Another Puzzle Piece

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Boston. The BoggsMobile has been on the move this week. It is great to be back in Boston to visit our friends, make new friends, and enjoy delicious Italian food. We will be with Pastor Orville Plummer and the congregation of Bethel Revival Center tomorrow morning thru Tuesday night. We are looking forward to what God has planned for us during our visit to Massachusetts.

We have had a great trip so far. I am sure that Dad will tell you more about it next week. I am writing today about my house. I hope you are not getting tired of hearing about it and seeing pictures. It is a big part of my life at the moment so that is what you get.
Another Puzzle Piece
I often get asked if I  am enjoying having my own place to call home. Yes, I love my beach cottage! Next, I am usually asked these questions, Are you settled in and do you have everything in place? Well, I have slowly been getting the things that I need. It is taking shape one puzzle piece at a time. I am loving the big picture that I see forming!

One piece that was high on my priority list this summer was to purchase a queen size mattress for my Master Bedroom. I bought a bed frame that I really like from IKEA last summer. My parents had an old set of twin mattress that together made a queen size bed. They had previously used them for several years in the BoggsMobile. Using their old mattresses allowed me to take my time on the search for a mattress.

Buying a new mattress has always been on my radar, but I wanted the perfect mattress. At Sam’s Club I found the mattress that felt just right to me. It was my “Goldilocks moment”. 😀 I knew my search for the perfect mattress was over. Sam’s in our area did not have the Queen size in the store, but there are other options. I ordered it online and in eight days it was delivered to my porch.

Last Saturday morning I received a text letting me know that the mattress was delivered. I was so excited to roll out and see this box sitting there waiting for me. Thanks to Papaw for helping me get it inside. Thank you to Mom and Papaw for getting it in place and setup.

As soon as the plastic was cut you hear it expanding. It quickly grew before our eyes. Within 20 minutes it already felt wonderful. In two hours it was fully expanded and felt firmer. It was absolutely amazing to me.

After letting it expand for a couple of hours I put everything back in place. I have thoroughly enjoyed sleeping on it for four nights. It is so comfortable!

I am thrilled to have this massive piece to my puzzle completed. Click here for a link to Sam’s website if you would like to see the exact mattress that I chose. I definitely give this mattress 5 stars. If you need a new mattress for a reasonable price. I recommend going to your local Sam’s and trying this Serta mattress out. It the Serta SleepToGo 12" Gel Memory Foam Luxury Queen Mattress.

Thank you for spending time with me today. I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Oops, Ugh, Ouch, Whew, Yuck, Arg, Hallelujah!

We are parked at the church in Fall River, Massachusettes where we are supposed to sing and preach tonight for Pastor Isaac Enti and his congregation. We are excited to be here. I supposed I need to fill you in on our week.

Most of the day, Kelly Jo and I chased parts for a lawnmower and I spent about 90 minutes waiting in line at the bureau of motor vehicles with 50 of my new friends. Kelly Jo and Odie slid down to Hillsboro to see KJ's family for a few hours Monday evening.

Tuesday I started early up in Odie's attic working on the leak I told you about. It seems to be leaking around one of the plumbing vents when it rains. Later in the week my cousin, Delmar put a new boot on the vent and caulked it good. Hopefully, that takes care of it.

One of the jobs Tuesday was to get the grass knocked down to a reasonable level. Dad took care of the riding and I took care of the trim.

Wednesday morning we were up early and ready to hit the road by 7:00. I reached for the key to crank the bus and Kelly Jo asked me if I had filled up the freshwater tank on the bus. Oops! I had completely forgotten and it was bone dry. That delayed us by over 30 minutes, but by 7:35 the car was hooked up and we were rolling.

I had to stop for fuel in the first hour. We had filled up on our way in from Illinois, but we ran over 100 gallons through the generator during the Middletown tent revival.

Later I missed an exit that is always tricky for me up near Cleveland and that cost me 10 miles. Ugh! It was destined to be a long day, but most everything went smoothly after that.

By 4:30 PM we had driven 564 miles and we were pulling into a rest area on I-80 near Tannersville, Pennsylvania. KJ prepared a nice meal, we ate, we all cleaned up and we were in bed before dark.

Because we were early to bed, I was wide awake by 4:30. I let the girls rest as long as they could, thinking that by leaving late, I would miss the rush hour around the north side of NYC and on the I-95 corridor through Connecticut. It did not work.

Rookie Mistake
I sat down to crank the bus Thursday morning and there was no juice. What in the world? After a few moments of panicking, I realized I had left the headlights and running lights on when we stopped. We had driven through a rainy spell and turned on the lights early in the day. Since it was still daylight when we stopped for the day, I forgot. Ouch!

