More 50th Birthday, Revival and BoggsMobile

First, I have a few more pictures of the Birthday boy. Odie found these and thought they should be included. I agree. These were all taken in June of 2013 at our parents 50th Anniversary celebration.

I hope you are having a great day, Bubba.

We are having a wonderful week at Forts Lake Assembly. This revival is outstanding. Praise God for His help each and every night. Evangelizing is lots of fun but it is even better when revivals are this good. We appreciate Pastor Tim Cauley and his folks having church with us this week.

Tomorrow I plan to have pictures from the revival. We have several from each night ready to post and we will take a few more tonight.

We will probably leave Friday night after church. We only have about 400 miles to travel to our next revival in Douglas, Georgia. But we have an appointment in Tifton, Georgia to have something looked at on the bus. I need to arrive there as early as I can. If I can drive part of the way after church then we would not have to crank before daylight Saturday. It will all depend on how I feel when church is over Friday.

As I mentioned earlier this week, we always have several projects on standby involving the BoggsMobile. There is one project I have been messing with for a few months. I have been babying things along until I could get a professional to look at it.

That will happen in Tifton on Saturday if all goes as planned. I hope to receive a final verdict on this problem and I am hoping against hope for a positive report. If the final diagnosis is as it seems currently then we are going to have to replace a very expensive system. I will keep you informed when I know more.

Well, that pretty much brings you up to date. Thank you for reading.

Happy 50th Birthday to My Bubba - Steve Boggs

Today is the final day of my brother Steve's 50th year. Tomorrow March 20, 2014 he will be 50 years old. That is a milestone worth marking. He is the first of the Boggs siblings to reach 50. Steve has led us every step of the way. For a very brief time all 4 of us have been in our 40's but this is the last day of that.

Steve has been married to Karen for over 25 years and they have 3 children, Deidre, Victor and Isaac. He has worked for the same company in Cincinnati for most of those years and is a dependable and faithful employee. Steve and his family live in Waynesville, Ohio within a mile of our other siblings and within 2 1/2 miles of our parents.

For over 11 years Steve has taken care of our mail and any other business that comes up in Ohio. One of the main reasons we are able to leave home and stay gone for months at a time is because I am confident that Steve will take care of anything that needs to be done for us.

I consider Steve as one of my very best friends in the world. I know that many of you reading do not know him and may never meet him. But my brother Steve has had a major impact on our lives and influence on what we do. So in a way, if you know us, then you know Steve.

I want to wish Steve a very happy and blessed 50th Birthday. We all three love you, Bubba, better than a hog loves slop!

Here are a few pictures of Steve. Note to self: Take more pictures of family.

BoggsMobile and Color Pro Technologies

I put up Monday's post pretty late in the afternoon so you may have missed it.

Several folks have asked about the work we had scheduled on the BoggsMobile on Friday before Allentown. Although we have several projects on standby this one was actually the finishing of a project started last fall in Pensacola.

Back in October I left the BoggsMobile with Bro. Jake Parkerson and Color Pro Technologies for them to work on some major clear coat issues on the BoggsMobile. They had it while Kelly Jo and I made a quick trip to Nigeria to dedicate the new Osara Rd. church in Abeokuta.

Most of the worst problems were up high  on the bus in the white paint and I could not get a good picture of it. The two pictures below of the clear coat peeling on the blue paint give you a little glimpse of the problem.

Long time readers may remember the bad hail storm that we went through in Dothan, Alabama on March 27, 2011. It was wicked. Even though it was even worse a couple of miles away at Walmart, it was bad enough to do serious damage to the clear coat and paint on the roof of the BoggsMobile. Jake is the one that fixed all of that then.

They did not have time to fix everything in October while we were in Nigeria but they took care of all the major clear coat problems and some of the cosmetic problems as well. It was a huge job.

It tuned out really, really good. Bro. Jake and his guys do great work. That is why he is in high demand from Mobile, Alabama all the way across the panhandle of Florida. I could not be more pleased with the the way the clear coat shines now and more importantly the clear coat is back in place to protect the paint.

