The Tent Goes Up In Central City, Kentucky

Boy Oh Boy the tent setup went great again! It was a pleasant morning weather wise and having so many friends show up to help, made the morning even more pleasant.

Pastor Alan Harris and his church turned out in full force and we had two more pastors bring several men from each of their churches as well. All the help was a tremendous blessing!

Pastor Tim Fouts and several men from the Lola Pentecostal Church came to help as well as Pastor Israel Sanders and several men from Faith Church. It was also great to have Pastor Kevin Pleasant drive over from Paducah to lend us a hand. The help from these churches was super valuable and very much appreciated!

Pastor Harris prayed and we began taking stakes out of the trailer and driving them into the ground at 8:05. The tent was standing by 8:45 and it was tight with the chairs set out in formation by 9:15. That is a really good setup.

We dismissed everyone after that, but several stayed around to help with lights, PA cords and transferring the PA equipment from the bus to the trailer. We praise God for all of the help!

Odie snapped a bunch of pictures and one of the ladies from Central City sent Odie a few pictures too. I will post Odies first and then Sis. Barbre's will follow.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Weekend Woundup and Weview 8/12/19

It has been a great weekend in Central City, Kentucky. We are so very glad to be here and to be a small part of what God is doing. There were many people listening beyond the tent the first night and that is very exciting. That is an indication that God is at work and if God is at work, things will be accomplished! Praise God!

I told you in Friday's post that we did not make it as far as we intended to travel Thursday. We ended up spending the night at a Pilot Truckstop in Pendleton, Kentucky. I was in bed early so I was up early. I waited until about 4:30 AM before I cranked the bus to leave.

Sometime in the night, a truck had backed in next to us and he was very close. I was concerned that the back of my trailer might swing into him getting out, but we made it. The truckstop was so full, we had to wiggle our way all the way to the exit.

Louisville traffic was nonexistent at that hour and we sailed right on through. By 5:30 AM I was filling up with diesel at Love's in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. We took on 162 gallons!

It was getting daylight when I pulled out of loves onto Western Kentucky Parkway and I drove right into pea soup.

What had been a very pleasant drive, was not very fun anymore. It started looking for a place to get off the road when it got even worse than the picture above.

At 7:30 I pulled into a travel plaza about 20 miles short of our destination. The fog was thick, I did not want to arrive that early and a nap seemed to be in order. I parked and climbed into bed. It felt so good that I almost climbed out and climbed back in again!

By noon, Central time we had pulled onto the tent site in Central City. Pastor Alan Harris met us there and we determined the best place for the tent, the bus and the tent trailer.

After we cleaned up, we met Bro. Alan and Sis. Tammy for a great meal and wonderful fellowship. We love these folks!

A few minutes before 8:00, Kelly Jo and I went outside to measure and mark the stake line for the tent. It was a beautiful evening.

Help was coming at 8:00 Saturday morning and by 7:00 I had everything ready to get the work done. We began carrying stakes at 8:05 and by 9:15 the tent was up, the chairs were in place and the tent had been tightened. It was a great setup and we will have pictures of that later in the week by God's grace.

Sunday morning, Pastor Harris had someone watch the tent and we went to their church and preached the Sunday morning service. It is always a pleasure to sing and preach at Trinity Pentecostal Church.

I had not slept enough to make much difference Saturday night so Kelly Jo and Odie kept an eye on things while I took a long winter's nap right in the middle of a summer afternoon. Wow!

At 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon, Kelly Jo and I began working in order to be prepared for the first night. By 6:00 all was ready and the soundcheck was completed.

Sunday night was a great first night and we expect each service to build on the one before it. Please pray for us and for the people of Central City, Kentucky. There is no telling the wonders that God will perform among us IF we allow Him to do it.

Here are some pictures that Odie took Sunday night.

Some early visitors.

Thank you for tuning in today. May God bless you all.

Our View Out The Front Window 8/11/19

This was our view at the Pilot Thursday night in Pendleton, Kentucky.

This was our view for a few hours at another truck stop somewhere along the Western Kentucky Parkway.

I neglected to take a picture out our front window yesterday where we are parked in Central City, but this is a very nice view.

