My Friend Rachael Metzger

Hello Friends,

This is Odie checking in from beautiful Montana. The beauty of this state never ceases to amaze me. God created so many amazing places and I feel blessed to get to travel and experience so many incredible things.

I have so enjoyed our time with our friends at Sun Valley Church. We have had wonderful services. Pastor Mike Metzger and everyone here treats us like family and welcomes us to our Montana home.

It is always a joy to be with them. We first visited the Metzger Family and their church over 12 years ago. Time flies when you are having fun.

I am grateful for the friendships we have gained from that visit. I am thankful that God brought our families together. I look back and say that was a God ordained visit.

I want to introduce you to one of my friends here in Montana. Her name is Rachael Metzger and she was one of the first people to greet me 12 years ago at Sun Valley Church. I will admit I get nervous when going to new places, but I quickly found a friend in Rachael.

Rachael is precious and it is an honor to be her friend. She brightens the room when she is near by. She always has a note and an encouraging word.

Rachael is willing to lend a helping hand and she is always there making sure I have everything I need. I cherish the times I get to be with her.

It is a joy to be in a church service with Rachael too. I am encouraged just by seeing her get help from God. She is truly hungry for more of God and the Lord rewards her with His visitation. Service after service Rachael will leave tears on the altar. Also she is so happy helping others pray too. Some of my sweetest blessings have come by praying with Rachael. I know God hears her prayers!

I am so thankful for this sweet lady and friend. She is a gift from God! I will forever be grateful for the impact she has had on our lives. I know I have a friend for life in Rachael!

People all over this country that have met Rachael Metzger and they never forget her. She has been a blessing and encouragement to many people.

Thank you for stopping by and reading today. I hope you have a fabulous weekend. May God bless you is my prayer.

AC Cover Fun and Games

You may remember that the Monday we left Wichita we had to drive in terrible cross winds all day long. Every moment of driving was a strain and at the end of the day I felt as though I had been beaten with a baseball bat. My whole body was sore.

Unfortunately, I was not the only thing that took a beating. We lost another Air Conditioner cover. This time it was the third one from the front. Can you see it missing?

Losing an AC cover is a nuisance and an inconvenience if the weather is going to be clear with no precipitation. If there is rain or snow in the forecast, it becomes and emergency. I ordered one from Amazon Prime on Tuesday and they guaranteed delivery by Thursday morning. After the order went through the deliver date changed to Friday evening.

Every day with the AC uncovered means a little more chance for water going inside the BoggsMobile so I sent an email asking about the delay. (Is this the new Prime THREE day shipping?) Some one emailed me right away and said they had upgraded to overnight shipping and it would arrived on Wednesday. Cool!

No, not cool. It did not arrive until Thursday afternoon. Since there was a forecast for rain and snow Thursday about noon, we had to cover the AC with a tarp. We did not have a ladder handy so I lifted Kelly Jo up through the escape hatch and she had the tarp on in a few minutes.

She is a good kid!

We have not had good success with AC covers since we installed the four Air Conditioners in November 2009. The number four air cover (back) has never been replaced but the front three covers have been replaced several times. I need to go through my records and figure how many of these covers I have purchased the last 8 years.

We knew this third one was on its last legs in March of 2016.

We put screws with washers to compensate for the cracks and then taped the cover on too. You can read about that HERE. I have been on top since then and checked the screws in all of the covers and taped the front three covers.

The high wind driving between Wichita and Colorado must have been the final straw.

The new cover was delivered Thursday afternoon and Saturday in Colorado was warmish (45?) and no wind. It was the perfect time to put it on. Kelly Jo handed me tools from the inside hatch and Bro. McCoy handed me the cover, took pictures and laughed at me! I guess we made a good team because it is now installed.

The cover was sent without replacement screws. Amazon compensated me for the missing screws, but thankfully I did not need them ... yet. Three of the screws were still in place. The forth screw was out and rolled backward on the bus and became lodged under a wire. You can see the wire on the left in the picture below, indicated by the very artistic arrow.

It rode there for no telling how many hundreds of miles and that is the second time that has happened. I will pick up another set of screws because I never know when I will need them, but I will need them.

Here is a funny concerning this AC cover. You may remember we stopped at Colaw RV Parts the previous Monday while going from West Plains, Missouri to Wichita, Kansas. Kelly Jo and Odie asked me if I thought we should by an AC cover there. I said, no, I checked them all a few weeks ago and I hate to carry a very fragile plastic cover for months and never use it!

I guess I could have carried it a week though!😇

I lost a front AC cover a few feet before the Colaw exit in December 2015, stopped and purchased one for only $80! I commented then on the blog that things do not usually work out so well for me and I guess I just had to prove it this time!

Well, at least we are covered.

Thanks for reading today.

Revival At Sun Valley Church

Odie mentioned Saturday that my mother (Martha) was having a procedure on her heart this past Monday. The procedure was completed safely and she is home resting and recuperating. Thank you for praying for her and Dad. We are confident that she will be on her feet and ready to go very soon.

Have we mentioned that we are very glad to be back in beautiful Montana? This was taken from the church parking lot.

In yesterday's travel post I told you that I would take pictures in the daylight to show you how good Kelly Jo is at parallel parking. The BoggsMobile is over 45' with the tow bar sticking out the back so parking it any where in a space of 60' or less can be a challenge.

Look at this. She has 11 1/2" between the windshield wipers and the shed.

In the back she has 23" between the tow bar and the fence post.

That means she parallel parked the bus in a spot 34 1/2" longer that the BoggsMobile itself. Yep, she is good!

We are thrilled to be back with Pastor Mike Metzger and his folks at Sun Valley Church. God has blessed us with wonderful, faithful friends here and we are always honored to come back.

Revival began last night at 7:00 and we plan to go through next Wednesday night. We will have church every night but Saturday and the service Sunday night will begin at 5:00. We are looking forward to wonderful blessings from God each and every service.

The meals and fellowship have already been grand and we know that friendship and conversation will flow freely all week long. It is going to be an awesome week.

Odie snapped a few pictures beginning with lunch Wednesday and we added a few from the snow after church Wednesday night. I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for reading.