I also have some bubbling issues around some of the rivets where the stainless meets the sheet metal but that fix that was going to require a whole lot more time than I had available.

When we arrived in Pensacola from Nigeria in October we were pressed for time pretty badly. Jake's guys were not able to put the finishing touches on the front so Friday before Allentown Jake worked nearly 11 hours on it.

The front shines like new money now. Jake Parkerson is a great guy with a big heart and we appreciate all the work he has done. I recommend Color Pro Technologies for all your RV painting and body work needs any where within a few hundred miles of Pensacola.

While I was there I watched some mobile glass guys replace one side of a windshield on another RV. It was an interesting process and I enjoyed watching and visiting with those guys.

They showed me the bill for the labor and material. It was over $1700 and they said that is pretty cheap for motorhomes. Wow! I have found something on the bus that is cheaper to replace that a conventional RV. I Usually pay between $200 and $250 for labor and material to replace one side of the windshield on the bus. I guess that is a bargain!

It pays to be thankful for the small things. Thanks for reading.

A Wet Travel Day

Saturday was a travel day for the BoggsMobile. It is only 22 miles from Allentown Church to Forts Lake Assembly in Moss Point, Mississippi. The route runs through the woods on good roads with big wide turns. We had no time constraints on the day so we were all set for a smooth short travel day.

You know better than that, right? IF we had made the short trip early in the day it would have been fine. But since we had all day, I let the girls rest as much as they could Saturday morning before prepping things to leave. Just about the time I went outside to get things ready the sky opened up and dropped a bunch of water on top of us.

I rolled up the cords in the rain. I rolled up the drain hose in the rain. I loaded the wheel chair in the rain. I picked up all the boards in the rain. (I had used every board we own to get level.) I emptied the holding tanks in the rain. I drove in the rain. I parked in the rain. I leveled in the rain. I hooked up the electric in the rain.

My short travel day turned into a short but very, very, very wet travel day. I do have one consolation though. At least I am not pastoring a church! No, I have an additional consolation. I did not have to shovel snow! Praise God for that.

We started revival Sunday for Pastor Tim Cauley at Forts Lake Assembly. We have preached several revivals here and it is good to be back. We always have a great time here and it does not hurt that Sis. Ruthie Cauley is a fabulous cook!

Bro. Cauley had five young people associated with one family meet with him at the church Thursday afternoon to be saved. He talked with them and prayed with them and they all went away rejoicing.

Sunday morning they were all in service and in the altar praying again. It was glorious! They also had one more with them and he was saved Sunday morning. It was a great way to kick off revival! Sunday night was an awesome service from the very beginning. God certainly touched some folks in the altar service and we are all anticipating great things all week long. Thanks to those of you that pray for us regularly. God bless you for it.

We will have some pictures from Forts Lake by the end of the week. Have you looked at all the pictures from Allentown? The Allentown links are below.

Thanks for reading.

Allentown Campmeeting 2014 Report by Odie

Allentown Campmeeting 2014 Report by Odie

God helped us at Allentown Campmeeting so much this year. The preaching, singing and altar services were all so good. It was also great to get to spend some time with so many good friends. It has been a while since I had seen some of them.

Dad has been posting pictures from each day. You can see all of the pictures by following these links.

I hope you have enjoyed all of the pictures. A few different folks helped us in taking pictures but Sis. Julie Martin took a lot of the pictures that were taken with my iPhone. That was a big help to me since I have some difficulty getting around all the tables in the fellowship hall in my wheel chair. Thanks, Julie!

The preaching was good in every service. God touched the preachers with His Word and the preaching touched us. Praise God for the power of His Word. It was wonderful. I have tried to list the name of each preacher, their text and their title. I hope I got them all correct.

Thanks for reading about Allentown. Maybe you should make plans to attend next year starting the second Tuesday in March.

Friday Pictures From Allentown Campmeeting

Friday night ended with several people being saved. It was wonderful. Praise God for salvation. It has been an awesome Campmeeting.

Odie has a rundown of all the preachers and what they preached. I will try to post that Monday. For now, here are a bunch of pictures from Friday.

Thank you for checking the blog.
