Weekend In The Rearview Mirror 4/8/19

Bedtime Friday night after the last service of PFYC came way too late, but we enjoyed every minute of visiting with friends. It was tough to bid everyone goodbye, but eventually we made our way out of the Leconte Center and to the BoggsMobile.

We really did not have to hurry Saturday so it was a few minutes before 9:00 AM when we pulled out and pointed the bus toward Ohio. The weather was beautiful and the traffic was smooth until we neared Cincinnati. There was major construction in northern Kentucky and all of a sudden I-75 became a parking lot.

We lost about 90 minutes in traffic and finally pulled into the barn around 4:00 PM. The total drive was 326 miles and 7 hours. Whew!

We dropped Odie at her house where my Dad was waiting in the driveway. He had the door unlocked and the heat turned up. Nope, Odie is not spoiled at all.😏😏

By 5:00 we were arriving at Acapulco with my parents and my brother Steve. Meeting us there were Kelly Jo's parents and her niece and her family. It was great to be back home with family, good Mexican food and wonderful salsa!

They all went back to Odie's house afterward and visited a while.

Sunday morning we enjoyed being home for Sunday School and Sunday worship at Dryden Rd.

We met Steve and Jo Jo for lunch.

Sunday night we went back to Dryden Rd. Bro. Bennie had invited me to preach and we had a wonderful altar service.

After church we enjoyed fellowship with many of the saints at our home church and then we went for bite and more fellowship with Bro. JR and Sis. Teresa Alexander. It was a great ending to a wonderful day and a fantastic weekend.

This week I have a project to complete on the car, one on the bus, one on the house and batteries to chase down and replace on one of Odie's wheelchairs. We are also supposed to preach next door at Dodd's Wednesday night. Our week will rush through and escape before we know it, but we plan to enjoy some salsa along the way.

Thank you for stopping in today.

Davy
