Revival In Pictures - Livingston, Texas

We have enjoyed a wonderful week with Pastor Don Goodwin, his family and the folks at Beech Creek Assembly. Our first revival here was in October 2013 and we have enjoyed getting to know these kind people here more and more each visit.

Each and every service was really good this week, but Wednesday seemed especially good. I appreciate the people responding in the altar and I loved watching God touch them and bless them. Praise God for His help!

The weather was cool over the weekend, but Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were absolutely beautiful. It was great to be in Texas while the north was in deep freeze mode. We are getting our share now, though. It turned cold Thursday morning.

I hope you enjoy the Revival In Pictures. Thank you for stopping by for a few minutes.

KJo wants you to know what a coat rack looks like in a Texas church. We grew up with coat racks along the whole back wall or a whole room of coat racks.😁😁

Please Laugh Softly

This is another for the "Forgotten at home" file.

When we are on the road, washing the car is a part of the weekly routine, especially if we have traveled 1000 miles between washings. Washing the BoggsMobile, at least the front, is a pretty regular occurrence too.

The front of the bus gets coated with bugs as we bounce down the road and IF it is raining or snowing, the stainless down the sides gets messy in a hurry. The white Jeep gets covered in road grime and oil too.

The oil comes from the small leaks in the bus engine. It does not take much oil to make a mess at 65-70 MPH. We try to wash that mess each week if it is possible.

The Jeep trailed along behind the BoggsMobile for 1043 miles and desperately needed to be washed. First, I needed a pole and a brush. Why? I had neglected to load them in the bus and they are now sitting in the barn. Ugh!

I found an acceptable brush at one store and a nice adjustable pole in another. We were ready to go. We hooked up the hose, pulled the car into position and went to get the sprayer for the end of the hose.

We found no sprayer! What? That is impossible. We own FIVE good sprayers!

We used to buy the $1 sprayers (They are not $1 anymore) from Walmart, but they would only last a month or two.

In 2017, we found these thumb style sprayers.

They are much better built. In fact, the one we bought in 2017 is still in good shape. We like that style so much, that over time we bought one for the hose at Odie's house, one for the hose outside the barn, one for the hose inside the barn and of course one for the bus.

Plus, I saw one on the clearance table at Home Depot over Christmas that looks nicer than the other four we already own and it was only $2 on clearance. Yay!

That makes five really good, well built sprayers and we drove 1000 miles away from home without one of them in the bus, not one! The new one is sitting in a chair right next to where the bus sits in the barn. I set it there so I would not forget it.

Do you know what I did? I forgot! Just like three German police dogs I heard about.

Sooooooo, instead of our nice big brush, we washed the car with this little brush. Not so bad for the Jeep, but way too narrow for the bus.

And rinsed the car the old fashion way.

I suppose we could eventually wash all of the bus with that narrow brush, but we would need awfully good water pressure to spray 12' up with only the hose. Yep, we will be buying a SIXTH sprayer.😁

Maybe we will get this traveling business down to a good routine someday!

Until then, we thank you kindly for laughing softly so as to keep our embarrassment to a minimum.

Have a great day!

A Word For Wednesday, It Is More Blessed To Give Part Three, Delight In Finance

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Today's episode of A Word For Wednesday was recorded early in 2021 and held for this time. This lesson and the two that proceed it are about Christian giving. At the time they were recorded, we were home, sick and not working.

We did not want anyone to think we were working an angle to get people to give to us. So we saved these lessons for now.

We NEVER want anyone to feel we are asking for something or that we think we deserve something from you. We are thankful to be part of God's family and to work in His vineyard. God has been so good to us and we love sharing His message.

The truth of Christian giving and the joy of giving is an amazing truth that everyone needs to know. Jesus is quoted as saying It is more blessed to give than to receive and has been proven to be true over and over!

We hope you enjoy this three-part series and decide to share it with others.

Today I am spending a few moments on the third part of a sermon called, "It Is More Blessed To Give Than To Receive-Living By Giving." Part Two is Delight In Finance.

Thank you for spending a few minutes with us today.

He's Got It All In Control

On February 4, 2021, I posted a video of us singing He's Got It All In Control at Beech Creek Assembly on January 24, seven days before Odie and I tested positive for COVID. We were amazed at the providence of God bringing such reassurance to us only days before we needed that reassurance so badly.

Little did we know what a blessing we had received from the LORD. In the next few days, weeks and months our lives were turned upside down, but God had already spoken peace into our hearts. He's Got It All In Control!

In the next few paragraphs, you can read what I wrote on February 4 about the wonderful service on January 24. Below that, I had added my thoughts today with the benefit of living through the next 10 months and knowing firsthand some of what God has done for our family.

After that, I have embedded the video again. I hope you enjoy.

February 4, 2021
We have posted us singing this song as part of revival services many times, but this one holds a special place in our hearts. Pastor Don Goodwin asked us to sing in the Sunday morning service on January 24 at Beech Creek Assembly and the Lord manifested Himself in the service. Hopefully, it was a special moment to the church, but I know that it was a special moment for our family.

God was speaking right into our souls and we had no idea how much we would need this assurance in our current place in life. This is a live service, warts and all, and it is a little lengthy, but I hope you will give it a chance.

I believe you will be able to sense God encouraging us in a great and might way. By the following Sunday morning, Odie and I were sick. This was our last public worship service before we got sick and we were incredibly and I would say providentially prepared for what was to come.

It is plain to see that many, many people are carrying and facing far tougher things than we are right now, but this is our current trouble. The fact that others have it worse provokes compassion in us, but it does not lessen the weight on our hearts in our own difficulty. There is something that does lessen that weight though. It is this fact, He's Got It All In Control.

The way God spoke to us in this service while we were ministering to others is an incredible testament to God's tender watch care and preplanning for us! Hallelujah!

January 18, 2022
I posted the words above on February 4, 2021. By that evening, fever was raging through my body and I was going down fast. Five days after posting this, I was suffocating and needed supplemental oxygen.

Long story short, we were off the road 203 days and I was on supplemental oxygen for over ten months. When we did go back on the road at the end of August I was as weak as water and I needed God's strength each moment. It was not until the end of October that I felt like I was turning the corner for the good.

YET, I want you to know this more than anything. God walked with us every single step of the way. He was so near us and became more dear to us each moment. For three solid months, I could reach my hand for God above my head and the presence of the Lord would saturate me. He overwhelmed me with His Spirit for over 90 days. Hallelujah!

God provided for us in ways that were as miraculous as God sending bread and flesh twice a day to Elijah! It was absolutely incredible! Please trust me when I say, God proved over and over and over again, He really does have it all in control!

We posted this with the permission of Pastor Don Goodwin and we appreciate them allowing us to do so. Here is the link to a page where you will find this service and many others in their entirety. www.facebook.com/beechcreekag/
