5 Years And Still Thankful

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from my Ohio Beach Cottage. I am happy to be home for a quick visit. We have a busy weekend and week on the books. Check back in the coming days to see our fun with family and friends.

June 1st was the 5th anniversary since I officially moved into my Beach Cottage. Here is a picture from that first night.

It does not feel like it has not been that long. I am so grateful for the beautiful place to call my home! In the last 5 years, so much has happened in the world and in my life. It has been a major blessing to have my own safe place!

The entire home is a series of miracles! I do not want to forget God’s provision! The love and support from my family and friends turned a dream into a reality. My heart still overflows with gratitude!

Many of you reading this post played a role in helping us build my home. Thank you one more time from the bottom of my heart. I thank God for you! I still pray for God to bless you abundantly!

This week marked another 5th house anniversary for me. August 17th, 2018. We were joined by many of the incredible people that help us build my home for house tours and dedication. It was a privilege to show off my finished miracle. We had a sweet dedication on my front porch!

That evening was fantastic. We had friends from near and far come to celebrate with us. Lots of prayers, money, blood, sweat, tears and work brought us to that moment. It was an extraordinary day of memories that still warms my heart!

I encourage you to read this archived blog post here. Dad summed up the wonderful dedication day in an excellent way. Below is just a sampling of photos from that night that are special to me.

I will never forget the love I experienced that day! I am blessed beyond measure! I just wanted to pause for a moment to thank God for His unspeakable gift of my beautiful home!

Thank you for joining me as I stroll down memory lane. Here is a small tour of the front portion of my home. This was recorded during our 2020 online covid revival.

See you next week.

Schedule Change and Bro. Shobanke

Schedule Change
We have had a change in our schedule concerning the near future. We never know when someone is planning to visit us, so I need to let you know.

Over the weekend we received bad news that shook us. Pastor Ben Shoemaker called to tell us they had an accident at the church in Thomasville, Alabama that included an electrical fire and one of the men getting burned.

I did not ask for permission to give his name so I will not at this time. One of the church men spent several days in the hospital for burns and faces a long recovery. We are praying that he heals completely without longterm difficulties.

Although the brother that was injured, heroically put out the fire and called for help, the power is off at the church and the building has a lot of smoke damage. They had recently finished a remodel of the sanctuary so it is a double blow.

We were scheduled to begin revival for Bro. Shoemaker two weeks from this coming Sunday and of course, that is understandably not possible at this time. Pastor Shoemaker was concerned about us losing a revival and I appreciate that, but canceling was the right thing to do.

The last thing they need at this time is the pressure of a visiting preacher coming to town in two weeks. They will have enough on their plate as it is. Please pray for Ben, Deidre and the church in Thomasville, Alabama.

Update On Bro. Shobanke
Bro. Shobanke came through surgery on his neck and he is recovering well. He was released this week to his son's house in the Dayton area and we were able to see him yesterday evening on our way to church last night.

I can not describe how thrilled I was to see my friend again and pray with him.

I had talked to him in the hospital on the phone and I could hear that he was a little stronger, but I was comforted to see him face to face. Bro. Shobanke has a long way to go and I would love if you would pray for my dear friend. He is weak and unable to do things he needs to do.

He is scheduled to return to Nigeria soon and his son, Emmanuel, is planning to accompany him home. That is a huge blessing.

Thank you. I think that brings us up to date.

Travelogue With Pictures - Vermont to Ohio

The shortest way from Lowell, Vermont to Waynesville Ohio is unpassable in the BoggsMobile. There is no way to do it. The shortest possible route is about 880 miles and we have drove it 2-3 times. It is completely passable road, but it is about 160 miles and 4.5 hours to the interstate in the bus.

It is about 13 miles to I-91. If I go that route it is 100 miles further, but I can go 270 miles in the same time frame if I average 60 MPH on the interstate. That is what I decided to do.

We left the Lowell Bible Church Monday morning.

I told you it was a little steep going in. It is also steep going back out. 12% grade. Wow!

Rain and construction. What a great combination.

As we were making our way toward Albany, NY, the traffic, toll roads and weather conditions convinced me to add 25-30 mile and turn south on I-87 and take I-84 and I-80 across Pennsylvania.

We stopped the first night at a travel center near New Baltimore, NY. We drove in the rain much of the day for a total of 299 miles Monday.

We could not get the generator to cooperate and we are not allowed to idle the bus in New York, so we spent a hot night trying to sleep. Ugh! Does that sound like a complaint? Yeah, I guess I am complaining.😜

The BoggsMobile was running by 6:05 AM Tuesday and we rolled  206 miles to a rest area in Pennsylvania. KJo prepared some of the brisket that I told you about, along with some eggs for breakfast. After a bit of rest, we finished the day at Love's in Brookville, PA.

It was along day at 374 miles and 8+ hours including a little resting time.

Love's has a few travel stops across the country with RV hookups and this was one of them. We paid for a spot and enjoyed the wonderful cool air conditioner of the bus all night long. We actually considered staying a second night, but I slept so well I was ready to go Wednesday morning.

It had been 1000+ miles since we had fueled the bus in New Hampshire so we filled up at Love's before we left Wednesday. We took on 163+ gallons and we were ready to roll for quite a while.

The weather was perfect for traveling. We only stopped once for a 15 minute break after 162 miles. We did see an interesting sight along the way.

Traffic was good around Akron and Columbus and we sailed into home and parked next to the barn after 337 miles.

It is great to be home for the weekend. Thank you for stopping in.

A Word For Wednesday- Why It Is Important What We Believe About Christ

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Wordless For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Wordless for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

My dear friends, it is important for us to know Christ and to believe that He is the son of the Living God, God in the flesh, God with us. To believe that He is created is to believe heresy. A mere man, no matter how good, could not redeem humanity. He purchased us with his sinless sacrifice on Calvary

According to scripture, the son of God who made the world laid aside the glory of Heaven, took upon himself human flesh, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, bore the sins of the whole world on the cross and rose victorious over death, hell and the grave.

We are warned in scripture that satan would try to pollute the Gospel and destroy the message. He has had much success in his pursuit. Many religions declare that Jesus was only a man created by God. Some Christian groups today declare the same thing.

But Christianity has always believed with Peter that Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God, God in the flesh, God with us! That is why it is important what we believe about Christ!

Thank you for tuning in.

Revival In Pictures - Lowell, Vermont

Today is time for Revival In Pictures from our time of revival with Pastor David DiZazzo and the Lowell Bible Church in Lowell, Vermont. I gave a better description of the weekend of revival yesterday. You can follow the link to read about it but today you get to see the pictures with your eyes.

We had a wonderful time of fellowship and revival and we will be rejoicing in the memories for a very long time to come. The pictures will help us to relive every moment as much as possible. Praise God for coming near us in each service!

Thank you for stopping by today. Please make plans to join us tomorrow for a special Word For Wednesday.

Bro. Mike the cook/Elder prepared the meet for the dinner Sunday. He saved a whole pan of brisket for me. I am making good use of it, I promise!😊
