#3 Weekend Woundup and Weview

Wow! What an incredible weekend! That pretty much sums it up but I am sure you want more details than that!

Friday morning we left Ellisville for the 300 mile drive to Pine Prairie, Louisiana. We stopped in Baton Rouge at Golden Corral for lunch and then arrived in Ville Platte at the hotel a few minutes before 3:00. We rested a few minutes and then it was time to get ready for the first Youth Rally in the new sanctuary of Christian Tabernacle.

The building was full and the service was powerful. Bro. David Webb preached an outstanding message and the altar service was incredible. God blessed and helped so many folks that night including our family.

Saturday morning was the actual dedication service for the new sanctuary. I will probably have more pictures and information about that later in the week but here are a few pictures now.

After food and fellowship Friday afternoon we pointed the Green Machine toward Ellisville, Mississippi. About 2 1/2 hours later we were stopping in Baton Rouge for supper at Golden Corral again. It was so good both days and we are such creatures of habit!

We were back in the BoggsMobile by 9:00 PM Saturday evening and God blessed us all with a very good night's sleep. I was up early Sunday morning feeling refreshed and ready to go after two great services in Louisiana.

Sunday was a super great start to revival in Ellisville, Mississippi. God spoke to us and moved among us and visited us in the altar. Praise God for His help and I am in great anticipation He will continue to bless all this week.

It is so good to be here with Pastor Kenny Morris and all of our dear friends. Here are a few pictures from Sunday in Ellisville but I am sure we will have many more later in the week.

I updated Sunday morning's post mid-afternoon. Last year when we were in Ellisville I posted this about the view out the front door.

This is one of our absolutely favorite places to park. It is so easy to get into and pull out of. It is close to 50 amp power, close to water and easy to empty the holding tanks. It is also directly next to a laundromat and just two or three doors down from Sonic. Plus it is right here with some of our favorite people in the world. It does not get any better than that.

That definitely makes up for the view of the fellowship hall out the front door.

Sis. Mandy Morris determined that the view out the front door would better this year. Here is our view this year. Look out our door.

That is so funny! I just looked again and sure enough they are still out there and they sure look cold!

One more thing from the weekend. Pastor Darius Templeton called me Sunday afternoon with an absolutely terrific praise report. They had a man saved in their Sunday morning service and that is awesome. What is even more awesome is that the salvation of this man was the cry of his son's heart during revival! God heard that cry! God answered that prayer! Praise God for His faithfulness.

That pretty much wraps up our weekend. Thank you for reading.

Check out our posts from the last week at the links below.

This is our view out the front window now in Ellisville, Mississippi!

This is our view every time we open our door!

Hilarious!!!

Here is our view out the window Friday night at the Best Western in Ville Platte, Louisiana.

The services this weekend in Louisiana were outstanding and I will tell you more about them tomorrow in my weekend report. We are so excited about revival this week at First Assembly in Ellisville, Mississippi. I believe that God is going to meet with us here! I hope you have a great Sunday.

Thanks for reading.

Special Days, Birthdays and The Isaacs!

Hey Friends, thank you for stopping by our part of the World! This is Odie reporting from Pine Prairie, Louisiana. It is so nice to have you along for the ride. I really appreciate you reading.

A Special Day At Christian Tabernacle in Pine Prairie, Louisiana

Today is celebration day for Pastor Barry Gautreaux and the congregation of Christian Tabernacle. We had a great service last night and today is going to be a very special day.

Christian Tabernacle's new sanctuary is completed and today they will dedicate it for God's use. I know a lot of money, hard work, blood sweat and tears have went into this new building! Today we will shout the victory with them!

We are thrilled that God has blessed their labor! It is a honor to celebrate this accomplishment with them! I know that this is going to be a super great service.

Happy Birthday

Today is also a special for a very important person in my life.

The picture below was taken on Tuesday back when my Dad was only 48.

Today is my Dad's 49th birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! You mean the world to me! I am blessed and proud to be your daughter.

This marks the 30th birthday I have celebrated with you. I clearly remember when you were 22 years old and I remember being in revival in Arkansas on your 23rd birthday. We go way back. Lol! I hope today is a truly wonderful day, and I hope this entire year is a year of happiness and blessings.

I am not eloquent with my words, like you are, in birthday posts but thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do for me, our family and ministry. I love you more than I can put into words! I appreciate all that you have taught me. Thank you most of all for teaching me to love God and to follow Him with all my heart!

This picture was taken in Millry, Alabama on my 30th birthday!

The Isaacs

While checking the Isaacs schedule last week I found they were going to be close enough for us to see them. Bill Bailey Promotions had a 2 day event last weekend at Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. The Isaacs were the featured artist for a 1:00 PM matinee concert. Dad drove hard Friday to make it possible for us to be there.

We were thrilled to meet Gatlyn Solomon Yeary on his 2nd weekend on the road. I had no clue we would get to meet him so quickly.

Gatlyn is a precious bundle of joy. I am completely smitten with him!

I had fun with Gatlyn's big brother Ayden too! As you can tell, Ayden loves his baby brother.

The stage was set

Danny Jones from The Singing News.

Josh and Ashlely Franks started the afternoon of Singing.

Now for the main attraction, ladies and gentleman, The Isaacs! I can not use enough adjectives to describe their talent!  The singing and musical abilities they posses are absolutely amazing! I think I smiled from the first strum until they sang their final note.

