Weekend Woundup and Weview #52

This is our Weekend Woundup and Weview plus Christmas.

I will begin the description of the weekend with our arrival home Saturday morning but Odie has some pictures from some shopping time with some of the Morgan family on Friday.

Papaw Danny loves his ice cream!

It sure looks like Gran loves ice cream too.

We backed the BoggsMobile in the barn about 12:00 noon or Saturday. In a few minutes Dad, Odie, Steve and Karen arrived and we jumped in the car to drive to Acapulco and drink a little salsa. It was excellent and it was good to see a few of our friends too.

I spent the rest of the day, working on things that need to be completed after we get parked and then I took a long winter nap too! Kelly Jo and Odie had a bunch of things to finish for Christmas and KJ stayed busy with that until late into the night.

We were planning to be in attendance at our home church Sunday morning anyway but Bro. Bennie called Saturday evening to see if I could be ready to preach for him. I was glad to be able to do it. We had a great time at our home church and enjoyed getting to see everyone.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with Kelly Jo's family. I posted pictures from that on Monday. We ran into very bad weather on the way home and had to struggle to stay on the road several times.

There was not a lot of snow on the ground most places but it was coming down heavy at times. When the heavy snow coincided with the 40+ MPH wind gusts, it became dangerous in a hurry. It was slick, we could see nothing but white out conditions and the Green Machine felt way to light! We were not taking pictures when cars were flying into the ditch and we were sliding sideways but here are a few of the snow.

We were very thankful to make it home safe Sunday night. The normally less than an hour drive took us about an hour and 40 minutes.

We had our little family Christmas in the bus Christmas morning. We always enjoy that a lot and Monday was a perfect example!

Monday afternoon we went next door to the Dodds fellowship hall and celebrated Christmas with my family. All of our family was there with the exception of the newlyweds Deidre and Ben. We visited all evening long and enjoyed it all.

We heard from friends all over the country and received several pictures of good food and friends and family gathered together. All of it was a very nice touch to our already special day. Bro. Shobanke called about 8:00 PM (about 2:00 AM Nigeria time) to wish us all a Merry Christmas. It was very good to hear from him. It capped our Christmas off very well.

That pretty much wraps up our weekend. Tuesday we worked on Odie's house. Dad worked on the electric panel and Steve helped me try to prep the safe room for painting. I hope to work more on that today.

Thank you very much for reading. May God bless every one of you.

Davy
