San Diego, California

Last week we kicked around San Diego for two days. We had never been to that part of California but had always heard how beautiful it is. It definitely lived up to its reputation for beauty. We stopped by to watch the waves roll in and then went back to the same place later to watch the sun go down. We were very impressed!

In the mean time we drove through the "Gas Lamp" district which is downtown, walked along the pier where the USS Midway is docked and moseyed into Red Lobster for some Endless Shrimp! Here is a picture of my first plate.

The next day we walked and walked and walked through the World Famous San Diego Zoo. None of our pictures turned out very well but here are a few. This first picture is Odie trying to "run" away from the Cheetah. It was hilarious! The Cheetah followed Odie along the whole length of the enclosure. If you zoom in on this picture you can see the Cheetah's head. Notice the man in the red shirt watching. He noticed it too. It was so funny and Odie was soooooo scared! There is no way the Cheetah could get to Odie but Odie was really spooked!

After Odie was out of sight the Cheetah kept looking the direction she went!

Kelly Jo and Odie posing next to the elephant.

And the friendly neighborhood Rhinos! They were so nice to raise their heads and pose for us. When we quit taking pictures they laid their heads back down. They were real hams....

San Diego is a very nice city although the traffic is much like Los Angeles which is horrible! I wouldn't want to live there without a helicopter! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

BUS-ted

We have several pictures from last week that we want to post but today's pictures take first place. We were pulling out of a church in Bloomington, California this morning and high-centered the BoggsMobile and got stuck! The bus is actually sitting on the step under the mid door in these pics! Both front wheels and the back right wheels were spinning free of the concrete.

I dragged some going in so I was having Kelly Jo pull out very carefully as I was putting boards under the wheels. Just as we were about to clear the high spot the boards spun out and down it went. My little heart nearly stopped! Thankfully we finally got it out without any damage to the stainless on the bay doors but it was a job. We were praying hard and working hard and the Lord came through!

We planned to make it all the way to El Mirage today but my nerves were shot so we stopped a little short of our goal. We start revival on Wednesday so we have plenty of time. Thanks for praying for us!

Riverdale Recap

All the post we did from Riverdale, California seemed to be recording updates. We had a great time for over two weeks. We have a lot of friends there!! They know how to make you feel right at home. Thanks to Pastor Spencer and the entire church for your friendship! We love and miss you all!!!!

It is always amazing to me to see what God is doing through this church. The congregation is definitely willing to work for God. Because of their willingness and faithfulness they have some awesome results!! Just like any other body of believers they have their bumps in the road, but they do not allow that to slow them down.
Bro. and Sis. Spencer and their leadership are a huge encouragement to our family!!!

After the recording we had a revival at the church. God met us in each service! It was a time of encouragement and God reaching for one more lost soul.

Bro. Chuck Spencer invited us to do the chapel service for Riverdale Christian Academy on Wednesday morning. It was a good chapel service. The junior high and high school choirs sang. It was the first time they had sang in chapel this year. Both choirs sounded awesome! Bro. Jim and Sis. Darla Davis do a wonderful job with the choirs at Riverdale!!!

The Pictures are not sending correctly from my phone so I will try to add them at later time.

Random Recording Ramblings

Dad has been updating you on the recording as it has progressed. There is still a lot that needs to be done before it is released next year. We are happy to say our work here in California is finished. I am very pleased with how its turned out.

Bro. Chuck and Bro. Dale Spencer have worked so hard on this project. They are extremely tallented and it's been a blast to work with them!!! We have laughed so hard and have made a lot of memories that will last forever.

Happy Belated Birthday Odie Podie

On October 14th Odie turned 25 years old. We were so busy preparing for our recording the next day that we didn't have time to celebrate properly. We wished her Happy Birthday, gave her some cards and ask for a raincheck on her party.

Well the raincheck came due last night (Saturday) and it was time for sauerkraut and cake, but not necessarily together.lol When yesterday evening rolled around we gathered at Bro. Chuck and Sis. Lyndsay Spencer's house for German Sundaes! Wow! They were soooooo good! If you have never had a German Sundae you need to ask Odie about it sometime. It is Odie's choice for a birthday meal and I'm glad of it. I think everybody here enjoyed them.

After the meal we broke out the cake, Odie blew out the candles and sealed the deal. She is now officially a Big 25 years old.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Odie! We love you very much! We are so glad to have you as a part of our little family. We thank God for you. May He continue to bless you for many more years!

Friday 10/22/10 Riverdale Update

Wednesday night we closed revival at Riverdale Assembly with a good service. God was working among the lost and a few responded. We appreciate Pastor Spencer and his church for having us for revival and for all their kindness.

Yesterday we worked on correcting some vocals on the recording and hope to finish up this evening. (Friday) It has been so much fun to work with Bro. Chuck and Bro. Dale Spencer. These guys are very talented and a barrel of laughs. It has been our privilege and pleasure to work with these guys the last few weeks.

We hope to have the Live CDs in our hands by March 1. Of course there are many factors involved in putting a project like this together but that is our target date. We are taking preorders and a few churches and several individuals have already ordered. The preorders help us with financing the project and we are very thankful for each one. I'll put the necessary information below.

Health wise we are all doing well. We praise God that our voices are pretty strong. We are praying for so many that are sick and many that are facing difficult circumstances. When I realize what others are facing it is easier to be thankful for the blessings we have even when they are tempered with a few trials.

Mr. Cheap Jeep spent a few days in the hospital again this week but he seems to be feeling better now. It needed the front wheel bearings replaced along with the valve cover gaskets and a few vacuum hoses. I appreciate Bro. Tim Goldsmith from here in Riverdale taking care of Mr. Jeep for me. We have spent a little money on it the last three weeks and will probably have to replace the tires soon but that is still better than having a newer vehicle with a monthly payment. We thank God for Mr. Cheap Jeep.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday and today. Below the pictures is the information for preordering the Live CD.

Thanks,

Davy

The Live CD can be preordered by sending $15 for each CD to our P.O. Box. Make sure you include your address clearly printed. When we receive the project we will ship it to you. We will cover the costs of shipping on all preorders. If a church wishes to preorder 10 or more CDs the cost will be $10 each and we will ship all the CDs to a single address. I have a form for churches. If you would like a copy of the form drop me an email and I will send you one. Make checks payable to Boggs Family Ministries

10/20/10 Live Recording Update

We have been working on the recording quite a bit this week. Kelly Jo worked the piano on Monday and Bro. Dale Spencer worked on the bass Monday and Tuesday nights after church. It all sounds very good. We plan to do some work on vocals starting Thursday. Please keep praying that God would provide strength for our voices.

Revival is going well too. Last night the Lord helped several in the altar and we are very thankful. Tonight will probably be the last night because several of their men are leaving on a mission trip to Haiti the end if the week. We are expecting God to move among us tonight.

God bless all of you.
