Sedgwick County Jail Report

Service at the Sedgwick County Jail Wednesday morning was out of this world good. Thank you for praying for us. The guys that go to chapel on Wednesday are going for in-depth Bible study so most of them are confessing Christians looking for strength and striving for spiritual maturity. They are hungry for God and for His help.

When they came into service Wednesday five of us had been in there praying for several minutes. Bro. DiZazzo, Bro. Mitchell, the jail chaplain and new volunteer were praying that God would meet with us and minister to the inmates.

The inmates came in ready to worship and have church. God met with us in a powerful way and it was tremendous. I have been there in many great services but this was one of the best.

One thing we always do is sing "Fix It Man." They love Bro. Joe Bill Houston's song and they sing it about every week in the year. They were singing at the top of their lungs and glorifying God both Tuesday and Wednesday. It was awesome. Bro. Joe Bill would have loved it.

When it came time for preaching they just about preached me silly. They were soaking it up and pulling it out of me. When I called them forward God ministered to us all in a special way. Praise God for His help and His blessing. It sure was good.

Wednesday night revival service at Bethany was very good too. We had lots of fellowship from Pastor Don Crowley and the First Church of God in Christ. It was great to have them and great to have God moving among us. We are excited to see what He is going to do the next two nights.

Thanks again for praying for us and thanks for reading.

Going To Jail Again

We are having service every night at Bethany Revival Center as we usually do during revival. But we are a little extra busy this week. Monday I was busy with the BoggsMobile. I went as far as I can go and there is nothing to do now to the bus until I receive another part toward the end of the week. That frees up a little time.

I am filling that time with preaching at the Sedgwick county jail two mornings. I preached there yesterday morning and I am preaching there again this morning. Preparing and preaching twice a day is certainly enough to keep me occupied.

This is the ninth year in a row that I have preached at the county jail while I am here in revival and I always enjoy it very, very much. The first year I preached once and the next two years I preached three days. This is the sixth year that I have preached two days while I am in revival at Bethany. There is always more days available to me but in order to execute my duties faithfully to Bethany I keep it at two days now. That seems like a pretty good balance.

I love preaching to these guys. Each person in the service is at a different stage spiritually and some are not saved at all. God is always ready to minister to them and many of them are ready to receive it. That makes for a good response to the preaching especially if they know the preacher is real. At times the spiritual opposition is strong but God always brings the victory.

If you read this before 9:30 central time this morning, take a moment to ask God to help me, Bro.Charles Mitchell and Pastor John DiZazzo in the service this morning.

The girls are staying busy preparing for our time away. There's lots of sorting and packing going on along with last minute decisions on what to take and what to leave behind. Odie is not going with us but she is not staying in the bus so she is packing too.

We have got to get the bus back to Ohio after we finish here so pray that I can pull all the electrical stuff together. I think I can drive it without the alternator as I did the last 680 miles out here as long as I drive during the day, run the generator and keep the AC off. I would rather have it fixed though. I hope the next part works and I hope I can install it without problems.

That's all for today. Have a great day.

Where Is Waldo?

In April of 2012 Kelly Jo and I disappeared as part of a planned rest break for about two weeks. We figure it is just about time to do it again. This trip has been two years in the planning and we have had definite plans and reservations for well over a year. We leave Wednesday night June 24th and we are a little excited.

We had no phone service and no internet to speak of for most of our rest time in 2012. I am not sure how we will be situated with phone service and internet signal this time but I imagine it will be a little better than it was then. If we have signal we may post a little along the way but Odie will be taking care of things in my absence.

Last time we had a pretty good time with folks speculating where we were going. I figured I would open it up for guesses again.

Where are we going? I will answer the question with multiple choice and let you decide.

1. Interviewing hundreds MORE candidates for a potential husband for Odie. We have applicants from all over the world.

2. Taking the BoggsMobile in for the new super secret, energy efficient, power boosting technology that will supposedly increase our fuel mileage to 36.4 MPG saving us thousands of dollar$ in fuel every year.

3. Hiking the Appalachian Trail from beginning to end again. This time from Maine to Georgia.

4. We are meeting for high level talks with the upper management of McDonald's to discuss ending my personal boycott of cheeseburgers. They desperately need my "Billions Served" to pull out of their downward financial spiral.

5. Re-filming our new hit reality show "Extreme Liposuction" for the Discovery Channel. The last time their puny little suction motor was not powerful enough. I hear they have upgraded to a 7.3 Powerstroke diesel motor.

6. We are filming a documentary for National Geographic about Odie living harmoniously in the wild with a family of Grizzly bears. The working title is "Meals On Wheels."

7. Swimming across either the English Channel or from Cuba to Key West. We are still investigating which place has fewer sharks AND shallower water.

