Hot Under the Tent.

I have been posting in the evening the last few days so if you missed yesterday's post you will find it HERE

It is HOT in Oklahoma this week!.

Leave it to me to pick the hottest week so far this year for Tent Revival in Miami, Oklahoma. It is forecast to be a scorcher this afternoon and the next few days.

I know from experience that it can cool down to a tolerable level with a little wind and a slight reduction in temperature. Please help us pray that it will not be as hot as they are predicting. Just the threat of record temps will often keep some folks away. God certainly knows what we need but He has instructed us to seek Him and to ask Him and to make our needs known to Him. I will be doing that a lot the next few days and I am asking you for your help.

We had a great service this morning inside the church here at Faith Pentecostal Church. God visited with us and help us in a sweet and powerful way. We are expecting that to carry over right into the tent services this evening.

It is time to eat a small bite now and then venture out into the sun to prepare for service. I always set up the sound system at least two hours before church on the first night in order to be ready for surprises. They start at 5:00 on Sunday nights so it is about that time.

Thanks for reading...

Tent Goes Up in Miami, Oklahoma

Tent set up went extremely well in Miami, Oklahoma. Pastor Mike Stephens and his men worked hard and well and in no time at all the tent was up. Bro. Jimmy Millikin was also there and working hard as well. Bro. Colton Cravatt, one of the young men traveling with us for a few weeks, had his mom and dad her and they  were helping too. We appreciate all the hard work.

We had a great tent revival here in Miami last year and we are expecting more blessings from the Lord again this week. We will have the first service Sunday evening at 5:00. It is supposed to be very hot the first couple of days this week. Please pray that it will be cooler in the evening.

I hope you enjoy the pictures!

Davy

Everything is laid out the stakes are in the ground and it is time for a break!

We had just enough wind blowing to make it interesting...

After the tent was up we went for a nice Mexican lunch. It was very good.

This is what I ordered...

Bro. Jimmy said that he made the mistake of ordering the same thing I did!

Scheduled Time Off

Make sure you read yesterday's post HERE.

We spent our three days off near Springfield in Ozark, Missouri parked in the little gravel parking lot RV park behind Lambert's Cafe, the home of throwed rolls. Of course we ate at Lambert's a time or two.

One thing we crave at times is sitting outside and watching the sun go down. We miss this because most nights we are in church. We sat outside all three evenings and enjoyed it so much. The weather each evening was beautiful.

v

Kelly Jo and Odie spent some time kicking around Springfield and Branson which is only 30 miles from Lambert's. I spent most of each day resting, reading and taking care of paper work that has to be done to keep things rolling. I also did some work on the bus and messed with the trailer some but nothing serious.

Thursday afternoon we all drove to Branson and met Bro. Jimmy and Sis. Shauna Millikin, their children and Bro. Marty Millikin at Sight and Sound. We have heard quite a bit about Sight and Sound in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and in Branson but we had never been. This year they are doing a live production of the life of Joseph and it was amazing.

I love the story of Joseph. You can see the providence of God all through his life and his incredible forgiveness of his brothers is both inspiring and convicting.

We topped the evening off with another visit to Lambert's. We really enjoyed the fellowship and the meal. We love working with the Millikins and we love and cherish them as dear friends.

This afternoon we made our way to Miami, Oklahoma and everything is measured, marked and ready to raise the tent Saturday morning. We had a nice meal and great fellowship with Bro. John and Sis. Julie Stephens this evening. We are looking forward to lots more of that.

God bless you all...

Time to Confirm Your Arrangements In Montana

I mentioned the July Tent Revival on the blog back in January. Pastor Metzger issued a broad welcome for every one to attend in March. You can read those original posts HERE and HERE.

We have had several folks from around the country express a strong desire to join us in Montana for this Tent Revival. Pastor Mike Metzger and the Sun Valley Church have embraced wholeheartedly the idea of God's people converging in support of the meeting. It would be incredible if you could make plans to support with your presence this great church in their effort to affect their community. You could combine a chance to encourage home missions with a beautiful Montana family vacation. The weather should be gorgeous and I know you will love the people.

Have you considered joining us in Montana? I know many have thought about making the trip and have mentioned to us and/or the Metzger's that you would like to be a part of this tent revival. Now is the time to put your plans into action. The dates are fast approaching and you need to make arrangements if you are going.

Bro. and Sis. Metzger have compiled a list of Motels and Campground within reasonable proximity to their church. Their church is also making room for 22 people to stay in homes of the church folks as you will read below. That is a very generous and gracious offer. However they need to know who and how many are going so that they can make final plans as soon as possible. Please call the number below and discuss your plans with Sis. Metzger. In fact, it would be good if you would call them if you are going, even if you plan to stay in a Campground or Motel.

Keep in mind that the Missoula airport is only 30 minutes from the church and there are various rental car agencies at the airport.

Many that would LOVE to go but are not able to attend for various reasons are praying fervently that God would saturate this revival with His presence in a mighty and powerful way. We appreciate that very much. We are praying that God will move in the lives of people in the Florence/Lolo/Missoula area whether anyone else is able to attend or not. If you could join us in that effort I am sure you could be a great blessing in that respect.

We plan to leave Kansas by July 9th and arrive no later than the 13th. Since we are pulling the big tent trailer we will not be able to zip out as we would in a car. We plan to raise the tent on the 13th and have a dedication service on Saturday the 14th. We will kick off Tent Revival Sunday the 15th and run through the 22nd. You can read more of the particulars in Bro.Metzger's post from March.

Below is the letter from the Metzgers with great information about places to stay.
