The Isaacs in Gainesville Texas

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Paden, Oklahoma. We are having a great time with Pastor Terry Garner and the congregation at Burnett Mission Holiness Church. We are here for a two day family weekend.

Tomorrow revival begins at Westside Holiness Church. I am anticipating a move of God in this revival! We are excited to be with Pastor Jimmy and Sis. Shauna Millikin and our friends in Claremore. To our many Tulsa area friends, we invite you to join us during the revival.

Revival is scheduled for Sunday through Thursday. There will not be service Friday night due to a graduation! We will also be at Westside Sunday, May 19 too and revival could continue a few days. Stay tuned for more details in future posts here.

Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely ladies reading this post. I am so grateful for you. Many of you have impacted my life and you are special to me! I can not say thank you enough for your investments in me. I hope and pray God has a wonderful blessing for you this weekend! I love you dearly!

Below is a recent picture of my Mom and me with Cherish Cheek

My Mother, Kelly Jo Boggs, is an incredible person. She is my real life Super Hero! I get the honor of having the world’s best Mom!  I know that God handpicked her just for me. He knew exactly what I needed and I am so thankful for my Mother!

My mom and I share a tight bond. She is the one who understands me the most. She is my friend, companion, corrector and encourager. Mom knows the good, bad and the ugly about me, yet she still loves me! We pick and joke about each other, but we have each other’s back. I will fight you if you mess with my Mom. She is absolutely awesome in my eyes!

Mom, I love you more than I can express with words! Thank you for your dedication and sacrifice. I know that you have worked hard to be the greatest mom a girl could ask for. Your unselfish love and commitment to my care are amazing! I appreciate you so much! I truly want to thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The Isaacs in Gainesville, Texas

Last weekend was an incredible weekend. We were able to be with the Isaacs two services in a row in the same city. I enjoyed and soaked up the singing and music both times. I am a committed Isaacs fan. I love to see them sing and play whenever possible. Seeing them two days in a row and three times in nine days is a fabulous treat!

Did you see the blog last Saturday? It is also about the Isaacs.

Each time that I get to attend an Isaacs performance, I am so happy. Their music brightens my day! It in inspires and uplifts me every time! I always find some hidden gems in the music and singing that wows me! I often say it is so good that is hurts me, but it is an awesome kind of pain!

The Isaacs are my dear family and I love them so much! I always enjoy spending time with them any chance that I can. They go way out of their way to make me feel well loved! I definitely know I am not near as special as they make me feel.

These Gainesville events were hosted by football legend Terry Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw is a friend to the Isaacs and he loves their music. He wanted to bring the Isaacs to Gainesville, Texas so that his local community could enjoy The Isaacs music. Terry and his wife were also at both services. It was fun to be in Gainesville for these concerts!

A super special bonus Saturday night was getting to see my cousin Deidre, Ben and baby Charlie Shoemaker. Dad mentioned it here too. I was thrilled to officially meet Charlie and snuggle him. He is absolutely as precious as I  had already suspected. He definitely has an extra special place in Auntie O’s ❤️. That special place grew even more when I held him in my arms.

Thank you for stopping by and reading. I will close with pictures of the Isaacs from Saturday night and Sunday morning. Have a great weekend!

This picture is blurry because I was cheering on my buddy Nathan Faucett. I had requested that he do a vocal solo and he hit it out of the park! The solo was like no other one sang that night. It was a wonderful ending to a super fun evening!!

Just Another Day and Mother's Day

Just Another Day
Thursday started bright (not really) and early (really) for us. We wanted to get an early start and we did. I unhooked the water hose, cranked the bus, KJ pulled up so I could do the work of the evangelist, she backed up, we hooked up the car and away we went. It was perfect timing too. The rain began after we were safe inside the bus!

I took this picture so you can see why we love parking at the House of Prayer in Gainesville. It has a nice level concrete drive all the way around it. The parking spot is behind the church and completely out of everyone's way.

It is so nice of Pastor Dennis King and his folks for allowing us to park in this beautiful place when we are in the area. It is perfecto.

All I have to do is pull up to do the work of the evangelist.

In a little over two hours after we left, we were parked at Walmart on the south side of Oklahoma City. An hour later the car was unhooked and we were pulling into one of our favorite little Mexican restaurants in Oklahoma City.

This is the Chelino's at Santa Fe and Grand.

After lunch, we drove to Calvary Holiness Church in Midwest City to help Bro. Kenny Searcy and his church with their new sound system. They purchased a QSC board similar to mine and I tried to tune it in as best I could.

