A Fun Day!

We had a great day Thursday kicking around with the Morris family. We shot guns, cooked, ate, laughed a lot and enjoyed time with our friends.

Bro. Kenny and Sis. Joan, Bro. Scott and Sis. Kim and their kids and Bro. Jason and Sis. Mandy and their kids are super folks and wonderful friends. It sure was a blessing to our family to spend a day of "down" time with them.

Bro. Kenny and Bro. Scott went looking for a catfish in some hollow logs.

I think i mentioned yesterday that the weather for Saturday is looking pretty much like rain.

We are going to try to put the tent up Friday evening if we can.  I hope we can get it in the air between showers.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Travel Days - Missouri to Mississippi

Tuesday morning started out in Neosho, Missouri in the city RV Park where we had been for a little over a week.

We loaded the Green Machine in the tent trailer Monday so we could get an earlier start Tuesday morning. It was kind of rainy so we still did not leave very early. By the time the BoggsMobile was hooked to the trailer and the holding tanks were emptied it was nearly 9:00 AM.

The first couple of hours going south down to I-40 was very hilly with spots of construction thrown in for good measure. One we were on I-40 going east in Arkansas we were able to make pretty good progress until we started hitting construction again. It slowed us down quite a bit. We were even completely stopped a couple of places. It made for very tedious driving.

By the time we pulled into Walmart at Batesville, Mississippi my back and shoulder were in knots. We walked around Walmart to relax and spend money then we ate a snack and went to bed.

Because we had driven farther than we had planned on Tuesday our travel distance Wednesday was much shorter than planned. We only had about 250 miles to drive and it was a pretty uneventful day. I did have an issue with the low coolant sensor on the bus this morning and also after I arrived in Ellisville. I replaced it in July while we were in Minnesota and I have not determined if it is faulty or not.

We are parked in Ellisville, Mississippi at First Assembly where Bro. Kenny Morris is Pastor. We are going to rest here tomorrow and then make the short drive to Richton on Friday by God's grace. We arrived in plenty of time for church and it was good to see everybody and to be in service with our friends again. We only took two pictures!

The plan was to set the tent up in Richton on Saturday but the weather guessers are calling for a 70% chance of thunderstorms on Saturday. The chance is only 30% on Friday so we will set it up Friday evening IF it is not raining. After Sunday the chance of rain goes down and the weather forecast is perfect for tent revival. Let's pray that holds true.

God bless you all.

Benji and Laura Burris and Family

God was especially good to some of our dear friends Monday morning. Bro. Benji and Sis. Laura Burris and their four children were travelling from California to Virginia. They had stopped for church Sunday at Desert Cove Assembly in El Mirage, Arizona. They left the Phoenix area early Monday morning and started climbing toward Flagstaff on I-17.

About 20 miles south of Flagstaff an 18 wheeler going the other direction lost a set of dual wheels. The wheels crossed the median and came out of the tall grass headed straight for the Burris family. Bro. Benji swerved but could not move out of the way in time.

The wheels struck their Excursion squarely on the back wheel and then demolished the camper they were pulling behind them. The wheels were moving with such speed that if they had hit their vehicle in the back doors their weight and velocity probably would have propelled the wheels through the truck killing or severely injuring everybody in the back.

In fact if they had hit any where other than where they did, things would have been drastically different. It could have caused Bro. Benji to lose control and go completely off the road. In fact the possibilities for catastrophe are way more numerous than good outcomes except for the hand of the Lord. Praise God for His protection.

We have been thanking God all day for his help and blessing in this accident. The trailer is a total loss and the truck is damaged but things and stuff can be replaced. The Burris family is irreplaceable!

Here is the only picture I have seen and a few pictures of their family when we were in California in July.
