Our View Friday In Alaska Through Monday #1

I need to call you to special prayer for our dear friend Pastor Chris Whiffen from Haines City, Florida. Bro. Whiffen was involved in a car accident yesterday and he is broken up very badly. He is facing several surgeries for broken bones in several places and the doctors are still determining the extent of his internal injuries. It is a miracle that he is alive at all and we are praising God for that. Please pray for Bro. and Sis. Whiffen, their family and their church.

Check out our post from this week.  We love hearing from our readers.

I appreciate Odie picking up the slack while we have been out of cell phone and internet range for several days. She has been writing some good posts and I admit it has been very nice to have a break. Her post from Sunday was especially good. Take a moment to read it and digest it if you have not had a chance to do so yet.

We have been having a great trip with my parents, Kelly Jo's parents and my brother Steve and his wife Karen. We have been snapping pictures along the way so while I have signal I thought I would put some posts of pictures together. I hope you enjoy.

Friday and Saturday

We had a chair ready but no Odie

Changing buses unexpectedly on a busy downtown street. It was pretty exciting.

Independence Day

Today is the 239th birthday of America. July 4, 1776 our founding Fathers signed our Declaration of Independence. Our nation was built on a Godly foundation. As an American I am proud of the principles on which our country was founded.

Yesterday while getting info for this post I reread our Declaration. It is a wonderful document. I know Thomas Jefferson along with many others spent many long hours agonizing to get it exactly right. I encourage you to take a few moment click the link to read and hear the Declaration of Independence.

The 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence were some amazing men. They had a vision for us to have a free and Christ centered nation. Here is a clip that tells the stories behind the signers.

Many men fought and died so we could be a  free people. I will forever be thankful for their unselfish sacrifices for freedom! I was moved to tears when I reflected on what freedom cost!  Freedom is truly never free! Thank you if you have served our nation in our Military!

Today I wish the United State of America a Happy Birthday! I pray for mercy, grace and revival! We need to return to God! I leave you with this reminder.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Happy Birthday Kelly Jo

Hello, I hope you have a fabulous Friday. In our family today is a special day. July 3, 1968 the world became a better place. On that day in history my Mother, Kelly Jo (Morgan) Boggs, was born. She is a very special lady and deserves to be celebrated.

Words fail me every time I try to say what my Mom means to me. One word I could use to describe her is amazing! I am blessed with a loving and caring mother. She is a woman of God. Most of the time mom stays in the background, but she is the key that keeps us rolling.

I am proud when my friends tell me that they think my Mom is awesome! I look at them and say, "I know and I have the greatest Mom!"

My mom does have a prankster side.  Her pranks are always fun. Mom does not want to hurt anyone, so she does not get mean with her playful side.

She has taught me how to laugh and have a good time with life. Then she will dry my tears and pray with me when things do not go right.

I love you, Mom! I hope you have a fantastic birthday! I wish I could be there to celebrate you today.

Your favorite daughter,

Odie
