33 Years and Counting

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Oklahoma. We began our week on Sunday by wrapping up revival at Victory Tabernacle Holiness Church in Watauga, Texas. Both services on Sunday were really special. I do not know how to describe how precious it was to feel the sweet presence of God. It was definitely a great way to start the week.

Currently the BoggsMobile is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We are here for fellowship meeting at Mt. Vernon Holiness Church. It is so good to be here with our dear friends. Pastor Rickey Searcy and the congregation here have stood by us and encouraged us for years! I am so grateful for their friendship and loyalty.

Tomorrow the calendar page is turning for me to a new year. I have been blessed with 33 years of life. From the beginning of my life in 1985 God has stood by me. I should have not survived my traumatic entrance into this world, but God had a different plan. I am living proof that the Lord hears and answers prayers, Thank you Jesus!

Who knows what this new year will bring for me? I am grateful that God is in control of my story. I am excited to see what He has planned for the next 365 days.

A couple years ago I compiled a list of where I had spent all my birthdays. I enjoy going down memory lane. Today I am updating that list.

October 14, 1985, I was born in Dayton, Ohio at Miami Valley Hospital. Thankfully I do not remember that rough day. It was on a Monday night, Columbus Day and the day after the Sauerkraut Festival in our hometown of Waynesville, Ohio. That is why I say I have sauerkraut flowing through my veins.

1-5 Ohio.
I know I had birthday parties for each of those birthdays. The first one I actually remember was my third birthday party. We were supposed to be in revival in Texas for my 5th birthday but our car broke down. Revival was delayed a few days and I spent my birthday in Ohio.

6 Dundee, Florida.
I had a birthday party with the school kids from a church in Dundee, Florida at the park.

7 California
We spent the day touring San Francisco and we had a small party in our hotel room with Pastor Rickey Searcy and family. Yep the same Rickey Searcy we are preaching for this week.

8-13 Ohio
We lived in three different towns in Ohio during this time frame. I had two birthdays in each house and I have listed those places below. I have many great memories from my birthdays and parties at home.

8-9 I had these birthdays in Franklin, Ohio on Second Street.

10-11 I celebrated these birthdays in Miamisburg, Ohio on Nicholson Road.
My parents always had birthday parties for me until my 11th birthday. We the 11th celebrated at J Alexanders restaurant and I was allowed to choose a friend to go with us. We were joined by my friend and cousin Rebecca "Lakes" James and my grandparents for that special dinner.

12-13 these years were celebrated in West Carrollton, Ohio on Glenada Ct. For my 13th birthday we had a big birthday bash with family.

14 Ohio
We lived in Kansas but we were in revival in Ohio on my birthday. I remember that my birthday dinner was at Olive Garden.

15-16 Kansas
For my 15th birthday I remember that we had company visiting from Ohio.

My 16th birthday was October 14, 2001, my Pastor, Bro. Bennie Sutherland had been preaching the Mt. Vernon Fellowship Meeting the weekend of my birthday in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He came to Wichita Kansas and preached the Sunday night of my birthday at our church.

After church my parents had a surprise party for me with the whole church and even the Searcy's from Oklahoma City at Godfather's Pizza! It was a special day that I will never forget.

17 Texas
We were living in Kansas, but on my birthday we were traveling to preach revival in El Mirage, Arizona. We stopped and ate my birthday dinner in Amarillo, Texas. That was my first visit to The Big Texan.

18 Missouri
We were in revival for Bro. Dwayne Watson in Joplin, Missouri. Dad and Mom had to spend the whole day working on problems with our old fifth wheel trailer. Little did I know after church they had planned a surprise party with a bunch of my friends from Missouri and Kansas at Wendy's. I have a funny memory from that night. My birthday cake had blue icing and the majority of us ended up having blue teeth after eating birthday cake. I have pictures to prove it.

19 Ohio
I was home in Ohio spending the weekend with my family and going to the Sauerkraut Festival. That is the last time I was home for the festival.

20 Georgia
We were near Atlanta, Georgia in revival. I had a superb birthday lunch at Ruth's Chris steakhouse. It was so good that I still remember it to this day. Then Dad took me shopping!! It was a wonderful day.

21 Texas
We were in revival in Gainesville, Texas for this one.

22 North Carolina
We were in revival at Paw Creek in Charlotte, North Carolina.

23 Tennessee
We were in revival at Beechfork for Bro. Herman Woods in Tennessee.

24 Oklahoma
We were in Sand Springs, Oklahoma in revival for Bro. Darrell Toliver.

25 California
We were in Riverdale, California preparing to record our live album "Havin' Church" the next day.

26 Tennessee
We were in Tennessee in revival Beechfork Holiness Church.

27 Louisiana
We were in revival in Pine Prairie, Louisiana.

28 Texas
We were in revival in Sweeney Texas.

29 California
We were in revival in Bloomington, California.

30 Alabama
The Blue And White Tent was up in Millry, Alabama. My parents surprised me with a cake and videos from friends and family wishing me a Happy Birthday.

31 North Carolina
We were having City Reach under the tent in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

32 Missouri
We are in revival in West Plains, Missouri at Junction Hill Pentecostal Church. The entire Galiher family made my birthday special! My awesome friend Brentni Hrapeck surprised me by showing up at church that night.

