#42 Weekend Woundup and Weview

This ended up being a long post but the one redeeming quality is lots of pictures. Let us get started. On your mark, get ready, go!

To properly wrap up the weekend, we need to go all the way back to our first evening home which was Wednesday. We arrived home after 2:00 PM and Dad was waiting for us at the barn. Once we were parked, we slipped down to Acapulco for a little "welcome home salsa." The salsa was good enough to drink and spending time with Dad capped it off perfectly.

Bro. Jimmy Millikin was in revival this week a few miles away at Corwin and we knew that Wednesday would probably be our only night to attend. We had a great service and enjoyed being with the Millikins very much.

On Thursday the first thing on the agenda was moving all the tent stuff from Bro. Jimmie's trailer, sorting through it all and then packing it away in our tent trailer. Bro. Jimmie Radcliffe, Bro. Jimmy Millikin, Kelly Jo and I worked several hours to get it all completed.

Of course, we had to throw in a little salsa for good measure.

Thursday night we went to Dryden Rd. It was very good to be back home and to hear Bro. Bennie preach.

Friday was more work with a pause for a Birthday lunch for Miss Carli Rose Millikin at Acapulco.

Then Kelly Jo and I plunged into catching up on ministry and personal book work. We worked several hours Friday evening and late into the night. We did pause for a little more salsa.

I finished up the remaining book work Saturday morning and that catches us up for a little while.

Saturday at 11:00 AM we all gathered with family and friends at Dad's barn for a big home cooked breakfast. Steve and Karen's son Isaac is going into the military this week and he requested a big breakfast as his going away celebration. I must say I am glad we were home to participate. It was wonderful!

Saturday evening I walked over to the fellowship hall at Dodd's Church for a few minutes. They were having a 90th Birthday party for Bro. John Coffman. Bro. John has attended Dodds all of my life and had a big influence on me as a kid. He was my Royal Ranger teacher on Monday nights and he was a lot of fun.

He and his wife, Sis. Margie are great folks and it was an honor to attend his special day.

Another project Saturday was repairing the fence out front. It was hit by a neighbor riding a dirt bike the other day and a post broke and a few horizontal boards.

Dad had saved the posts when he removed the long north/south fence for me right after we purchased this place. We used one of the old posts and a few new cedar boards to repair it. It was an easy repair with Bro. Jimmie on the job.

We will let the cedar boards season some and then paint them to match.

Sunday morning we preached at our home church, Dryden Rd. Pentecostal Church.

It was wonderful to be there and enjoy the presence of the Lord both services Sunday. We love being home and each time are with our home church we are reminded of exactly why we chose this church many, many years ago.

God has used our Pastor and these precious people to guide us, help us and strengthen us along the way at very strategic times in our lives. He is still using them for His purposes and we are thankful for it. We are still very glad to be a part of Dryden Rd. Pentecostal Church.

That pretty much wraps up our weekend of activities. It was a super great weekend. This morning we start a new project at the Lazy OD Ranch and we will let you know more about that as the week and the work progresses.

Thank you for reading.

My Birthday and The Isaacs

Hello, this is Odie and I am checking in from the BoggsMobile at home in Waynesville, Ohio. Before I get to the main subject of this post, I want to wish Carli Milikin a Happy Birthday. Carli Rose I hope you have a fantastic 10th birthday! We love you! We loved eating lunch with you and your family yesterday.

My Birthday and The Isaacs

We left the tent site in Fayetteville last Saturday, but as Dad told you in Monday's post he had a detour planned for Sunday night. This detour was a surprise birthday gift for me. I did not suspect it.

Now as an faithful Isaacs schedule watcher, I will admit I knew they were close (Within a few hours of us) Sunday night. I also knew they were not on our route home. I knew we could not go and I was okay with that.

When the BoggsMobile got sick on the road Sunday I had no idea what in the world we were going to do. Then Dad came inside and explained his original plan to me. He had intended to pull into the church where the Isaacs were setting up a few hours early and surprise me. There was no way that was going to happen with the bus broke down.

Dad apologized that it did not work out the way he planned. He then told me to be ready in 20 minutes, that Mom and I were taking the Green Machine to see the Isaacs and that he would follow when the BoggsMobile was rolling again. I was shocked and surprised!

We were able to cross paths with the Isaacs in Mobile, Alabama back in January. I was very ready to see them again!  It had not worked out again so far this year, although we did get to spend a few hours with Ben in Nashville in February.

Sunday night was an amazing night with the Isaacs. The church was full of people ready to hear some incredible singing and music.

The Isaacs did a few favorites from their older projects. Most of the concert they featured new music from Nature's Symphony in 432. I love getting to hear the new music live and in person. I can not get enough of the new music. It is awesome and I have listened to it daily since it was released in September.

It was an awesome evening! Once again the talent of my favorite group leaves me speechless and amazed.

I met some fellow Isaacs fans. We had a great time getting acquainted. I will probably bump into them at another Isaacs concert along the road.

It was so good to see two of my favorite little guys. Gatlyn in now 10 months old and Adyen is 5 years old and loving kindergarten. They are special fellows and I love every chance I get to see them.

We were able to visit some with all the gang. We love any time we get the to visit with them. To all the Isaacs, I love you and you are the best.

Mark and I decided to try teamwork at get the equipment ready to load.

Then Dad decided I needed to be loaded in the trailer with the rest of the equipment.

Then the BoggsMobile and Green Machine are ready to roll on down the road. I am already anticipating seeing the Isaacs again very soon.

Before I close for today, I want to give this beautiful lady a shout out on the blog. Becky you are amazing. Thank you for being my friend and a great inspiration!! I love you!

Thank You to my parents for a great birthday gift! I do appreciate your efforts to make this surprise a reality.

Thank you for stopping by Boggsblogs. If you are new here, we try to post daily on our family's travels and life. We love having you along for the ride with us.
