Celebrating America's Birthday 2023

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from the road. The BoggsMobile is on the move. We are traveling toward the northeast portion of our beautiful nation.

We look forward to seeing the fantastic scenery in the miles we will cover on this tour! This is one of our favorite trips. Also, we will see many friends and meet new people along the way. Stay tuned for our updates. Who knows what will happen over the next few weeks?

Monday, I visited the home of our dear friends, Jeff and Debbie Roberts. They invited several family and friends over to celebrate America's birthday.

We had a great time of fun, games, food, fellowship and fireworks! I enjoyed the evening immensely, visiting with friends! Many times I miss gatherings like this one with my church people.

The Roberts Fireworks Show was fantastic! Bro. Jeff, Bro. Nathan Roberts and John Maples did a fantastic job! I was thrilled to see the show. It was the highlight of my holiday this year!

This was a fantastic way to celebrate America's 247th birthday! The kids enjoyed a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to America. Before we realized the evening had slipped away.

Thanks to the Roberts for including me in their party! I appreciate the Stancells for allowing me to catch a ride with them. This is a fun day that I will not forget for a long time!

I will close with my pictures from the evening. Gunner Burris helped me snap some of the photos.

Thanks for visiting with me. See you next week.

A Few Pictures From The Week

This week was mostly spent getting the bus ready to ride and the house and barn ready to leave behind. It does not seem to matter how little time we have been home or how little time we will be gone, there is always more to get done than we can accomplish in the time allotted.😜

Plus, we had a few special occasions to celebrate. Monday was KJo's day all day long.

55 and beautiful!

Odie went with friends to celebrate the 4th of July. She will probably tell you more about that Saturday.

KJo's parents came over for a few minutes one day. We always enjoy that.

While KJo prepared the bus inside this week, I was working on the outside. I shuffled some equipment between the bus and the barn, changed the oil in the generator, diluted three gallons of coolant, worked on the lawn mower and several other odds and ends.

I also wrote, recorded and edited a few videos for A Word For Wednesday. Having those done in advance will help on travel weeks for sure. There are also times when I do not have enough signal to upload a video. Having one preloaded will save the day.

We had planned on leaving early this morning and spending all of today and tomorrow making our way toward New York City. We intended to be there for services Sunday. However, we are waiting on an important package that was supposed to arrive Wednesday. As of Thursday evening, it had not arrived.

If it does not come first thing today (Friday) we will not leave today. I can not make the trip to NYC in one day. I reckon we will wait on the package and leave Sunday or Monday. I need to be in Maine, about 1000 miles, by Thursday.

God has it all in control!

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Little More Information

I already wrote about our wedding anniversary this year, but I have some neat pictures for you today.

My parents celebrated 60 years of marriage in June. In honor of their 60th wedding anniversary, they took a few pictures in front of the house where they married in Waynesville at the corner of Third and Franklin.

Over nine years after they married, they purchased and moved to this house where they still live. I was five years old when we moved there.

Not quite thirteen years after they moved to this location, KJo and I were married in that house. On our anniversary near the end of June, we thought it was fitting for us to snap a picture in front of the house where we married.

Here is a picture of our car on our wedding day in front of the house.

Here we are in the dining room where we cut the cake.

We took this picture on our anniversary at the barn.

On our anniversary last week, Kelly Jo and I ate at Ruby Tuesday and drove around a bit. It was a good day.

It was a great day to conclude another great year with this great lady. I hope you enjoyed the pictures today.

A Word For Wednesday-Giving God Access To Our Lives

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

We are saved by grace and grace alone. Salvation is not of ourselves. We know that or at least we ought to know that. Our part is to believe and Christ will do the rest. Christ will reconcile us to God.

Yet, might there be something we can do that will give God better access to our lives after salvation? I believe the answer is yes. I believe that God has had a clear path to my life, at times, because I opened myself to Him and welcomed God to help Himself to whatever part of me He wanted.

Here I am, Lord, send me! Here I am, Lord, do with me what you will!

Kelly Jo and I made some right decisions early on and a few timely decisions at perilous points along the way. That allowed God access to us when we might have closed Him out otherwise.

I want God to have complete access to me. I want Him to have my will, my mind and my heart.

Thank you for joining us to day on Mile Markers and on YouTube.
