Thank God for Pastor Anthony Munoz

I appreciate every Pastor that asks us into their church. I consider every invitation an honor and a privilege. If it were not for Pastors we would have no place to go. We have been very blessed to preach for some great men the last few weeks in California and the last several years all over this nation.

I am so very glad to be at Souls Harbor in Fresno this week. We love the folks and we enjoy their fellowship. We love the Munoz family and we are always thrilled to see them whenever we can.

I am especially thankful that Pastor Anthony Munoz invited us because it is only by the grace of God that he is alive to do so. Bro. Anthony has survived two very serious battles with cancer. God spared and delivered him and we praise God for it. It could have turned out very differently.

We have lost friends to cancer and other forms of sickness and it is always overwhelmingly sad. We have dear friends that are battling for their very lives right this moment as their families watch, wait and wonder. The hurt and confusion they are experiencing is unspeakable.

All of this causes me to pray fervently for my friends And it produces a profound thankfulness in my heart for the friends that God has allowed to stay with us a few more years. We mourn for those that are gone, we pray for those that are currently in a fight for their very lives and we rejoice with those that are healed and preserved.

Pastor Anthony Munoz is one of those that God healed. Thank God for Pastor Anthony Munoz.

We were out here in the fall of 2011 as Bro. Munoz was going through his second round of cancer. Pastor Jared Burris and I visited Bro. Anthony and Sis. Rosemary the day after his final fatal dose of chemo and the day before they reintroduced his stem cells. It was touch and go and could have easily went the other way. Thank God for His touch.

Below is what I posted then about that visit.

On Tuesday Pastor Burris and I drove over to Stanford, California to see Pastor Anthony Munoz and his wife, Sis. Rose. Bro. Anthony is battling cancer for the second time and is in a very critical phase of his treatment at Stanford Medical Center.

I cannot begin to comprehend all the process but this is how I understand it. They have given Bro. Anthony a lethal dose of Chemo to burn all the bone marrow out of his body. Today they will transplant the stem cells that were taken from him previously. If all goes well this will rid his body of all the cancer.

Please pray that Bro. Anthony's body will respond properly and that he will have no side effects. Pray for the whole family that God will strengthen them physically, emotionally and spiritually. I know God is able to help them through this.

These are pictures that Bro. Anthony has drawn on the whiteboard in his room the last few days. Praise God for a sense of humor on dark days.

Only 43 Days Until Christmas

Only 43 days left until Christmas. Are you ready? What do you buy for the person that has everything? A Christmas CD of course. And we just happen to have one available! You can follow the link and purchase it from our website.

We happen to have a few of these CDs left over from last year. Once their gone they are going to be gone forever. (Until I order some more. Lol)

CDs also make great stocking stuffers especially if you have square feet. Go ahead and order several hundred copies for all of your closest friends, neighbors and strangers you meet at Walmart.

The CD's title is He Came - The Gospel of Christmas. We recorded 9 tracks. It has 8 songs and a short gospel sermon. I have described it as a CD with a Christmas theme rather than a pure Christmas CD.

You can listen to some sample clips of He Came and order it HERE. The lyrics and liner notes for this CD and all of our CDs including those that are currently not in print can be found the Our CDs and Lyrics page.

Here is the song list.

I Could Not Come To You

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen - Instrumental

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
(Yes, "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" is on there twice. Once as and instrumental and once with vocals. There is a small story behind that and  I share it on the liner notes. You can access the lyrics and liner notes HERE.)

Sunday and Monday

Just one picture to keep you going today. Wow! Tacos Monday night from Taco Tijuana in Fresno! So, so so good!

I promised I would bring you up to date in today's post. Sunday was a full day and a great day. We drove to Hanford for our last service there Sunday morning. We really had a good revival from Thursday through Sunday morning. We sure appreciate the folks at Victory Holiness Church for having us this year. We really enjoyed it.

After church we broke down the sound equipment and loaded it up in the Green Machine. After visiting with all the folks and saying goodbye we hurried back to the BoggsMobile in hopes of eating a quick lunch and getting some rest before heading to Fresno.

We left Riverdale a little after 4:00 since we did not know for sure how long it would take us to get to Souls Harbor on the north end of Fresno. 33 minutes later we were pulling in and unloading the sound equipment into the church.

It is great to see all of our friends at Souls Harbor. Some of them have been blessing us by coming to other revivals but it is wonderful to finally be in Fresno. We met many of these folks on that first trip to California in 1992 that I mentioned the other day. Bro. Joe Munoz was the pastor then and they were renting a building down in Fresno. We had an awesome time during that first visit.

Bro. Joe's son Anthony has been the pastor for many years and God provided them a church building several years ago. We have been back here many times in the years since that first visit and we always enjoy it so much.

Monday night was another good service followed by great fellowship and a trip to our favorite taco place in Fresno, Tacos Tijuana. The tacos are wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Hopefully we will make a return trip before we leave the area.

That pretty much brings you up to date on us. One more important thing though. I requested prayer for Sis. Carol Martin yesterday. Odie has been talking to Julie Martin the last two days and she said the results from the tests are not good at all. Please pray for Sis. Martin and the whole family.

Thanks for reading.