Here are the links to our posts from this last week.

We always appreciate you taking a moment to drop in to read Mile Markers. Have a great Sunday!

Family And Friends Fun Morgan Style

Hey Friends,

This is Odie coming to you today from Kentucky. It is tent setup day in Central City. We are super excited to be here with Pastor Alan Harris and the congregation of Trinity Pentecostal Church. It is an honor to help them bring the gospel to this city.

The revival is scheduled for Sunday through Friday. I am expecting God to do miraculous things under the Blue and White Gospel Tent. Please join us in prayer for a special revival for this amazing church family.

Last Saturday I told you that it was my Papaw Danny Morgan’s birthday. If you missed that post you can find it by clicking here. I am happy it worked out for Mom and me to spend some time with Papaw on his birthday. We loved it.

My Gran had planned a small gathering with some family and friends. We had a fabulous few hours is Hillsboro last Saturday afternoon. It was so good to see everyone. We enjoyed delicious food and had fun celebrating Papaw.

I snapped some pictures along the way so that I could bring you along too. Now we will get this party in pictures going. I hope you enjoy the ride.

First, this is a picture of Mom and me with the birthday boy. I love my Papaw so much! I wish all of you could really know him. He is always the life of the party. I am blessed with a fun Papaw.

Here are a couple of pictures of the wonderful food. I enjoyed every bite! You know what? After seeing the pictures I am hungry again.

Bro. Fred Moore blessed us by bringing some Heavenly Banana Pudding. Oh, my word it was scrumptious and I told him his pudding was going to be Boggsblogs famous.

I failed to get a picture of the scrumptious ice cream cake that my Aunt Kim and cousin Morgan made. I barely was able to snag some before it completely disappeared.

Now I will close with pictures of the family and friends. Thank you for stopping by to visit with me. See you next week. Have a fantastic weekend.

Odie

On The Road Again

We had a great revival at Anchor of Hope and I posted the Revival In Pictures yesterday. We had grand intentions of hitting it early Thursday and getting on the road by 11:00. We did hit it early, but leaving early seemed out of reach and it was. It was 2:10 PM before we rolled.

We made it away from the Ranch and we made it out of Ohio, but we did not make it much farther than that. The BoggsMobile and Tent Trailer pulled out of the drive and we hit Cincinnati traffic at a pretty good time.

We were sailing south on I-71 toward Lousiville when Kelly Jo did a random check of the traffic in Louisville. Ruh Roh Shaggy! There was a major slow down on the south side of Louisville and there was a very bad wreck on I-71 before we could even get to the bypass.

The time lost on that slowdown went from 17 minutes to over 90 minutes in a very short time according to Google Maps and Waze. It was time to get off the road. We stopped at the Love's in Sparta, Kentucky and found a place to park and thought we would wait it out.

Then we discovered that the Speedco in Pendleton, Kentucky was open again after being closed for several years. We needed an oil change so we drove a few more miles to Pendleton and exited the interstate just before the major red on the interstate.

We pulled in, dropped the trailer and they got us right into the bay. The oil change went pretty good it seems and we were out in about an hour. It is actually not quite time for our actual oil change, but we are changing it early as a follow up to the trouble we had earlier in the year. In fact, I meant to do it earlier, but I found myself up in the northeast and could not find a place that would change it.

They captured an oil sample for me and I will mail it today.

Kelly Jo had been watching Google Maps the whole time and there were several more accidents on the Lousiville bypass. Ouch!

By the time we hooked back up to the trailer and pulled out the traffic was much better, but it was after 6:00 and we were wearing out. We found a parking spot across the street at Pilot and that is where I am typing this late Thursday evening.

Our plan is to leave early this morning and go directly to Central City after a fuel stop.

Odie took some screenshots from her security camera as we prepared to leave Thursday.

The bus is out of the barn.

The bus is turned around and backing up to the trailer.

Loading the car.

The trailer is hooked up and the car is loaded.

Closing the barn door.

The truck is moved around behind, the barn doors are closed and we are ready to go.

That is all for today. Thank you for taking the time to join us.
