Sounds Like Fun!

It is not all fun and games out here on the road, but by God's grace, we can handle a few "First World" problems. Lest you think it is all Mexican food, terrific weather and awesome services, we let you see some of the bumps along the road.

Many of you may remember the astonishing gift of sound that came to us through Ben Isaacs for City Reach and beyond.

We have used and continue to use this incredible sound system under the tent and in churches all over the USA. We set it up and used it for the very first time in February 2016 at the House of Prayer in Gainesville, Texas where we have been in revival this week.

It is also the first place we loaded it in the BoggsMobile.

During tent revival season we carry some of the system in the tent trailer. Last year we added two very fine Meyer speakers that are smaller and self powered. That was also made possible by the kindness of Ben Isaacs.

With those two new speakers in our sound arsenal, we decided this year to leave most of the tent revival system behind until tent revivals begin later this year. We are fine with our smaller system except for tent revival and larger crowds in bigger churches.

That was working great until one of our old Mackies quit. Then one of the new Meyers had to be sent in for warranty work. We were still Okay because I had picked up another used Mackie 450 cheap at Guitar Center last fall. Until that new to us Mackie went out Sunday morning.😦

No problem, we had purchased the warranty with the used Mackie. Yes, problem, the Guitar Center warranty is administered by the same people that insured Odie's lost phone last summer. The same company that caused Kelly Jo to be without a phone for 7 days and Odie to be without a phone for 24 days and cost me over 20 hours on the phone.

Yep, I could sense that dealing with this issue was going to be fun.

The warranty states they will either repair the speaker, replace the speaker or refund ALL of the money I spent on the speaker. I am not too far from a Guitar Center this week so I was ready to zip the Mackie down there for repair. Except the warranty company would not authorize a diagnosis, would not authorize the repair and would not authorize a replacement. They would refund PART of the money, shorting me $90 and only refunding the money after the speaker has been shipped to them and only in the form of a Guitar Center gift card.

I hate to lose $90 as much as the next guy, but the worst part is time elapsing and being short one more speaker. However, there is a bright spot. I will have the other Meyer back soon and that will make all things well. They Meyer warranty is handled in house and is superb! Thanks again to Ben Isaacs and Meyer for that!

I have nothing bad to say about Guitar Center. They have done what they could. The only fault I find with them is using the same company for warranties/insurance that AT&T uses. You better believe I will be looking closely in the future as to who is standing behind the warranty.

When I told the representative on the phone that I thought I should get all the money back as the warranty stated, she offered to refund the money I spent on the warranty. Then I could keep the non-functioning speaker "as is". I almost took her up on it as a matter of principal.

Are we having fun yet? Yes, we are! It could be worse, you know. I could be pastoring a church. That sounds like fun.

Thank you for joining the frivolity!

No Vintage View Today

Sorry, no Vintage View Vednesday post today. I was under the weather Tuesday evening. I did feel better during and after church, but I am not going to be able to stay up and put the post together. I may be up early in the morning. If I am, then I will post the Vintage View. Hopefully, I will Not be up early. I need to sleep this off if possible.

Pray for us all. We do not need to be sick.

Thank you,

How Do I Leave A Comment?

We appreciate comments here on Mile Markers, but we do not live and die by comments. We post pictures and commentary here to make written and visual evidence of where we have been and what we have done. If we need to know something about our lives, or the BoggsMobile or a church where we preached revival in October of 2010, we can find it right here.

Mile Markers serves us as our own personal journal and travelogue.

Mile Markers is also a great way to keep a few members of our family and some friends informed as to the daily events in our lives. It is surprising and pretty neat that 400-500 other friends also tune in and read on a daily or near daily basis. Thank you for that.

We encourage comments and we love comments, but comments or the lack of comments does not change things around here. We keep posting pictures and stories and spiritual truths whether there is a big stir in the comments or not.

However, some of the changes in Google have made posting comments a little confusing. We hear quite regularly, "How do I leave a comment?" or "I tried to leave a comment, but it never showed up." I have taken a few screenshots of the actual comment process from a desktop view. Maybe it will help.

If you want to comment or read comments click on the word comment at the bottom of the post.

Then you type your comment in the dialog box or click on reply under an existing comment.

Then hit Publish.

You may need to select your profile. It may be a Google ID or as Anonymous.

After you click "publish" you may be asked to prove you are not a robot

Then scroll down and click on "publish" again. I think this may be the step that is often missed, because you can not see the publish button without scrolling down.

If the comment was submitted correctly, it will either say "Your comment was published" or "Your comment will be published after moderation."

That is how it is done. Posting a comment from a mobile phone is very similar. The main thing that hangs people up is completing the CAPTCHA and then moving on down to publish.

Of course, you can also scroll down to the bottom of the page on the desktop view and fill out the blog contact form. That is emailed directly to us. We receive a lot of notes through that as well.

Thank you for stopping by today.
