Thursday At Bible Holiness - Elkton, Virginia

We made it to Elkton, Virginia Thursday in time for church at Bible Holiness. We were here for Homecoming revival in May and had a wonderful week. We did not expect to be with them again so quickly but we are super glad to be back. Pastor Brent Gabbard invited us to preach when he found out we were going to be in Bristow for the City Reach service and I am happy we could make it happen.

It was good to see everyone again and to experience the presence of God in the service as well. We had a good altar service and we are expecting to hear good reports in the coming days and weeks of God's goodness and wondrous works.

Later today we plan to move over to Bristow, Virginia for our last City Reach Planning and Vision service of this whirlwind tour. We are looking forward to being with Pastor Ken Taylor and his folks and whoever else wants to join us for City Reach Washington D.C. There is a lot of excitement across the country about bringing revival to our nation's capital and I hope to share some of that excitement with the local folks in the D.C. area.

Please pray that God will bring the right people to the meeting and that I will speak the right words with the right spirit. God certainly knows how to do it.

I hope you enjoy a few pictures from Bible Holiness.

New Hope Deliverance Outreach

New Hope Deliverance Outreach has been started recently in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma as an outreach to men and women recently released from jail. They are also ministering to folks battling substance abuse. Bro. Larry Landress is advising in this new effort and he asked me if I would mind stopping in to preach Tuesday night. Who me? Absolutely!

We had planned to start toward Virginia Tuesday but my excitement at the prospect of preaching in the outreach carried the day. I am so glad Bro. Larry invited me and I am so glad we were blessed to stay. The whole evening was an absolute treat.

When we first arrived in town Tuesday we parked the bus at Walmart and then went with Bro. Larry and Sis. Rosemary to lunch. We enjoyed a great meal and even better visit with our dear friends. We have not seen them enough this last year and we intend to make up for it!

We had a great crowd and a wonderful time Tuesday night at the outreach. God moved in the service and we had a 100% response in the altar from everyone physically able. Praise God for His help! I love watching God reach for people that need Him and I love to see people respond.

We were also blessed to see several friends that we do not get to see very often. We first preached in Pauls Valley over 25 years ago in August/September of 1990 and God blessed us with some life long friends in that revival. Some of those we see a few times each year but many of the ones we saw Tuesday we do not see very often. It was a real blessing to be with them again.

We have made tremendous progress on our cross country trek and we should be in Elkton, Virginia in plenty of time for church tonight.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy the pictures from Tuesday night.

Aunt China Upton

Another of my mother's sisters passed away Sunday. Aunt China Upton was a precious lady and we loved her very much. She had five beautiful daughters and had been a widow for over 30 years.

Aunt China was very gracious and always made a big deal out of our singing and my preaching. She was a joy to have in service with us whenever she could be there. Aunt China had been pretty feeble for quite a while but loved to go to church.

Here she is in revival with us at Anchor of Hope in Lebanon, Ohio in August with her daughter Terry from El Paso.

This is with my Mother dear in the mix.

Please pray for my Mother and her family. They have had several heartaches recently in the immediate family. She has lost two sisters, a nephew and another nephew's wife since late in August.

We are on a long and quick trip across country right now. We left Pauls Valley, Oklahoma after church last night and we plan to be in Elkton, Virginia for church Thursday night. There are a few miles that need to be covered in between and hopefully when you read this, we are clicking them off.

Thanks for reading.
