Vintage View Vednesday Tent Revival Millry 2013

This week we had planned to be preaching revival for Pastor Lamar Chapman at Midway Assembly near St. Stephens, Alabama. "Midway" midway between St. Stephens and Millry. I waded into the dusty archives looking for pictures of one of the tent revivals we preached in Millry at the request of Pastor Lamar Chapman.

I found a treasure trove of pictures from our tent revival there in 2013. We had been using that tent for about one year at that time and we washed it for the very first time after we rolled it on the ground. Odie captured pictures of the whole thing.

Most of you probably know by now that we postponed the revival at Midway at the suggestion of Bro. Chapman due to bus situations that are out of our control. However, I decided these pictures would work great today anyway.

Thank you for stopping in. I hope you enjoy this Vintage View Vednesday.

Online Camp Meeting For Nigeria - You Are Invited!

Last week in Bristol, Virginia, we recorded three services for camp meeting at Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, West Africa. This week we plan to record one more for the Sunday service we were supposed to have there. I had a wonderful time preaching these services and it "almost" felt like I was there among them a few times, especially when I was praying for them.

I had written six sermons for the camp meeting in Abeokuta from Isaiah 41:10. I preached them first in Wichita at Bethany Revival Center in July and I preached five of them in the Tent/Cruise-In Revival in Waynesville the first week of August.

We plan to post these four services on our YouTube channel this week so that our friends in Nigeria will have access to them for the scheduled camp meeting next week. It is supposed to begin Wednesday, September 9.

If you attended the revival in Wichita or Waynesville or watched the services, the preaching will sound familiar, but there will be differences I am sure.

PLUS, you will get to see us in our African clothes! KJo incorporates her African clothes into her regular outfits, but I usually only get to wear mine in Nigeria. I love preaching in these clothes.

I am planning to post these each night at 8:00 PM Eastern time beginning tonight, Tuesday. As of now, Odie, myself or all three of us should be online during the services so we will be able to interact with you and answer any questions you may have. We are looking forward to it.

That means we should have service each night this week, Tuesday through Friday at 8:00 PM Eastern. We would love to have you join us and share the service with others if you can.

Thank you for stopping to visit Mile Markers.

What's Up Weekend? 8/31/2020

This weekend began with quite a bit of excitement and the rest of the weekend lived up to the theme. There is no sense in being bored, right?

We had a wonderful service Friday night to conclude revival. The altar service was tremendous and about 20-30 minutes into it the power flashed a few times and then went out, dramatically. That took out most of the music, but people kept right on praying and worshipping and testifying. It was awesome!

We visited after service and walked out of the church about one hour and 20 minutes after the power went out. As we went out the door, the power came back on for about two minutes, went back out and stayed off most of the night.

Food pictures first.

I took a few pictures after church in the dark.

We cranked the generator after church and were fine. I checked about 2:30 and the power was still out, but it was back on when I got up about 5:30.

We left the church at 7:40 AM Saturday and pointed the bus south and east. We fully intended to be in St. Stephens, Alabama to begin revival Sunday evening. As I mentioned yesterday, we had some difficulties with the bus right out of the box Saturday morning so we had to detour to East Tennessee Luxury Coach in Vonore, Tennessee. We are very thankful that we were able to make it here.

I let Pastor Lamar Chapman know that we would not make it to Alabama for Sunday night and he was very gracious toward us. Later in the day, he offered the option of postponing the revival one week and we accepted. That takes some pressure off of us.

Sunday morning we began a day of prayer for our nation and our world concerning COVID 19 and all of the impact it has produced. We know that ONLY God can heal our land and we are asking him to do it.

Praise God for His almighty help! We have heard reports of great prayer meetings all over the country Sunday. Praise God that His people are praying and seeking His face. Now, we trust Him to do what is best.

We will be pulling into the shop first thing this morning. Pray for us. Thank you for stopping by.

View Out The Front Window 8/30/2020

I intended to take a picture out the window this morning from a truck stop or rest area in south central Alabama. Plans go haywire sometimes and yesterday was one of those days. We ended up detouring to Jeff Rowe's shop in Vonore, Tennessee for a bus complication that I will describe once we have a handle on it.

Here is our view out the front window.

We were supposed to begin revival at Midway Assembly tonight, Sunday. I informed Pastor Lamar Chapman at the earliest moment that I could and he was gracious to allow me begin as soon as we could get there. Later Saturday he offered to postpone revival one week if it would work for us.

We are supposed to be in Nigeria the next week, but that does not look possible at this time, so we rescheduled revival to begin on September 6.

That takes some pressure off. Please pray that Jeff can get to the bottom of this bus situation.

I plan to have a short prayer meeting online about 8:00 this morning IF we have enough internet signal to do it. Our signal is a little flakey right now. I realize that people will be getting ready to go to church, but it will be archived on YouTube and I will embed it here. You can join us anytime later.

This is the prayer list I am praying over today.
-People affected by COVID 19 right now
-Families of the many hundreds of thousands that have died.
-Doctors and nurses and other medical personnel that have treated patients and dealt with the fallout.
-Local, state and national governments and leaders.
-Pastors, church leaders and churches.
-Businesses and the economic impact. Those that have lost their jobs.
-Doctors and scientists that are researching treatments, cures and vaccines. I desire for treatments and cures to be found.
-Finally, let us ask God to heal our land!

Thank you for stopping by.

Prepared For The Ketchup Apocalypse

Hey Friends,

This is Odie stopping by for a quick chat with you. I hope this finds you doing well today! I am doing really good. It is great to be catching up with my friends today.

We closed revival last night in Bristol, Tennessee and we are now pointed toward St. Stephens, Alabama. We are hoping to avoid the remnants of Hurrican Laura as much as possible, but it has been raining all night in Bristol.

What have you been shopping for lately? I went over 4 months without going into a store this year. I have done a lot of shopping online for years, but this year the majority of my shopping this year has been online due to COVID.

Mom has been going to the grocery store for most of our food needs recently. There is one essential item in our house that has been hard to find. We really enjoy Ketchup made by Hellman's. It is so good and it is sweetened with only honey and is low in sugar

It has been very hard to find during the pandemic, like a lot of other things. Thanks to a FedEx delivery we are back in business in the ketchup department of life. We are prepared for the coming Ketchup apocalypse and do not have to panic anymore.

I found that I could order the Hellman's Ketchup online and have it sent to my door. Mom told me to stock up while we were home. Walmart sold it in two packs for a good price.

When I logged on to the website to place my order I found that I needed a certain dollar amount to get to the free two day shipping. This meant I ended up ordering five of the two packs, which equaled ten bottles of ketchup. We will be set for a while on ketchup.

I placed the order on a Tuesday evening. Thursday morning the box was sitting on my porch. Inside I found ten Individual bottles of Hellmans Ketchup waiting for me. I thought it was funny that is was sold as a two pack, but they were not packaged that way.

Here is a picture of our ketchup stockpile. I set aside two bottles to use at my house. Mom took two bottles two the BoggsMobile and the rest are stored away. I now have a special shelf for ketchup in a cabinet.

Have you had trouble finding anything?  Do you have a stockpile of anything abnormal?

Thanks for reading! I appreciate all of you!
