Blanchard, Oklahoma - Revival in Pictures

Revival under the old tabernacle at Blanchard has been super great! I am so thankful that Pastor Lendel Birdsong invited us to be a part of this meeting. God has blessed the church, reached out and touched the community and encouraged our family as well.

Revival ended tonight with another tremendous service. We packed everything away after church and we hope to pull out very early tomorrow morning. We plan to pull the trailer to Neosho, Missouri and put the tent up in the afternoon. It is going to be a long day.

I believe I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story while I hurry off to bed.

We found us a new bus the other day...

The first night of the revival the electric flickered several times and even shut completely off a few times. The main 200 amp breaker was bad.

Bro. Adam came out the next morning and replaced the whole box.

Bro. and Sis. Landress were with us Wednesday night. Bro. Larry and Kelly Jo practiced some songs in Spanish for our tent revival in Mexico later this year.

Bro. Joe has been a dear friend for many, many years.

It was so great to have the Millikin's in service with us tonight. They are always a great blessing to revival.

Temar Boggs - A Hero In Our Family

People make heroes out of the strangest folks. The vilest, immoral, dishonorable, unconscionable, despicable and depraved people are lifted up on the pedestal of fame because they can sing, dance, act, throw a ball or shoot a basket. The raunchier the performance and the lower the morals the better the world likes it although they often feign shock and disgust.

The corrupt stars of today's popular culture are NOT heroes.

This is what a real hero looks like. This is a real life fifteen year old hero!

Meet Temar Boggs

Some how I missed this story when it was going on in mid-July but I ran across it today. Temar Boggs is a brave young man that did the right thing when it would have been easier to do something less.

It seems he was helping some other young men move a couch for an elderly neighbor when somebody came up looking for a 5 year old girl that had been abducted from her front yard. He and his friends begin to search in the woods and then went looking for little Jocelyn Rojas on their bikes.

They saw a car turn around when approaching a police road block and then weave suspiciously in and out the maze of dead end roads in their neighborhood. He and a friend chased the car for about 15 minutes while the driver tried in vain to find a through street to escape. Finally the kidnapper/predator in the car pushed the child out and sped away.

The girl ran to Temar Boggs and ask for her mother. He picked her up and carried her to the police where she was united with her family. She felt so safe in his arms that she did not want to be handed to the policeman until Temar told her it was OK.

Temar is being hailed as a hero and he should be. He probably saved Jocelyn's life and saved her family from a lot of heartbreak.

There have been scholarship funds set up for Temar Boggs and his friend that chased the car with him. You can Google his name and find out more information if you are so inclined.

It makes me want to go out and do something extraordinarily nice for somebody in order to live up to the Boggs name. Temar has set the standard high! Good going, Temar Boggs. I am honored to have you in the Boggs family!

The New Church In Nigeria Is Complete!

I have posted several times about the crusade in Abeokuta last December and the work that God performed in lives those few days. THIS is a link to a post that summed it all up in April. You can read that post and the posts linked there if you need to be brought up to date.

As of last Friday the church is complete! Bro. Shobanke sent me six pictures by email and I want everybody to see the beautiful church.

Isn't that awesome? Many churches and individuals helped bear the expense of completing this new church. I am so thankful that many of you helped Boggs Family Ministries give a pretty large portion of the cost. Praise God for His help. It is amazing that a church has been raised up at the edge of Abeokuta and that souls are already being saved and discipled on Osara Rd.

Now they have a nice church to worship in! Praise God!

Bro. Shobanke has asked me to dedicate this new church and I would absolutely love to do it. I am honored that he would even ask. At first glance it looked impossible to fit even a quick trip to Nigeria into our schedule. After a little pondering and a little changing we now have the time for Kelly Jo and I to go over for a few days but the finances are still a huge obstacle.

We already have mission trip planned to preach tent revival for Bro. Larry Landress/Holiness In Mexico in state of Chiapas, Mexico in December. That trip is set in stone and we are committed to that. We are looking forward to being with Bro. and Sis. Landress and preaching under the tent in Mexico.

When I told Kelly Jo about Bro. Shobanke's invitation she said we probably needed to go there too and if so then God would provide the money. What a woman! It is a tremendous blessing to have a wife willing to stand with me in faith. Praise God for that too.

The final decision needs to be made this week because the visa application/purchase process is long and complicated for Nigeria and must be completed before the airline tickets are reserved. Honestly it is impossible but we are used to God pointing us in impossible directions and then making the way after we have committed to the task.

That may be what God is doing this time. Will you help us pray about it?

God bless you all.

Tabernacle Outreach Meeting - Blanchard Oklahoma

----------------

We are preaching a Tabernacle Outreach meeting this week with the Blanchard Trinity Holiness Church. It is great to be back with Pastor Lendel Birdsong and his church. We are reaching out to their community and we are expecting God to bring folks in. Bro. Lendel and Sis. Cindy are super folks and we are excited about working with them this week.

We arrived Monday afternoon and with help from some of the church folks the chairs were set up in just a few minutes. I could get used to setting up under a tabernacle. It sure is a whole lot easier than setting up the tent and all that goes with it.

Here are the chairs stacked and strapped in the trailer.

And now they are ready to go.

The tabernacle is on a beautiful piece of property in town, along the main highway and right across the street from the church. The Blanchard Campmeeting was held on these grounds for many decades. The campmeeting moved a few miles south of town and built new facilities several years ago and the Blanchard church bought these grounds.

I am not sure what year all of that took place but I know we were living in Wichita so it was some where around  1999-2000. The old tabernacle and the bathroom building are the only buildings that remain. The grounds take up the whole city block and look like a park. It is really nice.

Here are a few pictures pictures of these beautiful grounds and the tabernacle.

I had to throw this one in for Bro. Kim and Sis. Laura Meyers. This is one of their grandchildren, Ella.

Revival began tonight with a good crowd under the tabernacle and also in the neighborhood. Hallelujah! We are expecting it to build each night. Pray that God will help me to reach out with the Gospel to those that need it desperately in this community. I believe He will help!

The Isaacs - Odie

Do not miss the post on Crazy Post Comments and the comments that follow.
------------------------------------

The Isaacs have a new CD out and it includes a song they wrote called  "I Wanna Be There." Ben played a snippet of it for us when we were in the studio recording our new CD. I cried so hard that my eye balls washed out of my head and rolled around on the floor. Wow!

The first verse of "I Wanna Be There"  is about Gordon Mote and the second verse is about Odie. It leaves me in a puddle of tears every time I hear it. It really is that good. The song is awesome.

From the liner notes

Gordon Mote and Odie Boggs

I Wanna Be There written by Jimmy Yeary, Sonya Isaacs, Rebecca Isaacs Bowman

I am sure you can buy the song or whole project on iTunes or you can order the CD HERE.

Odie will have a post in a few days with pictures of a recent service with the Isaacs.

You might be interested in this clip of Odie too.
