Weekend Woundup and Weview 1/29/16

After service at Beams of Light Wednesday night we remained parked at the church Thursday and Friday. There are very few places, relative to the many churches where we have parked, that we feel comfortable staying over. Beams of Light is one of them. It is a really good and comfortable place to park.

I woke up before daylight Thursday and the very first thought that crossed my mind was this. "What should I preach tonight?" Then it occurred to me that I did not even know where I was preaching revival. I probably searched my mind for a full 30 seconds before I remembered where we were parked.

Once I realized we were parked at Beams of Light and I was not preaching that night, I was wide awake and knew I could not go back to sleep. Sleep was good while it lasted.😏

Kelly and Odie did laundry Thursday while I worked on sound equipment. Later Odie visited with Shavona Deane and looked at some of the awesome pictures she has taken. Odie is going to use a few of her pictures in the wall decoration scheme in the house we are building for her.

We posted pictures on Thursday from our Wednesday night service at Beams of Light. We do have a couple of pictures from Thursday during the day.

Shavona and Odie

Kelly Jo prepared chicken thighs for supper on Thursday. We purchased these and a "few" more while we were in Pine Prairie, Louisiana a few weeks ago. Wow! They were so good as usual!

Friday we drove two hours to Opp, Alabama to hear the Isaacs. It was a wonderful night. I am quite sure Odie will tell you more about it later.

If you are keeping score, yes, we saw the Isaacs twice in five days. That is very unusual for us and a very nice turn of events.

We left Cantonment Saturday morning and drove about an hour and forty minutes to Bibleway Assembly near Foley, Alabama. As we were getting near the church we had a Green Machine sighting. It was almost invisible among the bushes and trees.

Three times in a week or so friends around the country sent us pictures of a Green Machine in their town and asked us if we were any where near them. The sightings were in Claremore, Oklahoma, near Handford, California and Hodgenville, Kentucky. Now we have seen ourselves in Foley, Alabama.

We rolled into the church, unloaded the sound equipment and then parked the BoggsMobile. Associate Pastor Corey Brown helped us hook up and then helped us set up the sound.

I spent the rest of the afternoon preparing for the annual board meeting of Boggs Family Ministries. I had all the figures together but I never feel prepared so I went over everything again. Bro. Kurt McCrorey and Bro. John Eaton have been on the board since we formed Boggs Family Ministries 10 years ago and they are very faithful. When the conference call was completed, I had been refreshed by my brothers.

Sunday morning we began revival at Bibleway Assembly for Pastor Eddy Sullivan and his great folks. This is our second revival here and we are glad to be back. God gave us a great Sunday and I expect to have more of the same all week long.

Here are a few pictures from Sunday.

Singing Happy Birthday to Bro. Cory and Sis. Kirsten Brown.

Somehow we ended up with a picture of Bro. Cory's cake and missed Sis. Kirsten's!

That wraps up our weekend. I hope you had a great one too. Thanks for reading today.

Our View Out The Front Window January 28, 2018

A couple of hours after I posted last week's View Out the Window, I went down to the lobby of the hotel for a little of breakfast. As I was going back to the room I ran into Jim, the Isaacs' driver. They were parked in the parking lot right below our window.

This was our view out the window.

Here was our view Monday night out the window at the hotel in Runnelstown, Mississippi.

I neglected to take a picture of our view out the front window while we were parked this week at Beams of Light near Cantonment, Florida. I thought about it several times but flubbed it. That put me to digging for this picture.

This was our view of Odie at Beams of Light in 2013. She came to church that night with a jean skirt draped over the back of her wheel chair. We never did get the facts in that case. We sure had a great time laughing though. I thought you might enjoy the view.

This is our view out the front window this week near Foley, Alabama.

Here are the links to our posts from the last week. Please take a moment to check them out.

Thanks for checking in today. I hope you have a great Sunday.

The Isaacs In Haughton, Lousianna 2018

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in today. I hope your weekend is off to a good start. You can see in the Weekend Woundup post from Monday, that we had a great weekend last week. My weekend was capped off with an Isaacs concert.

We visited Haughton, Lousiana to see the Isaacs in 2015. We greatly enjoyed our visit to Central Assembly with the Isaacs. We were thrilled when our unexpected schedule change lined up with their stop in Haughton, Lousiana this year.

We arrived at the church Sunday afternoon. It was wonderful to see the Isaacs again. I love getting a chance to visit with them and getting a pre-concert during their soundcheck.

The service was scheduled to begin at 6 PM. Even before go time the church was full of people anticipating a fabulous evening. It definitely was a super fantastic night of singing and music. I laughed, cried and smiled almost the entire time the Isaacs sang and played.

It is always hard to pick a favorite part of the night!  The Isaacs are truly awesome!!  I am always left speechless by their talent! I am so glad we could be with them Sunday night. It was the perfect end to the weekend.

Now without further rambling, here are my pictures from the concert. I hope you enjoy!

Thank you for dropping by today. It is our pleasure and joy to have you visit our Mile Markers.

Until next time this is Odie signing off.

Changes to Mile Markers Now and In The Near Future

I wrote about some of this last year but I want to go through it again on my way to an announcement of a small change that is coming.

Bro. David Johnston built our original website at davykellyandodie.com many years ago. It served us well for years and gave us a place to post pictures and news from our family and ministry. Some of you have been with us since the beginning of that site.

One of the features of that website was called Mile Markers. We posted news of what was going on but we posted on a very irregular basis. It was a complicated process for me and we rarely had good internet signal back then.

In November 2009 we began this site on Blogger. We were leaving for our second trip to Nigeria and I was looking for a way to post pictures in real time for folks back home. While searching the internet, I ran across Blogger and within hours, I was set up and ready to go.

The experiment with this site from Nigeria sealed the deal. It was very easy to add pictures and to stay in touch with everyone. We soon moved our Mile Marker updates here and began posting all our pictures here as well.

The original site became a static site with information but rarely any updates since all of the updates are posted here. We started getting hacked there on a regular basis and the hacks kept Bro. Johnston busy. He made some changes and the hacks have been kept at bay.

We knew this day was coming for a long time, but we will soon point that address toward this site. davykellyandodie.com will bring you to the same place as boggsblogs.com. I do not know exactly when the change will be finalized but it is in the works now.

I did not want you to lose access to our schedule and our Google calendar was on the original website. I could never figure out how to post it here. This week, I figured it out and that change is complete.

You can access our schedule from the desktop view of Mile Markers by clicking one of two places. I have circled both in the pictures below. You can click the picture of the BoggsMobile or the word "Schedule" on the tab across the top.

Those links use to eventually lead you to davykellyandodie.com but no they lead you to a page on this site with our Google calendar embedded.

You can scroll down to see the whole month. You can also navigate the months and see it in a weekly, monthly or agenda view. The default view is monthly.

Nearly half of you view our blog from an iPhone or other mobile device. (48% if our numbers are correct.) If you are viewing our blog on a mobile platform it looks similar to the picture below.

If you click on the tab I have marked with a red circle, a fold down menu will appear and you click on "Schedule".

That will bring up the schedule page. You may have to scroll down and over to see the whole month depending on the screen size on your mobile device.

I am glad to make that change. It puts us one step closer to bringing the two sites together. There is one drawback. Through the years of posting here, I have linked to the schedule in many posts. Once the old address points to this site, those links will probably be dead. I do not see a way to go back through every post and change that link.

This is what I have decided to do. If there is a post that gets a lot of traffic and it has a dead link, I will repair it. Otherwise I, or anyone else, may never see those dead links again.😀

That is all for today. Thanks for dropping by to sit a spell. Have a great weekend!
