Dryden Rd. 60th Year Celebration in Pictures

We have been pretty tied up with revival, the house stuff and preparation for Music and Ministry Month at HPC. Revival has been very good and we are thankful we were able to schedule the week at home.

Bro. Bill Houston, Pastor Dallas Lakes, Pastor Larry Daugherty and Pastor Darrell Meadow have preached great! I do not think the line up could have been any better.

Each night we also heard several special things from the history of the church. Two nights they played old snippets of the Dryden Road Church radio broadcast from 50+ years ago. That was really neat.

Pastor Bennie Sutherland is preaching tonight and I hate we have to leave. We begin tomorrow morning at HPC and we need to be in place tonight. We are excited about that.

Odie snapped a bunch of pictures and I am posting them below. I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for stopping by today and thanks to all that let us know they missed a new post yesterday.

The Fun Has Begun!

The Fun Has Begun! As most of you know, we have started the dirt work this week on the house we are building for Odie to live in. Bro. David Butler worked diligently Monday and Tuesday and we are seeing the progress.

As I write this Wednesday morning, the footer is dug and the rebar is in the ditch. Once he has the rebar properly in place, it should be ready for inspection and concrete! With a good inspection and good weather, we should have a footer by later today.

Odie and I have been taking a bunch of pictures and we will post them on a later post. My Dad has helped both days and others have dropped in to offer moral and physical support. We will try to have a full report on that as well.

Today I have pictures from the "Official" ground breaking. You know that we can not have a Bobcat or Track Hoe take out the first scoop so we saved that job for Odie.

They were scheduled to begin early Monday so Sunday evening on our way to church, Odie worked just a little bit.

Here she is below with the first shovel full of dirt. It was a small shovel but it was full!

Then we all got in on the act.

David Butler and his helper took it from there and in two shakes of a lamb's tale it will be finished! Maybe we will look back and wonder how it was finished so quickly. I sure hope so!

Revival at Dryden Rd. was really good again Tuesday night. We had a spontaneous alter service before the preaching and then Bro. Dallas Lakes preached outstanding. I am looking forward to service again tonight.

Thanks for reading today.

Pictures From Easter Sunday and More

We have some pictures from our exciting Easter Sunday below. First let me tell you about a little snippet of the excitement Monday.

Although we have been working on the house for months, Monday April 17, 2017 was the official start day of construction. David Butler removed the sod from where the house will go and had several loads of gravel hauled into place in preparation for digging the footer today.

We also purchased the rebar and moved a bunch of dirt into place. Today will be an exciting day as well and we will have pictures of it all on a later day.

Sunday's post had our traditional Easter poem so I omitted the Veiw Out The Front Window Sunday post. I know that my sister Theresa loves those exciting posts so I have included those pictures and links from last week's post at the bottom of the page.

I think I mentioned yesterday that we had four people saved Sunday at Dryden Rd. It was awesome! I love watching people give their lives to the Lord. Praise God for His help!

Now for the pictures from Easter Sunday. We will begin with a picture of my beautiful girls!

The very first service at Dryden Rd. was on Easter Sunday 1957. This week is the 60th year celebration and Bro. Bennie gave a little history of the church. The original building was 50x96. It was a large sanctuary built on a full basement of 12 Sunday School rooms. Bro. Bennie read that it cost less than $42,000 to build!

Then they unveiled the 60th Anniversary plaque.

Sunday night

Monday night we had a great night of revival. Bro. Bill Houston preached on Revival. It was great to hear!

Odie snapped a few pictures from the service Monday night.

Here are links to our posts from the last week.

Here was our view out the front window when we arrived home Saturday morning.

This was our view as we parked in the barn Saturday afternoon.

Thanks for stopping in today.