33 Oklahoma
We are in fellowship meeting at Mt. Vernon Holiness Church. It is great to be surrounded by wonderful friends in Oklahoma City on my birthday.

Thanks for stopping by to visit with me! Many of you have been a part of my life’s journey. I am thankful to have you as family and friends.

Also Happy 51st wedding anniversary to my Gran and Papaw, Danny and Betty Morgan! I love you so much!

First Night at Mt. Vernon

Tonight was the first night of Fellowship Meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at Mt. Vernon Holiness Church. This year they are celebrating 70 years as a church in 2018 and it is nice to be here and be a part of that. It is kind of important that you know we have not been coming here all 70 years. 😀

Thursday began at Walmart in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. I had planned to get an early start, but the RV Park we were headed to had no place until check out time at noon. I stayed busy working while the girls rested and we hooked the Green Machine to the BoggsMobile and pulled out about 10:45 and headed north on I-35.

It finally feels like fall has arrived. It was cool enough for a little heat in the morning. It was a gorgeous, cool, beautiful day. I love driving on these types of days.

After arriving at Roadrunner RV Park in Oklahoma City and checking in, the first order of business was doing the work of an evangelist. Since the weather was nice and I had a few minutes to spare, I rinsed both tanks several times. It will probably get colder from here so that may be the last time I get to do that for a while.

After putting everything away and washing my hands about 10 times, I was ready for lunch. Wow!

Then Kelly Jo and I loaded sound equipment in the Green Machine and drove a couple of miles to Mt. Vernon Church and set it up. After sound check we had just enough time to get cleaned up for church, rest a very few minutes and then it was time to get the ball rolling toward church.

It was a great first night of Fellowship Meeting. We have a long history with Pastor Rickey Searcy and all of  these great friends and it was pretty comfortable settling back in with them. We loved last night and I know we are going to enjoy the whole weekend.

Odie snapped a few pictures last night.

We have service Friday and Saturday night at 7:15 and service Saturday morning and Sunday morning at 10:30. If you are any where near here, we would love have you join us.

Thank you for stopping in to visit a while today.

Never A Dull Moment

Thank you for the texts, emails and comments in response to yesterday's post. Odie requires very little to make her happy and your words sure helped to do it!

We have packed a bunch of action in the last two days. There is never a dull moment on the BoggsMobile.

I ended the weekend post that I put up Tuesday with a picture of the tacos Kelly Jo made for supper Monday. I looked at those a moment ago and they flung another craving on me. That girl can make some seriously killer tacos!

What I did not mention Tuesday morning was that we were having electrical problems.

As we were going to bed, we noticed one side of the electric was acting crazy. I did not know if it was the bus or the power from the church. It was raining and I got soaked trying to sort it out. I finally turned the generator on and everything evened out. I went to bed.

It rained cats and dogs most of Tuesday so I let the electrical situation simmer on my brain and the collective bus brain around the country.

While that was going on, we still had to eat. We met Pastor Dennis King, Sis. Judy King, Nathan and Quinton for lunch at Nue Ranch in Gainesville. We really like their little lunch buffet and it did not disappoint. We had a wonderful time visiting with our dear friends too.

When the rain quit about 5:00 PM Tuesday I investigated the electrical problem. The breaker inside the church was fine. Outside one side of the 50 amp receptacle was a solid 120 volts. The other side went from 120 volts to 0 volts to 40 volts to 120 volts to 60 volts to 120 volts. I thought the wire might be loose.

I removed the 50 amp receptacle and it literally fell apart in my hands!

Evidently one of the connections had worked loose over the years and a loose electrical connection gets hot. This one had been very hot!

After supper we went to Home Depot to fetch the parts and this is what we ended up with.

It worked like a charm.

We had plans Tuesday evening to meet our niece Deidre and her husband Ben for supper at Chili's in Gainesville. They are working in a church in Sherman about 40 miles away. We loved getting to see them and to spend some time with them. It was nice of them to make the drive over. We love you both!

Wednesday we cranked the BoggsMobile and continued our journey northward toward OKC.

We made a stop before we left Gainesville at the Quick Trip truck stop. I was no where near empty, but diesel was going up 35 cents a gallon in Oklahoma. Might as well save nearly $40.

Notice the sign on top of the diesel pump. You get a Free Glazed Donut With The Purchase of Any 12oz. Red Bull. Yep, a cup of sugar fried into a circle is exactly what you need with that Red Bull, mister!😀

We stopped our journey in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to eat lunch and visit with dear friends, Larry and Rose Landress, Bruce and Priscilla Mayhan, Jeffery and Rebecca Blankenship and their sweet girls. It was nice that all of them put their busy lives on hold to meet us for a while. We love each and every one of you.

Later we made a last minute decision to go to revival with Bruce and Priscilla at their home church in Pauls Valley. We had a good time and saw a lot of folks we have not seen in a long time. It was a great ending to a great day.

This morning we will finish the drive to Oklahoma City and begin Fellowship Meeting tonight at Mt. Vernon Holiness Church. We are looking forward to the whole weekend!

Thank you for joining us for the ride today.
