Revival In Pictures - Elkton, VA, Bible Holiness Church

Odie captured some great pictures for this week's edition of Revival In Pictures at Bible Holiness Church in Elkton, Virginia. I love looking at the pictures and I hope you do too.

We have already had a wonderful week here with Pastor Brent Gabbard and the wonderful folks. Bro. Brent and Sis. Teresa are dear friends and it has been refreshing to visit with them at lunch and after church each night.

We have enjoyed their fellowship and the fellowship of the people here at Bible Holiness. They have been so kind to us and have responded well to the singing and preaching. We have loved every moment.

We have one more night of revival and we are expecting God to do great things for His people. I can hardly wait to experience the final service. May God meet us in a mighty way.

Thank you for dropping by today. Please enjoy the Revival In Pictures.

The Green Machine Lives to Ride Again!

The Green Machine has been part of our family for so many years that it has become part of our identity. Other than the BoggsMobile, we have owned The Green Machine longer than any other vehicle.

People ask about the Green Machine almost everywhere we go. Even though we have not pulled it anywhere since December 2020, it is still missed when we pull onto the parking lot of churches.

I miss the little Green Machine too. With the mad prices of used cars, I have been tempted to sell it, but so far I have resisted the temptation. When a hog has been that good to the family, you hate to eat it all at one time.😍

The Green Machine stays in one place too much now and the battery runs down and needs to be jumped after sitting for several weeks. While jumping the battery earlier this year, something arced and blew a couple of fuses. Dad and Bro. Aster Northern found and replaced the blown fuses and got it running again.

What we did not know and could not know at that moment is that something else blew and the fuse block in the interior of the car was also dead. The wipers, power door locks, power windows, tail lights, brake lights, fan and more were all dead.

KJo checked all the fuses in that fuse block when we were home recently and they were all good. There was no power to the fuses.

The last day we were home, I had a few moments to dig into it. I first checked a large fusible link near the battery, but it was good. Then I decided to check this contraption that is attached to the battery.

There is no way to even see what it is without disconnecting and completely removing the battery. I did that, opened the red lid and this is what is underneath.

These are fusible links in a fashion that I had never seen before. If you look closely, the one in the middle is broken. It is 120 amp and controlled the entire interior fuse block.

This is a better look.

We were already late getting on the road, but I was so close to getting the Green Machine going. I ran to the nearest auto parts place, but they had none. I went to the next store and they had one package of assorted sizes.

The one that blew was 120 amp. The assorted package had 110 amp and 150 amp among others. I put the 150 amp in temporarily, reinstalled the battery, hooked it up and turned the key. When the Green Machine fired up I checked all of the formerly nonfunctioning features and they were all working.

Time will tell IF the proper fuse will be the final fix, but for now, the Green Machine lives to ride again. That puts a big smile on my face!

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Word For Wednesday, How Does Salvation Work? USS Squalus

We have had several hundred friends dropping by Mile Markers every day for years. Sometimes the numbers are over 1000 each day. Thank you for that. We appreciate it very much. Would you consider clicking on the YouTube link and joining us there as well? It would make our day!

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. A Few minutes ago, I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

How does salvation work? Can we be saved without understanding how it works and why God would do it? Absolutely Yes! 33 men were saved from a sunken submarine off the coast of New Hampshire in 1939. They were rescued by a brand new contraption that they had never seen or maybe even heard about.
Not one of those 33 men declined to be saved because they did not understand the method of salvation. They very gladly climbed out of the sunken submarine into the newly developed McCann Rescue Chamber, no questions asked!

You do not have to understand Salvation or anything from the Bible. All you have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confess your sin and ask Him to save you. He will do it!

Thank you for dropping in. Have a great day!

How Do We Make Sense Of It All?

My mind gets tired of juggling things that need to be done.

-I have several bus projects that must be done. Most of them, I am not able to do myself.

-Even though we were home a few days ago, we left a long list of things that need to be done and an even longer list of things that we would like to do.

-I have bookwork that is constantly piling up and getting out of hand. Ugh!

-I have sermons to prepare, sermons that need to be repaired and 100+ things that I need to be spending more time attending to in prayer.

-I have Mile Markers that need to be written and prepared for publication. Some of them are only vague ideas around the edges of my mind. They must be fleshed out, thought through, then typed and retyped a few times.

-I also need to work on A Word For Wednesday. I need to think, pray, write, record, edit and publish. All that needs to be done before church tonight and then I need to start all over. Next Wednesday will be here before I know it.

-I need to do so much work at being a better father, a better husband, a better preacher and a better friend. Wow! Lots of work to do and so little to work with!

-I have not even mentioned that my mind is often busy with scheduling, conflict in our society, world situations, the downward slide of morality and millions of lost men and women I would love to reach for and preach to.

I suppose that I am just like you. Many of us are juggling way too much in our minds and most of you are tired from the struggle. How do we cope with this? How do we make sense of it all?

This is what works for me and helps me with the struggle in my mind. I push all this heavy mental load aside for a moment and focus instead on all of the wonderful things in my life that I have to be thankful for.

I have so many things to thank God for.

-I have been gloriously saved by the grace of God. My sins that were many are now gone. He has washed me and cleansed me from all sin! I am on my way to Heaven for eternity although I deserve hell! Hallelujah! I am thankful for salvation.
-Being part of the family of God has introduced me to many thousands of His children and I am blessed in immeasurable ways by knowing His family.
-God has opened doors for us to work in the ministry and He has given us favor among His people. That is a gift of amazing proportions. I can hardly fathom the depth of this gift.
-I have a lovely wife that is talented, hard working and Godly. She loves me and has followed me all over the world in ministry. She is beautiful, generous and kind and is also a terrific mother to our daughter.
-We have a daughter that has a heart for God and ministry. She loves and gives and is so kind and thoughtful. She loves her parents to a fault and we are blessed to have her.
-We are blessed with material blessings in ways that are difficult for us to even understand. Even when times are lean, God provides for us every step along the way.
-We are blessed with family. Both of my parents and both of KJo's parents are still living and play a big part in our lives.
-All of our siblings are alive.
-We have a great home church and a wonderful Pastor and churches and Pastors all over the USA that are a huge influence on us.

Obviously, I could go on and on detailing the many blessings that we have to be thankful for. Can you take a moment to count your blessings? Go ahead, name them one by one. I suspect that your problems may mount to the sky, but I also suspect that your blessings are even greater!

How do we make sense of all the problems? We put our problems in perspective by praise. We have many reasons to praise God!

I hope that is helpful. Thank you for stopping by.
