Amber, Oklahoma - Revival In Pictures

Yesterday I gave you a report on Tent Revival in Amber, Oklahoma. We had another great service last night and a wonderful crowd. Today we have a big bunch of pictures for our Revival In Pictures post.

It has been great to have several of our friends visit from the churches nearby. I mentioned yesterday that we have spent a lot of time in this region of Oklahoma through the years. Those times have not been wasted. We were not only blessed with good revivals, but we were doubly blessed with an abundance of good friends.

Praise God for every one of those friends. We love being back in this area so that we can see them again.

Most of these pictures came from Odie's phone. She captured pictures during the services and some great pictures of visitors. We sure have enjoyed the revival. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

We always appreciate you dropping in. Fetch a cup of coffee and take your time looking at the pictures. You may see someone you know.

I Love Revival!

I love revival. I love it wherever I find it and in whatever doses I can get it. I especially love revival under the tent and I love it even better when lives are being changed and touched. That is going on this week!

We will probably have a Revival In Pictures post tomorrow. Today I want to give you a report on the tent revival so far in Amber, Oklahoma. God is meeting with us in these services. Not one service has been a dud. I always love revival under the Blue and White Gospel Tent, but this revival seems to be especially good.

What makes the difference? God has to be involved, we know that, right? If God is not involved we are wasting out time and spinning our wheels. Revival must be part of a sovereign move of God.

However, I believe revival in these last days is the will of God. I believe God is ready to move on and through and among His people without a moments notice. I am of the firm opinion that we are not waiting on God to send revival, but that God is waiting on us to desire revival enough to prepare for it.

The folks at Amber Mission Holiness Church, under the direction of Pastor Russel Cheek, have done their dead level best to prepare for revival. They are seeking God. They are sanctifying themselves. They are reaching out to the community.

God honors that. God brings healing, deliverance, salvation, victory, peace, joy and a thousand other good things to people when they desire Him to do so. I love it and I am seeing it happen this week right before my very eyes.

We enjoy walking right smack dab into the middle of a revival atmosphere. It is good, good, good to breathe the fresh air of revival this week.

Another good thing is this. Tent Revival is not over yet! We have two more nights and I can not wait to see what God is going to do next. I know this much. It is going to be good.

Thanks for reading today.

Vintage View Vednesday Mt. Vernon 2008

Since we are in Oklahoma for a couple of weeks, I figured it would be nice to scour the archives for a few Oklahoma pictures to make up a Vintage View Vednesday post. That should not be too difficult since it seems we spent years here in the past. That is a good thing. These dear Okies have been good to us.

Our first revival as full time evangelists in 1990 was in Oklahoma. It was for Pastor Kevin Clounch at a church called Oakhurst. When we left Wichita and went back on the road in January 2003 our first revival was scheduled to begin on a Wednesday night in Weir, Kansas.

The schedule was interrupted before we ever got started. Pastor Rickey Searcy called to have me fill in until his evangelist could get there. So our first revival as evangelists in 2003 was at Mt. Vernon Holiness Church in Oklahoma City. We preached the Sunday and Monday nights until the scheduled preacher could get there. We have been on the road ever since.

Mt. Vernon  is old stomping grounds for us. We have been preaching there since the fall of 1991. I wish I had some digital pictures from those early revivals. I did run across a few pictures from revival in January 2008. I am sure we have many more. We have had some great times there.

This our Vintage View Vednesday Mt. Vernon January 2008. I hope you enjoy. Thank you for reading.