8. We are attending training and obedience school with our new bus pet. He is a cute little potbellied pig named Wilbur.

9. Wimbledon called saying they need a little more competition for Serena Williams so Kelly Jo will be playing in her first Wimbledon tournament. Look for her at center court in the finals.

10. Recording my second exercise video with Richard Simmons.

11. Okay, It is finally time to hang up our bus keys and Pastor a church. We are considering multiple offers in various parts of the country. (No way anyone that reads this blog regularly is going to believe this one.)

This is an open book quiz so feel free to post your answers here. You might even be able to come up with some more ideas. Several of you know where we are going this time so keep that information to yourselves and don't spoil the secret for those that are guessing.

Have a great day.

Weekend Wound Up and Weport June 15

We arrived in Wichita early Thursday afternoon and hit the ground running. I had some preparation for the pending bus repair to do and several things concerning City Reach here in September to do as well. Right before the sun went down and the rain started Kelly Jo helped me give the BoggsMobile and The Green Machine a quick wash. It was a rush job but they both look so much better than they did.

The new voltage regulator was waiting for me when I arrived. I jumped out there Friday morning to put it on between rain showers. On the bright side it was very easy to install. It is easy to get to. It has four wires attached and is held on the bus by two screws. On the not so bright side it did not solve my problem.

Jeff Rowe from East Tennessee Luxury Coach is on the case and will get it figured out for me. If worse comes to worse I can run it home just like I drove it here from Effingham. I will keep you posted.

Kelly Jo prepared a tremendous meal Friday night!

We arrived a little early to help plan and prepare for our first City Reach campaign which will be held here in Wichita September 6-13, 2015. As of right now we have three churches on board to co-host and promote City Reach. The churches are Bethany Revival Center - Pastor John DiZazzo, First Church of God in Christ - Pastor Don Crowley and New Horizon Holiness Church - Pastor Terry White.

Bro. DiZazzo drove me to several possible City Reach locations Friday evening and Kelly Jo and I returned to a few of them Saturday plus a few more that had been suggested. We have some super great prospects for location and we are excited to be at this point. Help us pray for direction and then cooperation from property owners, neighbors and officials.

Saturday afternoon we had planned a meeting with the Pastors and their wives to discuss City Reach. Pastor Terry White was out of state for a wedding but we had a very productive meeting between Bro. and Sis. DiZazzo, Bro. Crowley, Kelly Jo and myself. There is no telling what God is going to do for this city and individual lives in September 2015.

We have received word from several people that intend to join us in a City Reach campaign next year. As I have mentioned before we are excited and thankful for every one who can attend, worship and work. I know that God will bless you for your efforts. If you would like to get a head start on next year and join us this September let us know. We would be glad to have you.

Saturday evening was beautiful in Wichita. I am so thankful for the wonderful weather. It was a scorcher when we arrived Thursday and the forecast was for more hotness. Thankfully the rain cooled it off some and Friday and Saturday temperatures were very nice and tolerable.

Revival kicked off in high gear Sunday morning and continued in high gear Sunday night.

Bro. Jimmie Radcliff came up from Sapulpa Sunday morning for service and stayed for lunch. It sure was good to have him with us. Thanks, Bro. Jimmie.

That wraps up our wonderful weekend in Wichita, Kansas. Thanks for reading.

Check out our posts from this last week at the links below.

After having the same view for two whole weeks and three Sundays it was really past time to mix it up a little bit. We sure did mix it up in a hurry. We spent the night parked at home Sunday night and then four different places the next four night.

Our view out the front window at the Flying J in Effingham, Illinois Monday night.

Celebrating Seth

Hey friends!

I know most of you are having a warm Saturday but hopefully it is a wonderful day. Wichita, Kansas is our location today.

We are anticipating a great week with Pastors John and Judy DiZazzo and all our friends at Bethany Revival Center. Come join us in revival. We would love to have you in service with us.

We have covered several states and many miles since my last post. It has turned into an adventurous week. Please check Dad's postings for all the details.

Thursday Dad told you of the new project in memory of Bro. Marty Millikin, "His Music His Life." I highly recommend this project. If you are acquainted with the Millikin Family I know it will bless you.

Last Saturday afternoon Mom and I journeyed to Hillsboro, Ohio. It was great to see the Morgan side of our family again before hitting the road. Being home on birthdays is a rarity for us. It was a blast to celebrate my cousin Seth's 8th birthday.

It seems like only yesterday that Seth was born. It was June 6, 2007. I was in Missouri when I received the news. The baby grandchild of our Morgan crew was born in Ohio. Wow I feel I only blinked twice and he is now 8.

I have a message for you, Seth Erickison Evans. I want you to remember that Uncle Davy, Aunt Kelly and Odie will always love you!  You are a so smart and hilariously funny. I am so proud to call you my cousin.

Below I am posting some pictures from the birthday gathering.

I hope you have an excellent weekend. I pray God meets all of us in a special in church tomorrow.

Odie
