Our weekend began with one more great meal and fellowship with the Millikin family and the last night of revival at Westside Holiness Church. We had a wonderful service with lots of friends visiting and the Lord visiting too. We are praising God for His help.
We left Claremore about 11:00 AM and arrived in Wichita about 3:00 PM. We had to navigate the bus in Wichita around a street festival and the corresponding traffic, but we made it into the church just fine. My brother Steve and his wife Karen helped us pull in, load in, set up and then get parked and situated.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal with them Saturday evening. It is great to be with them.
Sunday was a wonderful day of revival at Bethany Revival Center and Pastor John DiZazzo and Sis. Judy! Wow! It was a tremendous day! Praise God!
That wraps up a great weekend. Thank you for reading today.
This is Odie; today is a travel day for us. We are changing states this time around. The BoggsMobile is headed toward Wichita, Kansas. We anticipate a great week with Pastor John DiZazzo and the Bethany Revival Center church family!
It is November, our Thanksgiving month in the USA. I decided to write about things I am thankful for this month. This week, I have been thinking a lot about Heaven. I am so grateful that I can look forward to Heaven!
We have had several friends finish their earthly lives this year. Lately, we seem to get sad news far too often. It has been hard to think I will not get to be with them again here.
The person who has left this life gets to leave this crazy world behind. Now, they forever live in a perfect place. They have finished their race. Heaven was their ultimate goal! They are winners! Once they have reached Heaven, they are healed, happy and whole. Most of all, they have met Jesus face to face!
Part of me is happy that they completed their life's journey. Then my heart aches for the family and friends left behind! I wish I knew what to do or say to help people in their time of pain! I always feel extremely inadequate in this area.
Saying goodbye down here seems so final. Nothing ever fully prepares you for those sad days! I do not care if it is an expected event or comes as a complete shock. The finality of that friend or family member taking their last breath on earth never gets easier.
There is a song Titled Better Off There by The Browns. It was released in 2020. I have loved the message in this song for years. Earlier this year, I pulled it up to play for Mom. That is when I discovered Sonya Isaacs Yeary, her husband Jimmy Yeary and Wayne Haun co-wrote the song. No wonder the message is strong in the lyrics! Sonya and Jimmy are two of my favorite writers!
I have found this song coming to my mind many times over the last several months. I will forever miss all of my family and friends that have gone home before me. I know they are Better Off There! We will meet again someday soon!
I am so thankful that I have Heaven to look forward to. Do not get me wrong, I love my life now! I am blessed beyond measure and eternally grateful! When God says, my time is here is finished. I am looking forward to Heaven.
We all have a set time to live. God has numbered our days. Once a Christian has left this life, we get the reward of Heaven. If we have received Christ as our Savior and lived according to His word in the Bible. We will see Him and our Christian loved ones in Heaven! Oh, What a blessed hope we have!
Most of you reading this post are looking forward to achieving your goal of Heaven, too! It will not be long until we are all there together with Christ! We can praise Him for the first million years for all of His goodness to us! Then, meet me on the streets of gold. I will be running, catch me if you can! We will all be Better Off There!
There is one more thing I have to get out today before I sign off. Friend, if you are not a born again believer in Christ, I pray for you! Life here without having God to guide you is miserable. When this life is over, without Christ, hell and torment are all you have to look forward to. I do not want one more soul to have to experience hell. There is nothing fun or beautiful there! It will be a place of utter pain! Please do not go there!
I encourage you to find someone to talk to about Christ right now. You can always reach out to us if you need help finding Christ! We love to show others how to get to Him! Contact us here.
We have some great pictures this week in Revival In Pictures, but we have fewer pictures than normal for two reasons. Number one, we only had two services to get pictures AND Odie had been missing in action this week because she has been under the weather.
Therefore, you only have pictures from when I remembered we needed pictures. That is my story and I am sticking to it.😍
I do hope you enjoy Revival In Pictures from Claremore, Oklahoma. Thank you for stopping in.
In one hour period this week I had two vivid nightmares. Wow!
In the first, Pastor Jimmy Millikin and I were driving around looking for the BoggsMobile. I had parked the bus in front of a church that I had just begun to Pastor. That day was my first service. Some of the time I was driving and some of the time, Bro. Millikin was driving, but we could not find the church.
We would say, "I think it is down this road" or "It must be over here", but we would turn and we were wrong every time. We drove and drove and drove, looking for the bus, but never found it. It was so frustrating!
I knew I had parked the bus right out front.
How could I misplace the bus?
Why had I accepted the Pastorate of a church?
Why couldn't two grown men find neither the church or the bus?
Arg!
In the second nightmare, Odie was driving a small car pulling our huge tent trailer and I was riding in the tent trailer. There was a window in the tent trailer and I was talking to Odie on speakerphone and giving her turn-by-turn directions.
There are so many things wrong with that scenario.
We were going to a preacher's house way out in the country. We barely know this preacher and his wife was riding with Odie. In real life, I am not even sure if I know what this preacher's wife looks like so I have no idea why she was with Odie.
We were coming to the last turn onto a long gravel drive and Odie missed the turn.
Our signal had gone weak and I could hear them talking, but they could no longer hear me. We were on a small country road so I opened the window and then opened the door, flailing my arms trying to get Odie's attention. It took nearly a mile for her to see me and to stop in the middle of the road.
I knew that Odie could not back into a driveway to turn around, but I knew I could. As I was getting into the driver's seat, I woke up.
The first nightmare left me in a cold sweat the second left me a nervous wreck. If anyone receives the interpretation for either, let me know. We need a Joseph to step up.
So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.
Several years ago we were invited to sing at a church in an area and city that were completely unknown to us. We were delighted to accept the invitation and put the church on the schedule at our first possibility.
We knew nothing about the church's history, doctrine or members. All we knew was that the people we met were kind and desired us to sing for them.
The fact of the matter is this, no church ever gets just singing from us. I am a preacher and the Word of God is going to come out if you want us to sing for 45 minutes or an hour. I preached between songs that night and we had a wonderful time.
As we were shaking hands after the service and taking down our sound system, I had two very interesting and completely sincere questions.
#1 You mentioned revival. What is revival?
#2 You said that people such as alcoholics, drug addicts and others could be instantly changed by Christ. Is that true?
Can God really make a drastic change in a life? Can God make everything new? This is what the Bible says.
II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Oh, yes He can! Hallelujah! God will radically and drastically change us when we come unto God by Him! I was happy that night to tell those precious people that God has and will make an instant and substantial difference in lives.
