nearly slapped mirrors with at least 10 semi trucks going the other direction, but we made it. Ugh!

We pulled into High Point Pentecostal Church in Paducah a little after 4:00, unloaded sound equipment with the help of Pastor Stevens and his son, parked the bus and then set up and did soundcheck. With nearly 600 miles behind us, it felt great to climb into bed Tuesday night!

Wednesday we began revival and we have been having a wonderful time ever since. Pastor Doug Stevens and his family and church have received us with open arms and we are having a wonderful time!

We will try to post many more pictures on Monday. Thank you for dropping in.

Two Wonderful Weeks

I have some memories that I want to enter into the Mile Makers record today. We have experienced two weeks of wonderful goodness and our hearts are overjoyed because of it!

We love what we have been called to do. We love that we have the privilege to be asked to be an instrument of encouragement and maybe even revival in churches all over America. We can hardly imagine doing something wildly different than what we do. We are extraordinarily blessed!

Week in and week out, we get to roll in, set up and have church with old friends while making new friends at every stop. It is an amazing life we live.

In the midst of revivals every week, we have moments that are especially amazing. We have had two amazing weeks in a row due to one simple fact.

Week one we were in revival at Bethany Revival Center in Wichita, Kansas and in week two we were in revival at Crosslight in Moore, Oklahoma. Both weeks were super all on their own. Both churches are full of great friends and we had plenty of fellowship and awesome services in both cities.

We thoroughly enjoyed so many friends coming to be in service with us and experience revival with us. We have been abundantly blessed with an incredible portion of great friends!

Yet there was one common denominator in both revivals and that one thing sent both revivals over the top in our books. My brother Steve and his precious wife Karen were in revival with us for the whole two weeks.

Steve and Karen live, work and attend church at Bethany so we were with them all that week. Then Steve and Karen drove to Moore and spent all five days and six services with us at Crosslight too.

That means we were blessed to be with them for two whole weeks and 12 services. It was a rare treat that we enjoyed tremendously! Of course, they were mightly involved in prepping for and pushing revival in Wichita. Then they jumped into the services and ministry at Crosslight and made themselves at home. They were a great asset to that revival as well.

We had so much fun and joy both weeks. We shared meals, had great conversations, enjoyed friends together and soaked up the blessings of the Lord in every revival service.

I am so proud of Steve and Karen as they work in the ministry as God has called them in Wichita and we love every single moment we get to spend with them. We will enjoy the memories of the last two weeks for a very long time.

As an added bonus, we had Bro. and Sis. DiZazzo with us for three nights at Crosslight as well. That was a treat too!

Thank you for joining us today as we record precious memories on Mile Markers.

A Word For Wednesday - How Does Light Affect You?

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel.

A Word for Wednesday for this week is "How Does Light Affect You?"

Our Word For Wednesday is taken from The Rudder and The Rock by Charles W. Conn. The sunlight melts some things and hardens others. It brings color to living things and often fades things that have no life. How Does Light Affect You?

If you enjoy this, please subscribe, thumbs up the video and share the video with someone.😍

Thank you for spending a few minutes with us today.

An Old Travel Memory

We were traveling south out of Wichita, Kansas last Tuesday and it brought up a bad travel story from nearly 30 years ago. Do you want to hear it? Keep reading.

We were traveling the same direction in our very first truck and trailer and we made a memory we will never forget, although we would like to forget.😁

Our first fifth wheel was a 1979 Holiday Ramblette. It was made and sold by Holiday Rambler as an entry level camper. We purchased it in 1992 in an RV/Mobile Home Park in Sebring, Florida where it had spent all or most of its life.

After a blowout, new tires and a bunch of elbow grease, it was ready to roll! My dusty memories tell me it was 27' long and KJo and Odie agree. The weight of it matched perfectly with the 1989 F250 Ford Extended Cab Long Bed that I bought used as well.

Five or six weeks of revival and about 2500 miles later we were preaching revival in Wichita for Bro. Terry White at New Horizon Holiness Church. We were scheduled to be there through Friday night and then drive about 475 miles to our next revival in Arkansas that was scheduled to begin Sunday night.

We were having a terrific revival in Wichita and Pastor White and his folks asked us to stay and preach Saturday. That would require us to drive overnight, but I was young, impressionable and evidently touched in the head! I agreed to stay for Saturday night.

After church Saturday night we planned to hit the road as soon as they said Amen. But everyone wanted us to go out to eat with them one more time. Did I mention that I was young, impressionable and evidently touched in the head? I agreed to go for one last meal with the church folks.

Now, I need to mention that it was the first week of February and about 20 degrees. Our entry level Florida camper had tanks that were not enclosed. By the time I tried to dump the holding tank Saturday, it was frozen solid. Ouch!

We left the church very late and got on I-135 going south toward Oklahoma. On the south end of Wichita you go through the toll gate and follow I-35 south. We went through the toll gate and went straight ahead, THINKING we were driving south.

However, IF you go straight ahead without looking at the signs, that road loops around and goes northeast toward Kansas City. IF you want to go straight south, you have to leave the road going south and take an exit to the right and that road turns back to the south in the next 1/2 mile.

Do you know what we did? It was late Saturday night, we were leaving way too late, we had 475 miles to drive, our holding tank was frozen solid and we made a wrong turn. We went through the toll gate and followed the road that we thought was going south, but it was NOT going south.

We cruised along thinking we were going through Oklahoma to Arkansas and we were actually going northeast toward Kansas City. Ugh!

After about 50-60 miles we realized that we were not seeing Oklahoma road signs and we should have been. We were studying the atlas while driving and came to the conclusion we were going the wrong way.

But the road is a turnpike and the exits are few and far between. We had no choice but to go to the next exit, pay the toll, turn around, get another ticket and go all the way back to our starting point on the south side of Wichita.

We had driven over 160 miles, paid two expensive tolls and went NOwhere. Our 475 mile overnight drive became 635 miles. We pulled into the church about 1:00 PM Sunday afternoon. It was nearly 70 degrees and when I exited the truck I saw that my black water tank had finally thawed and it was leaking at every seam in the tank.

Fortunately, the church had a place to empty the tank and I took care of that immediately. The men standing around helped me get it done quickly and saved me more embarrassment.

Thankfully, I was young and I was able to bounce back in time to preach Sunday evening. Odie told me the thing she remembers most about that night is she got a crick in her neck sleeping in the back seat of the truck. She called it a cricket in her neck.😍

That was a bad night, but we made it and have lived long enough to laugh about it. Thank you for laughing with us.
