London Christian Academy Graduation

Friday night was the graduation at London Christian Academy. It was a beautiful night celebrating the school and its graduates. We were honored to be a part of the 49th commencement at LCA.

There were kindergarten graduates, eighth grade graduates and nine high school graduates. All of the high school graduates gave either a speech, prayed or sang during the program.

The house was pretty much full and it was a joy to behold the families and friends gathered to support the students and school.

Odie captured some great pictures of the night and we have them for you below. Thank you for stopping in.

The Weekend Dispatch May 13

We had a beautiful weekend in London,Kentucky. We drove down Friday for the graduation that evening. It was a beautiful program and Odie took a lot of great pictures of that. I will try to post them tomorrow.

Saturday we were free to rest and that’s exactly what I did. While the girls are resting in the morning, I walked outside in the brisk air. It was cool, but it was a beautiful day.

While I was preparing sermons for Sunday, Kelly and Odie spent a few hours shopping in London and Corbin. that is the first time they have done that since before Christmas.

Sunday we enjoyed two wonderful services with our friends at London First Pentecostal Church. Pastor Vernon Jarvis invited us to speak at the graduation Friday and preach both services Sunday. We enjoyed our time here with our friends very much.

Thank you for joining us today. We will be on the road back toward Ohio at some point today.

Sunday Morning Sanity For Mothers

Dear Mothers, do not despair. You have power with God.

The young man of Nain that was raised from the dead received a great miracle. But I submit to you he was not the principal recipient of that miracle.

Luke 7:15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

Jesus beheld the mother weeping, had compassion on her and raised the young man for her benefit. He delivered him to his mother.

Happy Mother’s Davy

Happy Mother's Day 2024

Hey Friend,

This Is Odie checking in for my weekly post. I hope you are doing well today! When I was looking ahead and planning out some blog content. The calendar gave me a fantastic topic for today.

Public Service Announcement

Tomorrow, May 12th, is Mother's Day in the United States of America. Moms deserve special treatment and love, so show the extraordinary ladies in your life some appreciation!

Happy Mother's Day to each lady reading this post! You are special to me. Thank you to many of you for your friendship to me and our family!

I am so thankful for the many wonderful ladies in my life! God has blessed me abundantly with a Mother, grandmother, aunts and dear friends. I do not take them for granite.

Each of them has taken time from their lives to make sure mine is awesome! They are each counted among my many blessings! May God bless them abundantly for their love, help, friendship and kindness to me!

Happy Mother's Day, Kelly Jo Boggs

My dear Mama is the star that shines the brightest of all! I have often said she's a superhero, and this year is no exception! Mom is devoted, caring, loving and selfless. I have described her as the energizer bunny who never stops.

From morning to night, Mom is on the go, always helping and doing for those she loves! Dad and I would not be who we are without our hero!

Thank you can not convey my gratitude adequately. I love you feels so hollow when talking about my Mom. I try in little ways daily to show her how much she is appreciated! On Mother's Day, I like to tell her even more.

She does not like to be in the spotlight. Mom is more content in the background, but I want the world to know my awesome Mom, Kelly Jo Boggs.

Mama,
Happy Mother's Day! I love you so much! My eyes are leaking on my desk as I type. You are an astounding lady! I am privileged to have you as my Mother!

God knew just what I needed when He picked you out for me! He gave me a tender Mama, nurse, teacher, guide, counselor and friend all in one person. You are a beautiful package! Thank you for being awesome in each capacity of your job!

I hope you know you are loved, honored and appreciated today more than ever! May God bless you with rest, strength and everything you need!

I still want to be like you when I grow up.😘😇 I am proud to be your daughter!

Thanks for joining me as I honor my Mama. See you all next week.

An Important Trip Today

This is an important weekend for us. Today, by God’s grace, we will leave home mid morning and travel about 200 miles south to London, Kentucky

We are scheduled to preach graduation tonight for the school at London First Pentecostal Church. Our plan is to stay over and preach both services Mother’s Day.

We have always enjoyed the churches in the London area. We love being with Pastor Jarvis, his wife and the Saints at London First Pentecostal church. It is a joy to be there with them and that makes this weekend special on its own.

However, being with them is special for more reasons than that. When I had a stroke on December 29, I was loading sound equipment into the BoggsMobile. We were preparing to leave that afternoon to be in place to begin revival December 31 for Pastor Jarvis at London First Pentecostal church.

That makes them the first of many churches we had to cancel because of the stroke. When Pastor Jarvis realized I was preaching again, he text me and asked me to preach these services and I was honored to make that commitment.

We are excited to go to London and finally make our scheduled first stop of the year. It is not the same as revival, but we are very happy to finally be going there.

It would be more like a full circle if we were taking the bus, but it is a little early for that so the jeep will head south in a few hours. We sure appreciate those of you that pray for us in our travels and preaching.

May God bless you all today. Thank you for reading.

The Process Continues In Our Lives

Here’s a picture of the inside of my elbow at 19 weeks since the stroke.

For comparison, here is a picture of that same elbow two weeks after the stroke.

All of that blood and bruising came from the first day of the stroke so it dates back to day one. For background information let me refer you back to these two post here and here.

The process of healing has been long and it sure seems slow to me, but the professionals who have treated me have constantly reminded me recovering from a brainstem stroke is a slow and painstaking process.

When I look into the mirror, I look like I am back to my old self. I look like me, I talk like me and I almost walk like me, but for some reason I’m not quite me yet.

And the medical professionals remind me over and over, along with that little voice in my head that I try to ignore, that the reason for the delay is it takes time to heal.

I am ready to push. I am ready to run. I am ready to go. I am ready to sing. I am ready to preach. I am ready to load in equipment. I am ready to drive the bus. I am ready to see results.

But my brain stem needs more time. And if you read the links I listed above, you will find that I already know that. You will find that in my heart I believe that. Yes, I am a strong proponent of instantaneous miraculous healing, but sometimes healing is a process.

It has taken 19 weeks for the inside of my elbow to reach the place it is and it still has some discoloration. That means there’s still some old blood under the skin that is not dissipated yet, but time is passing, the process that God created in my body is working and it is healing.

The brainstem is going through the same process, but the fact is I cannot see it. Therefore, we pray for the instantaneous touch. We believe for a miracle. We trust in the power of God to work now. And we wait for the process to run its course and bring me to completion.

In my case, there is a small little spot in my brain stem that is never coming back without a miracle, there is no process for it to revive. However the brain can build pathways around it and it often does. Those can come miraculously or they can take time.

Meanwhile, along the way, I see small improvements and I rejoice in each one. Hallelujah! I give God glory in each small victory! He deserves the praise, because he created my body to heal.

The truth is you are waiting too. We know that is true. There are circumstances that you would change now. There are situations that you would solve now. You are facing dilemmas of life that you would have miracles in right now.

And perhaps that is the way God will do it. I pray that your miracle comes today. But if it does not, we wait for the process to run its course and for God to bring us to completion.

So, we pray, believe, live our lives and wait together.

Thank you for joining us today.

A Word For Wednesday, The Ingredients For God's Glorious Church

Good Morning! Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Today I am telling a short story from C. Roy Angel in the last chapter of his book, Baskets of Silver with a beautiful application within the story.

God's church is a glorious church and it is God's will that we are beautiful ingredients of that church. We may not qualify at all in our current state, but God's grace will cleanse and shape us to be exactly what we are supposed to be. When God is finished with us we will be proper ingredients of God's beautiful church.

I hope you have a super day.
