First Day of 2014

I hope 2014 is off to a good start for you. We have had a great day so far and we are expecting a good service at Westside Holiness Church tonight. It would be wonderful to be wrapped up in the Spirit of the Lord the very first night of the year.

Bro. Marty Millikin's funeral was beautiful yesterday. The singing and the music was outstanding just like Bro. Marty loved singing and music to be. Bro. Jimmy had several of Bro. Marty's family and friends singing and playing songs that Bro. Marty loved to hear. It really was touching all the way through the service.

Bro. Joey Hight, Bro. Jimmy Millikin and Pastor Darrell Meadow were all tremendous in the things they had to say. God used each of them in a special way to minister to the family and friends that had gathered. Bro. Marty lived with such character and Godliness that nobody had to struggle for good things to say. The whole day was a fitting tribute to a very good man that we will all miss very much.

There were hundreds of people that came from all over the country for Bro. Marty's visitation and funeral. There were people from California and people from Maine and there were many from all points in between. Every one of them was a testimony to the impact the Millikin family has had on churches and individuals all over America. I was thrilled to see them all come together to celebrate such a life.

Last night and today we have been visiting with the Millikin's and their family and friends. It has been a joy to meet folks that Bro. Jimmy and Bro. Marty have been telling us about for years. We have really enjoyed meeting some of the folks from Maine. They certainly love the Millikin family.

We plan to stay here in Claremore until Friday or Saturday helping any way we can and then we will mosey toward our next revival near West Plains, Missouri. After that revival we will be right back in this general area for a few weeks by God's grace.

Pastor Meadow asked me to be prepared to preach tonight so please pray that God will speak through me in this service. Every service is very important but this one seems especially so. Thank you.

God bless you every one.

2013 - Our 11th Year in the Rear View Mirror.

The end of 2013 marks our 11th consecutive year on the road, 13 1/2 total years of evangelism and 17 1/2 years of full time ministry. We drove the BoggsMobile 12,515 miles. We preached in at least 20 states and two foreign countries in 2013 and were blessed to see many people find Christ as their Lord.

We have had some great revivals, tent revivals and super great trips to Nigeria, West Africa and to Chiapas, Mexico. We have experienced God working in our physical bodies, our finances and in our spiritual man. He has blessed us with little and he has blessed us with abundance. God has answered some of our prayers with amazing attention to our detailed requests and He has answered some prayers with little resemblance to what we asked at all. Thank God for EVERY answered prayer in 2013

In 2013 we have wept and danced with joy and moaned and sorrowed in sadness. We have had extremely high times and we have had extremely low times. We have soared over adversity and been brought low by events that should have been trivial. We have laughed and cried. But through it all God is still God and He is still in control.

As a family we are kind of glad to bid 2013 goodbye and embrace whatever God has in store for us in 2014. Praise God for His constant care and faithfulness.

Below is a summary of our travels this year with maps to go along with it. Hopefully you can zoom in or zoom out on the maps for a better look.

Travel Day and Home Stuff

Sunday was supposed to be much colder than the beautiful Saturday we had and it definitely lived up to the forecast very well. It was bone chilling cold from the very first time I stepped out of the bus. There is no sense in human beings living in climates this cold! Whew!

Even though the wind blew us to fro we made it to Claremore about 8:45 PM. We stopped for diesel in Joplin and church in Miami and then drove on to Claremore after service. It was a great day even with all of the cold.

We had a wonderful time Sunday night in Miami with the whole Stephens clan. Pastor Mike Stephens has thrown the door open to us and we always enjoy being in service with them. They were kicking off revival tonight and it was good to be a part of it. We have zero pictures between the three of us to prove we were there at all. Maybe we dreamed it.

We do have some pictures from our week at home. We always take my brother Steve and his family to dinner at Christmas time to reward them for taking care of my mail. We enjoyed a great meal and fellowship at J. Alexander's in Dayton. Here are a few pictures from that night.

My Dad and I spent one day last week on a road trip. We went down to Grayson, Kentucky to visit some family. We had a great day together and with some of our cousins.

This is Dad's first cousin George Boggs with his wife Diana.

Lowell, George and Dad. Lowel and George are brothers.

Dad and his younger Uncle James Mays

We have a few pictures from our home church at Dryden Rd.

Of course we had a few meals at Acapulco the few days we were home.

We were also happy to drop in for a few minutes on the 25th anniversary celebration for some old friends. Eric and Charlene have been our friends since we were all kids. That was our last evening home.

Monday evening is the visitation for Bro. Marty Millikin at the Claremore church. Please continue to pray for the Millikin family.
