Sunday - Revival In Pictures

We woke up to a beautiful cool fall morning Sunday.

There are lots of pictures to post today so it will mostly be pictures with a few words thrown in for good measure.

It was great to see the new church filling up for service Sunday morning.

We had a good start to revival Sunday morning and we have great hope and faith that God will bless in revival all week long. We have had some tremendous revivals at Amazing Grace Holiness Tabernacle in years past and it is easy to imagine it happening again this year. These folks love to have church and it shows!

We enjoyed a fabulous meal in the home of Bro. Cliff and Sis. Cindy Burris Sunday afternoon.

Sunday night was Pastor Appreciation Service for Pastor Jared Burris and his family. It was an outstanding service and I was honored to be a part of it. Bro. Jared puts his heart into pastoring this church and obviously loves his people. He is also my friend and has proven that friendship time and again through the years.

The church folks really went to great lengths to demonstrate their love and appreciation for Bro. Jared and his family. It is very clear that they love the Pastor that God has given them.

Thanks for reading. I hope you had a great Sunday too.

View Out The Front Window October 19, 2014

We had a great travel day from Prevost in Mira Loma, California to Amazing Grace Holiness Tabernacle in Atwater, California. It was an absolutely beautiful drive of about 345 miles. I stopped one time at a rest area about 4 hours into the drive to walk some and work the kinks out of my joints. Other than that short stop we kept the hammer down and our nose pointed mostly north.

We pulled into Amazing Grace Tabernacle's new location about 4:00. We were so busy getting parked, setting up, hugging friends and touring the new church that I neglected to get proper pictures out the front window of the BoggsMobile. These pictures of Kelly Jo pulling in the parking lot will have to suffice for this week.

The new church is beautiful. The building was in very rough shape when they purchased it earlier this year and they have worked a bunch to get to this point. The sanctuary was completely gutted and you can tell from the few pictures below that it is wonderful to behold now.

I can not tell you how good it is to see Pastor Jared Burris and his family. These are some of the finest folks in the world and some of our dearest friends.

Isn't it beautiful?

We will have many more pictures later in the week. We are looking forward to revival starting today and the dedication service on Saturday at noon.

Of course we had to eat a little bite with our friends before bed time.

I hope you have a good Sunday.

Goodbye 28 and Hello 29

Hey friends!  This is Odie and as Dad told you Tuesday I am now 29 years old. That is not old by some standard but it is the oldest I have ever been! I am very thankful for the blessings of God. He has blessed me with a great 29 years and lots of adventure. I am excited to see what lies ahead for me. Only God sees the BIG picture.

Right now I am holding tight to 29!!

My Mamaw sent this picture Tuesday.  It was taken at my grandparents on my birthday. It reminds me of the promises of God. I am standing firm on His promises.

Thank you to all of my friends who brightened my week with your birthday wishes. I truly appreciate your calls, texts, voicemails, comments, FaceTime calls, videos and emails! Your thoughtfulness still puts a smile on my face!  I am truly abundantly blessed with great friends and family. I love you all!!

The Boggs crew in Ohio do not need an excuse to meet up and eat. They called Tuesday to let me know they were celebrating my birthday at Papaw's barn, even though I am in California.  I am glad they had a good time celebrating the longest loved granddaughter and niece!  Here are some pics they sent me.