I spent the rest of the day working on sermons for the next two nights at Burnett Mission. It is a weekend with Family as the theme so I am trying to pull it all together. Sunday morning we will begin revival at Westside Holiness Church in Claremore, Oklahoma for Pastor Jimmy Millikin. We are looking forward to all these services.

Thursday evening we ate from the taco truck. Scrumptious!

Mother's Day
Speaking of Sunday, it is Mother's Day. I hope that my Mother, Martha Boggs, has a wonderful Mother's Day. I am saved today, in large part, because my Mother prayed next to my bed every night as I was growing up. As my Mother, she did so much more than that, but nothing any more valuable than that. Thank you, Mother Dear. I love you so much.

I also have Mothers all over the USA that have taken me on as an extra son. Thank you, dear sisters. Your love and concern and prayers for me and my girls are appreciated and loved. Thank you for taking my family as our own. May God reward and bless you for your kindness and generosity.

Sis. Tammy Harris, the wife of Pastor Alan Harris in Central City, Kentucky, lost her Mother this week. My heart breaks for our dear friends. This Mother's Day will be a bittersweet day for Sis. Tammy and I have committed to praying for her especially on Sunday. Will you join me in that prayer? May God cover Sis. Tammy with his presence all day long.

Thank you for stopping by today.

The Best Laid Plans and All That Jazz

We had a nice little plan worked out for the first part of this week and it worked out different and better than we had planned. Our two main goals for Monday through Wednesday were to get a mattress repaired and to sing and preach for our friends in Keller, Texas. We got both of those accomplished, so it is all good.

Mattress
When we first purchased the bus in 2008, one of the highest priority changes was the mattresses on our bed in the back. Yes, I did say mattresses, plural. The base of the bed is a platform and we can raise the head of the bed on each side, independently from the other side, to a sitting position. There was a mattress on each side. The original mattresses were a custom sized and round on one corner to match the platform.

The mattresses were also fastened to the platform and they were worn slap out. We wanted to retain the platform raising option so we went on the hunt for custom size mattress as cheap as possible.

Bro. Kenneth Rowe was living and pastoring in the Ft. Worth area and he loves a good hunt. He found City Mattress Factory in Haltom City and away we went. We loved their prices. Most places we checked wanted double the price for a custom size.

At City Mattress Factory if your custom size is smaller than a twin, you pay the twin price.
If your custom size is between a twin and full, you pay the full-size price.
If your custom size is between a full and queen, you pay the queen-size price.
If your custom size is between a queen and king, you pay the king-size price.

Both of our custom sized mattresses were smaller than twin so we paid for two twin mattress and we were satisfied. Odie purchased one of their better mattresses custom fitted for her bunk and it is still going strong.

We found that we did not really use the option to raise the head of the bed much so eight years later, we were in Ft. Worth area and purchased a better one piece mattress custom sized to the platform in the bus. The two mattresses we first purchased are now being used in Odie's bedroom in the house.

Wow! I just read all of that and it is convoluted. Figure it out if you can, but none of it is essential to understanding the meaning of life.

Now our less than three year old mattress needed a repair covered by warranty. Tuesday was the day.

After rush hour traffic was clear from Ft. Worth, I drove the bus Monday night to City Mattress Factory. They said if we were there on Tuesday morning, they would have the warranty repair finished by closing time. The plan was to make our way to the Keller church Tuesday night after rush hour to be in place for Wednesday.

They came to the bus at 7:00 AM for the mattress and by 8:30 AM they were finished and loading it in the bus. Wow! That was fast and called for a change of plans.

There was no sense cooling our heels in Haltom City all day with the traffic clear, so I hit the road in the bus and drove all the way back to Gainesville while the girls spent the day in retail therapy. This puts us much closer to Oklahoma City this morning, where we need to be by noon or so today.

Keller, Texas
Since we parked in Gainesville, we simply drove the Green Machine back to Keller, Texas to church last light. We had a great time with our dear friends at Keller, Texas for their Wednesday night service.

We have enjoyed many revival services with Pastor Kenneth Rowe and these wonderful friends. Bro. Rowe is now retired and Bro. Sheldon Jones is now the Pastor. It was so good to be there.

Odie snapped a few pictures to preserve the moment. I will close this post with those pictures. Thank you for joining us today.

The small ramp built into the platform was built especially for Odie many years ago.
