Time To Move Along

We did some moving the last 24 hours for sure.

I mentioned earlier that I could not find a suitable place to park the BoggsMobile in the Boston area with availability until Wednesday. We could have remained parked at the church in Arundel. Pastor Reynolds had made us feel as welcome as can be.

However, we try diligently not to take advantage of the kindness that churches extend to us and we had already stayed several days after revival had ended in Maine. We appreciate their hospitality but we do not want a church to dread to see us coming next time.

I had made a reservation for a week beginning yesterday south of Boston so Tuesday night after church it was time to set things in motion.

We had checked out of the hotel Tuesday and spent the afternoon at the church. When service was over, we loaded in the Jeep and took off for Arundel, Maine and the bus. We arrived a few minutes after 11:00, but by the time we were unloaded and packed in, it was nearly 1:00 AM.

Wednesday morning, we disconnected the utilities and reversed course.

It was about 130 miles to the campground on the south side of Boston near Bellingham and I-495. We made a fuel stop in New Hampshire. We really did not need diesel, but truck stops are few and far between and we are trying to be prudent.

The campground entrance and the spot available were tight, but we made it in just fine. This campground had good reviews and feels safe. One of the parks that had available spaces had horrible reviews and we try to watch that closely. The last place I need to park is a campground that is unsafe for us or the bus or the sound equipment.

Once we arrived, checked in, parked and set up, I was done in. I reckon Tuesday night and the drive Wednesday piled up on me. I felt better later and all three of us were able to do our duties for the evening. Thank God for His help.

Tomorrow we will try to post Revival In Pictures. See you then.

A Wordless Wednesday-Great Is Thy Faithfulness at St. Anne's Chapel

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Wordless For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Wordless for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Today we have a special piano treat for you from Kelly Jo. It is time for  A Wordless Wednesday. Kelly Jo is playing a bit of Great Is Thy Faithfulness on the keyboard at Bethel Revival Center and then we sing some of the same song at St. Anne's Chapel next to the Ocean in Kennebunkport, Maine. The singing was the first take and by no means perfect, but I hope you enjoy.

Thank you for stopping in.

A New Place Coming Up Soon

We met Pastor Marcos Fabiano here at Bethel Revival Center in 2019. He has been pioneering a Brazillian mission work in Everett since 2016.

Pastor Marcos on the left last night with Pastor Orville Plummer.

He is a great guy and we are excited to see him again this week at revival. He called and told me he would be there and we were excited to hear the great news. It was wonderful to have him and to get to visit with him.

Pastor Marcos contacted me a while back and asked about us preaching for him while we are in Boston and we are so glad to receive the invitation. We love going new places.

By God's grace, we will be singing and preaching for Pastor Marcos Sunday evening July 30 at 6:30. We are expecting a great visitation from the Lord in the service. Please pray for us as God opens new avenues for us to minister.

Thank you for stopping in today. Check back tomorrow. I think I will have a special Wordless Wednesday. See you then.

The Weekend Dispatch 7/24/23

Friday we drove only a few miles again to Kennebunkport, Maine. We had been there Monday, but St. Anne's Chapel was not accessible that day. The grounds were open but the road was being graded or something and we could not get close. We intended to correct that on Friday.

We visited St. Anne's several years ago and we wanted to return.

St. Anne's is an Episcopal seaside chapel open only in the summer. It has this beautiful stone church and an outdoor area next to the ocean. I would like to fill in there as the preacher for a summer or two.

The whole setting is calming and peaceful to me.

Saturday we shared a meal and fellowship with Pastor and Sis. Reynolds. We sure love these people. It has been a joy to be here with them and the church.

Although we drove to Boston to begin revival in Everett Sunday morning, the BoggsMobile stayed behind.

As some of you may remember, we have parked at a local business in Peabody, Massachusetts while preaching in the Boston area. That has worked great, but we need a reliable generator in order not to die from heat stroke. Since the generator is flakey at the moment, we have been looking for alternatives.

Campgrounds in the Boston area are rare and campgrounds with spots suitable for the bus are even more rare. Campgrounds with suitable spaces and availability in July and August are non-existent it seems.

I have searched up to 2.5 hours from Bethel Revival Center and I came up completely empty for this weekend. I did find a decent campground about an hour or so south of the church beginning Wednesday.

So we loaded some sound equipment in the Jeep and KJo worked like a mule to get things ready to move out of the bus a couple of days.

We drove down Sunday morning and we are staying in a hotel Sunday night and Monday night. Tuesday night after church, we will drive back to Arundel, Maine and drive the bus to a campground in Massachusetts Wednesday.

We arrived at the church Sunday morning about 9:45 AM and we were set up and ready in plenty of time for the 11:00 AM service. Pastor Plummer had us lead the worship as he usually does and we flowed right into Odie's song and the sermon. We enjoyed a great response in both services Sunday.

In between services we enjoyed our first meal of the week at Polcari's in Saugus and checked into our hotel. We did not have much time for rest, but I intend to make up for it if possible.

I have written before about how much I love the Antiposto Salad appetizer at Polcari's. It is perfect for me

The huge Antiposto used to be a bargain at $18, but the price is $8 higher now. Ouch! But I am only here a few days so maybe I can endure it!

We love being here at Bethel Revival Center and I am sure we will try to have more pictures later. Thank you for stopping by.

Inside Out Odie

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting from the northeast. Tomorrow we will begin revival with our precious friends at Bethel Revival Center. I am excited to see what God has planned for us in Everett, Massachusetts!

I am here today to tell on myself. I am not a stranger to public fashion accidents. Photos of my past accidents can be found in the blog archives. Those moments have been embarrassing, but I have found that it is better to laugh about them.

Last week I added another oops to my list. It happened on our first night at a new church. They got to meet the real Odie.

Here is a picture I took before we realized my mistake. Can you spot it?

Moments before church time, I was visiting with Dad and the Pastor. Suddenly Mom goes, "Oh my goodness Odie," and she starts laughing. I was clueless as to what was wrong!

Mom then tells me your undershirt is backward and inside out! I was embarrassed, to say the least. There was no way to cover this mistake; I just had to own it. What better way to start a revival?

Mom quickly pushed my wheelchair to the restroom, and we corrected the problem. This moment gave us something to laugh about! I will always remember my first visit to The Deliverance Center in Maine.

Here is a fact that cracks me up now: The young lady in the picture above saw it. She said she noticed it but did not know how to tell me.

Well, thanks for tuning in today. I hope you can laugh with me about my latest crazy mistake. I am sure there will be more in the future. You can find out about those events right here. Keep coming back for more laughs!

See you next week. I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Odie