Have I mentioned to you that I am glad Jeff Rowe still takes my calls? I turned on the battery charger to get some juice flowing, hit the button that links the house batteries to the chassis batteries for emergency starting, turned the key and it roared to life. Whew!

That really was an indication of the whole day. Although we were able to be up to speed for the first two hours, the rest of the day more than made up for that. We traveled about 8 hours including a fuel and rest stop that was over an hour. The whole day was 285 miles for a grand total of less than 46 MPH average moving speed. Yuck!

We did see an interesting sign in western New Jersey on I-80.

The Land of Make Believe? I told Kelly Jo that I did not know we were so close to Washington D.C.😜

Lots of traffic for hours and hours and hours.

The fuel stop was only necessary because we need to run the generator most of the time this week. I wanted to arrive here with a full tank.

We finally pulled into the church, unhooked the car and parked the BoggsMobile at the back of the lot.

Then the Green Machine would not start. Arg!

I started it Thursday morning and let it run a while in Pennsylvania. I do not know what caused the battery to run down, but I got a jump and it seems to be doing fine now.

That was enough angst for one day.

Today is bound to be better by God's grace. Hallelujah! Thank you for reading.

Summarizing Another Circle

I have been trying to keep a written record of each circle out and back this year. Since we started a new circle this morning, I better get started on the last one.

We left on this circle on Sunday, May 26 and arrived home on Sunday, July 7. The BoggsMobile travel 3339 miles, we had two revivals in churches, two tent revivals and one camp meeting in that time. I also drove the car about 400 miles to Bristow Camp Meeting for one day.

When I first planned this trip, it was not bad at all. I even had some rest days built in. But last minute additions and changes made it a pretty rough circle. When you add on last week's tent revival in Middletown, now I understand why I was so exhausted this weekend.

That being said, I would not change a thing. All of the revivals and meetings on the trip were outstanding. I can not imagine missing any of them. Even though we are trying to schedule better and work smarter, there are times when you have to toughen up and get it done.

The church revivals were in Independence, Iowa and Wichita, Kansas for Pastor Ganze and Pastor DiZazzo respectively. We loved both of the revivals and we heard from both Pastors later about lasting results from the meetings. Praise God, that is what we are after.

The next two weeks were tent revivals in Colorado Springs, Colorado for Pastor Thomas and then nearly 700 miles away in Amber, Oklahoma for Pastor Cheek. This was our second tent revival in both of these locations and we loved every moment of both of them.

When the tent came down in Amber, we made another hard run to Elco, Illinois to preach the day services of Elco Family Camp. We absolutely loved being with all of the Pastors and church folks that make up Elco as well as spending time with our good friends, Pastor TD and Sis. Shea Boyd.

There was one big difference in this circle than most of the rest of our circles. Usually, we have a long trip and then preach several revivals in a general area. Not this time. Our shortest commute between revivals was 500 miles between Wichita and Colorado Springs. We can not keep that up for long.

But like I said, it was worth it.

That brings us to our next circle. This one will have a few miles, but it will not take too long. We plan to be back in Ohio in 10 days, by God's grace. We began yesterday at home and ended 564 miles down the road.

I waved goodbye to the Ranch as I was backing out of the driveway and then we hooked up the car at the church.

Thank you for reading today.

Vintage View Vednesday - Bethel Revival Center.

Can a Vintage View post contain pictures that are all under three years old? Is it legal? I guess it depends on who is making the rules, right? Well, I am making the rules and I want to see pictures from our last visit to Bethel Revival Center in Everett, Massachusettes in the Boston area. I suppose that makes it legal.😀

Wow, these pictures bring back some great memories. We not only got to be with the Bethel folks, including Pastor Orville Plummer and his wife, but we met Bro. John DiZazzo's brother Larry and mixed in some folks from Ohio and Wichita. Yep, it was quite a mix that stirred up quite nicely and made for some great pictures.

I am excited about these pictures, because we plan to be at Bethel this Sunday morning through Tuesday night, by God's grace. Most of the Wichita and Ohio folks may be missing this time, but we are excited to see our friends in Boston. We believe God is going to meet with us in that little storefront church and we can not wait to get there.

We also plan to be at Calvary Ministry in Fall River, MA this Friday night. We have never met the folks in Fall River, but we have been introduced to them by Bro. David Eldridge and we are looking forward to singing and preaching there too.

Here are the pictures from Bethel Revival Center in August 2016. I hope you enjoy.

This is Pastor Orville Plummer and Davy. Pastor Orville is a super great guy and we really enjoyed meeting him and his sweet wife Sis. Jennifer.

Thank you for joining with us today. By the time many of you read this, we will be zipping along the interstate watching the Mile Markers zoom by on our way to the northeast.