This was a totally awesome day. It was great to be with our family and friends. Remember you can see the Isaacs tour schedule HERE.

We were thrilled to share this wonderful afternoon with our friends from Richton, Mississippi. It was great to have my friend Rylee Morris there to enjoy the day.

Sis. Kim Morris and Becky Isaacs Bowman.

Bro. Scott Morris was excited to help load up the Isaacs equipment.

Farrell Stearnes was also at the concert. He came in his "Isaacs uniform". It was a blast to share the front row with our friend Farrell!

Soon it was time to say goodbye to Aunt Lily, Ben, Becky, Sonya, Jimmy, Ayden, Gatlyn, Levi, Mark, Veevee and Justin. It was great to spend sometime with our family. We love you all! I look forward to when we will see you on down the road.

I like the rugs the Isaacs had to cover their cords. They should say, "Caution, prepare to hear some awesome music!"

Thanks again for reading! I hope you all have a super weekend. If you are near Ellisville, Mississippi come be with us in revival at First Assembly January 17-22. We are anticipating a fantastic week with Pastor Kenny and Sis. Joan Morris.

Pressure, Pressure, Pressure

Thursday ended up being as busy as we thought it would be and a whole lot more stressful than we thought it would be. The whole ordeal was not near as bad as it could have been but it is nice to see some days come to an end.

Air Pressure

We cranked the BoggsMobile Thursday morning at Cedar Creek and the stress started right them. The sporadic reoccurring air glitch decided to glitch in a big way Thursday morning. I started to call it a day right then but eventually the air system started behaving correctly. We hooked the Green Machine to the bus and headed for Richton, Mississippi to pick up the tent trailer.

Part of the trip from Cedar Creek to Richton is on a very pleasant two lane road. The road only has two drawbacks. It has absolutely no shoulders and absolutely no phone signal most of the way. It was on that section of road that our stress level kicked up about 14 notches.

Oil Pressure

I had been monitoring the gauges as usual and noticed the oil pressure gauge was suddenly maxed out at 80. It normally runs about 50, so 80 is very abnormal. I had to get off the road fast.

Remember there are no shoulders on that stretch of road so there was no place at all to pull over. I stopped right in the middle of the road on a long straight stretch and turned on my hazard lights.

I did not turn the engine off right away because I hated to get stranded with no help around or any way to call help. There was no oil being forced out the dipstick by high pressure and everything sounded normal. I decided to press on slowly to Richton. When I ran through a little phone signal, I called Jeff Rowe and put his mind to work on the problem.

Jeff confirmed for me that IF the pressure was really that high, then the computer would be shutting down the engine. That comforted me some and we made it to Richton just fine. Once I arrived, we shut it down and checked the oil level several times over the next 15 minutes or so and it was fine. No milky oil, no burnt oil and no dry dipstick. OK, it is time to breathe.

We came to Richton to pick up the tent trailer and Bro. Scott had washed it and had it ready for me. I sure am indebted to my friend! He takes better care of my trailer than I do. I do not have to worry about it one second while it is there. I appreciate Bro. Scott Morris and his church for allowing us to park it there for long stretches over the winter.

He also helped me pull it around front, get the tires aired up and get it hooked to the BoggsMobile. Soon, we were ready to go. Thanks again, friend.

While we were there, the school kids were picking up a few hundred pine cones and cleaning up the neighbors yard. Way to go kids!

About two miles after leaving the church the oil pressure gauge came to its senses and starting reading correctly. What's up with that?

I know now the pressure was good all the time but it is nice to have the gauge working. It will have to be dealt with in the future but I guess that keeps life interesting.

We pulled into Ellisville a little while later and we were glad to be there. It had taken us 3 1/2 hours to go 93 miles! Yep, it was just a little more stressful than I had anticipated.

Blood Pressure

Thursday ended up being all about pressure. It was air pressure plus oil pressure equals an increase in blood pressure. But, as regular long time readers know, it could be worse. You already know what I am going to say next, right? I thought my mind would explode with pressure but it could be worse. I could be pastoring a church.

You think I am kidding? Not this time and I have a picture to prove it. My dear Pastor friend sent me this picture and said he was thinking of starting a blog for young preachers and using this as the header picture.

The blog will be called, "So you think you want to be a Pastor?" Or "You Think Pastoring is Easy?"

Sometimes you must look on the bright side to keep from crying!

The day did get better after we arrived in Ellisville, Mississippi. The bus made it safely, the weather was beautiful and we had dear friends to welcome us. That combination should calm a guys nerves every time.

Associate Pastor Andy Stringfellow and his son Blake helped me get the holding tanks emptied, the bus backed in and then Bro. Andy moved the tent trailer behind the church for me with his truck. Thanks, Bro. Andy! Bro. Jason and Sis. Mandy Morris were there to welcome us "home" too and it was great to see them all!

We needed to run into Hattiesburg for a few things and we met Bro. Scott, Sis. Kim and Rylee for supper. THAT was a great way to end the day!

Today we will drive the Green Machine to Pine Prairie, Louisiana. Friday night is youth rally and Saturday is the big dedication service of the new sanctuary of Christian Tabernacle. We are really looking forward to being with Pastor Barry Gautreaux and all of our Pine Prairie fiends and friends from several states that are coming to celebrate. It should be a great day!

We will be back here to begin revival services Sunday morning by God's grace. Come be with us! Thanks for reading.
