Vintage View Vednesday Pine Prairie 2009

Yesterday's short post went up late due to no cell phone signal. If you missed it, you can read it HERE.

I appreciate the response from the older pictures we have been posting. I thought that pictures like the ones I posted last week may only be of interest to our family. But you have let me know you enjoy seeing them and several of you enjoyed the information about Steve's Sony Digital Mavica. That is great.

I am here to please, so here is another set of vintage pictures.

In our archives I had a ton of pictures from a visit to Pine Prairie, Louisiana back in January of 2009. Since we were there only two weeks ago and posted a bunch of pictures, I thought it would be interesting to see some of the people nine years ago. You can see those recent pictures HERE and HERE.

There were visitors from all over at the Homecoming meeting that year and we had a bunch of fun. There are several pictures of us in the old church singing and acting goofy. We had a blast and the pictures bring the memories rushing back.

I hope you enjoy.

No Cell Signal

We had a great visit at First Assembly near Richton, Mississippi on Monday night. We loved being with our friends and enjoyed the service. We did not have cell signal at the hotel Monday night or early Tuesday morning when I would have posted. By the time a little signal appeared we were preparing to hit the road on the way back to the BoggsMobile.

I will have pictures from Monday night at Richton later in the week. Tomorrow will be Vintage View Vensday so the Richton pictures will probably show up Thursday. Here is one as a little preview.

Thanks for checking in.

Weekend Woundup and Weview 1/22/2018

This weekend has gone a different direction than planned but it was a terrific weekend. There is nothing to do with an unexpected change except to roll with it and we definitely rolled with this one.

Friday night was the final night of revival at Forts Lake Assembly with Pastor Tim Cauley. We really had a good service and we loved they way they all responded to the preaching. Here are a few pictures.

Pastor Tim Cauley was very quick to make us welcome to remain parked at Forts Lake this week if necessary. We appreciate that very much. It definitely gave us some flexibility in planning.

Sis. Ruth and Pastor Tim Cauley

Since the Cedar Creek revival had to be canceled because of flu, we needed to know what direction we were supposed to be going. We found ourselves Saturday evening driving the Green Machine toward Shreveport, Louisiana. We stayed in a hotel and preached for Pastor Stacy Holden Sunday morning.

This was our first visit to Lighthouse Holiness Tabernacle in Greenwood, Louisiana. We have known the Holdens for many years and we have been blessed by their ministry. It was nice to be in church with them Sunday morning.

Sis. Holden prepared a great Sunday lunch for us too. It was wonderful!

We had been to Central Assembly in Haughton, Louisiana once before. We were there on a Sunday night in January of 2015. We were happy to be back there last night to hear the Isaacs sing. I will let Odie tell you more about it and post a bunch more pictures on Saturday but it was tremendous as usual. How do they do it?

We had a great visit with family and made some new friends too. It was a great night. Well, it was a great weekend over all. We stayed in the same hotel room Sunday night and we plan to roll our little Green Machine wheels this morning.

Thanks for checking in with us today.

Our View Out The Front Window January 21, 1028

Our view is a little different than expected. We had planned to be looking out our front window this week at the beautiful scenery surrounding the Cedar Creek Church near Citronelle, Alabama. As you may have seen, that revival had to be canceled due to a flu outbreak.

The cancellation is a disappointment for us to be sure. However, it is only a minor inconvenience for us compared to the members of the Cedar Creek church family that are suffering with this horrible flu. We are praying that God will give them quick recovery and stop the spread of the flu among them.

This Sunday morning finds us in a hotel near Shreveport, Louisiana. Pastor Stacy Holden asked us last week to please come to preach for him when we had a Sunday open. We had no idea it would be this soon, but here we are!

This is our view out the front door.

Here are the links to our posts from the last week. Please take a moment to check them out.

Thanks for checking in today. I hope you have a great Sunday.

Chronological Bible Reading Plan

Our revival that was scheduled to begin tomorrow at Cedar Creek near Citronelle, Alabama has been canceled due to a widespread flu outbreak, including Pastor Darius Templeton. We are sad to miss Cedar Creek this time around, but there is not much you can do about the flu raging through. I pray they all get well quickly.

Odie's Saturday Evening Post

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in from Alabama. As you read at the top of this post, the revival at Cedar Creek this next week has been canceled. We have some plans in process right now and we will let you know if we are going to be preaching some where else.

I really look forward to a fresh start every January. I like a new start with my Bible reading. A couple of tools that I love using on my Apple devices are Blue Letter Bible and Holy Bible (King James Version) by Pal Reader.

These are both great apps and easy to use. I like the fact that once they are downloaded, cellular data and WiFi are not required to use them. Click this link for the Free Blue Letter Bible.

Click here for The Holy Bible. The Holy Bible app is under $5. The highlight of this app is that it has Alexander Scourby reading the complete Bible. Dad first wrote about this application here a couple years ago.

I decided this year to read the Bible in chronological order. I am following the plan on Blue Letter Bible and it is supposed to put the recorded events in the Bible in the order that they actually occurred. I am enjoying this method a lot. It really has been a nice change for me.

I like being able to keep track of my progress on the Blue Letter daily reading calendar. You can find the Blue Letter Chronological plan online here.

I love reading along while listening to Alexander Scourby in Holy Bible app.

Several years ago for Christmas I bought Dad a hardback Chronological Bible. He wrote about that Bible here, in this post. I know he enjoyed reading through the bible with it.

That is what I am reading right now. Have you ever read the Bible in chronological order? Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend.
