A Little Catch Up

We are playing catch up on several fronts this week so this post will bring you up to date on several little things.

1. I am still working on the BoggsMobile. I am having trouble getting a pin out of a part and have been stuck at that point since Monday. I have somebody coming to help today and I will give you a full update on that when it is finished.

2. Kelly Jo and I were planning to spend a couple of days by ourselves this week to celebrate our anniversary. Our anniversary is over two weeks away but we will be in revival that week. Since this week was canceled this looked like a good time. We did not feel like we could leave with the bus problem unresolved so we are sitting tight a few days.

3. The down time has not been wasted. Odie has written her part for her On The Road Again newsletter and Kelly Jo and I have been trying to do our part. We have been working on that quite a bit this week. We are hoping to send out a letter concerning City Reach 2016 along with the regular newsletter. There are lots of churches that receive the newsletter and lots of folks in those churches are not online. Hopefully we can get that out next week.

4. Bro. Herman Woods was supposed to go home yesterday. Sis. Margaret said he still had some things to work on but they are all amazed at the progress he has made. He is still can not say all he wants to say but that he is doing great. We give God all the glory for helping Bro. Herman and Sis. Margaret. I know they are thrilled to be home after several weeks in the hospital and rehab. Please continue to pray for them.

5. Odie is doing great. Her vision is still good and we praise God for that. She has a neurologist appointment next week and another eye doctor appointment the end of June. We are looking forward to good reports. She has been relaxing (You should read that as being spoiled completely rotten) at my Dad and Mom's house. We joined them for lunch yesterday at Acapulco and she was looking good!

6. I mentioned some of our schedule in yesterday's post about Goshen Tent Revival but we actually have several meetings in this area. We have Pastor Appreciation and Revival at Dryden Rd June 15-19, Tent Revival in Goshen June 22-27 and Revival in Lebanon, Ohio at Anchor of Hope June 29-July 2. We will also be back in Ohio in August to preach the Homecoming service at Dodds August 17 and to attend Dryden Rd. Indoor Fellowship Meeting August 19-22.

You can access the full schedule HERE or by clicking on the picture of the BoggsMobile on the left side of the blog.

Thanks for reading and God bless you all.

Preparing For Tent Revival In Goshen, Ohio

We are very excited about our next revival under the Blue and White Gospel Tent. We are joining forces with Pastor Dwayne Cornett and the Garden Acres Pentecostal Church in an effort to reach their community for Christ. They have been trying to demonstrate the love of God the last few years to a trailer park near their church. Pastor Cornett has received permission to set the tent up on the property of that trailer park.

So the tent will be going up at Lakeshore Estates at 1785 State Route 28 in Goshen, Ohio. We will be setting up the tent on Saturday June 21st at 8:00 AM. We will probably need extra help so if anybody in the area would like to join in the set up, meet us there at 8:00.

The first service will be Sunday the 22nd at 5:00 PM and then services will begin Monday - Friday at 7:30. What a super great opportunity to reach some folks for Christ that desperately need Him in their lives. I am expecting God to radically and totally change lives under the tent that week. I can hardly wait.

If you are any where in the tri-state area I want to encourage you to come and be a part of these services. I am told that we will be ministering to folks that are bound by all sorts of sins and vices. We know as an extension of that we will be ministering to folks that are hurt and wounded by those bound by sin. What an awesome chance to give some one the message of the Gospel.

With awesome opportunity there will be tremendous spiritual opposition. We need the saints of God there to lift up the name of Christ and bind the reach of the enemy. Please come to worship, pray and rejoice and I know that God will do the rest. If you can not come or you are not from this area please join us in praying for these services from today through the end of the meeting.

We will be at Dryden Rd. this Saturday for our Pastor's Appreciation Dinner. We will have Pastor Appreciation Service Sunday evening if I understand correctly and then revival through Thursday night. We would love to have you join us for those services as well. We are excited to be in revival at our home church for a few nights especially for Pastor Appreciation.

We will close Thursday so I can put the BoggsMobile and tent trailer in position Friday evening in Goshen.

Thanks for reading.

A Quick Trip to Morehead, Kentucky

Sorry about the mix up on Sunday's post. I thought I posted it Sunday morning before we left for Kentucky but OBVIOUSLY I did not. You know what I did? I forgot! I am a lot like those three German Police Dogs Wendy Bagwell used to tell about. If you are not familiar with that story you need to look it up. It is similar to the Mississippi squirrel revival that Ray Stephens sings about.

Anyway, we went to Kentucky Sunday because of a death in the family. My Dad's uncle passed away on Thursday evening and his viewing was Sunday. Kelly Jo and I followed my parents and my brother Steve to Morehead, Kentucky Sunday morning. We stopped for a great meal at Ponderosa in Maysville, Kentucky. We really enjoyed it. That is the second time Dad and I have eaten there and it has been very good both times.

Sunday evening we went to the viewing and visited with family we had not seen in many years. This is Dad's mother's family and I had not seen most of them since she passed away in 1997. We all just fell right into visiting with different family members. Kelly Jo and I visited with  We had a good time talking with him.

The best part of the trip was the meals shared and good times enjoyed with Dad, Mom, Steve and Kelly Jo. I am glad we were close at hand so we could make the trip and make some memories along the way.

The Originals

The uncle that died was James Mays. Although he was Dad's uncle he was 6-7 years younger than Dad. His picture has been on the blog before. Dad and I took a day trip to Kentucky last December and one of the stops was to see Uncle James.

He worked in Dayton, Ohio all his adult life and retired back to a beautiful place in Kentucky. He had worked so hard to build and maintain everything and it was so nice. I am glad that Dad took me by to see him and his farm. We never expected him to be gone in six months. He died suddenly and unexpectedly and it reminds us all that we must be prepared for that day. It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Kelly Jo and I got up early to hit the road back to Ohio. I have another bus project going this week and I have not even posted all about last week's bus project. Once I finish this one I will try to sit down and type it all out.

I needed to stop in Cincinnati and look for a part that I needed. We stopped for gas in northern Kentucky and a guy at the pump next to me had a truck repair T-shirt on so I ask him where to go. He gave me some numbers to call and the first place I stopped had the part. I like it when things work out like that!

It is raining now and is supposed to rain all day so who knows how much I will get done today. One thing I would like to do for sure is drink some salsa down at Acapulco in Lebanon, Ohio. I should be able to do that rain or shine.

God bless you all for reading.
