Revival In Pictures - Wartburg, Tennessee

We first met Bro. Herman Woods and Sis. Margaret on the first Saturday in July 1985 in Crossville, Tennessee at Coleman Looper's Gospel Barn. We had traveled there with the Isaacs for a singing and the Easons were singing too.

The Easons consisted of Tommy and Sharon Eason, Mike and Jan Eason and Margaret Woods. Herman was the preacher/bus driver/manager. We had no idea that we were meeting lifelong friends that Saturday night. I can definitely see the fingerprints of God in that "chance" meeting!

Nearly three years later on the second Sunday in June 1988, we traveled to Beechfork Holiness Church for the first time and preached the Homecoming service.

That was almost thirty five years ago and we have preached a multitude of revivals in those years, sometimes two revivals a year. To say we love and appreciate these people would be the understatement of the year.

It was an amazing blessing for us to be at Beechfork again. We loved every moment and we look forward to going back again!

We hope you enjoy the Revival In Pictures!

The Weekend Dispatch 4/17/2023

Today is our Weekend Dispatch. Tomorrow we will have a Revival In Pictures post. Most of the weekend pictures will be published tomorrow, but we have a few for you now.

We began revival on Wednesday and closed revival Sunday afternoon. That eliminated our normal travel day on Saturday and the whole weekend was church. KJo took time for grocery shopping Friday and laundry on Saturday.

We had lunch with Pastor Herman and Sis. Margaret Woods each day and then prepared for church each night. It was a different weekend for us, but not too different.

Speaking of Bro. and Sis. Woods, Sunday was their 57th wedding anniversary. It was wonderful to celebrate with them Sunday after church and at Shoney's. We also celebrated with Bro. Tommy and Sis. Sharon Eason. Their 52nd wedding anniversary is today.

The highlight of the weekend was the Spirit of the Lord helping His people. We are praising God for coming near us and helping us each service. We still love being part of revival.

Another highlight of the weekend was Bro. Jason and Sis. Alicia Eason came to revival and brought their children. We had a super great time visiting with them after church. Evelyn (on the right below) and I discovered our birthdays are only one day apart so we are not conspiring to plan a joint birthday celebration!😍🎂🎊

We also had visits from our long term friends, Danny and Kathy Janson. It is a joy to see them.

That pretty much wraps up our weekend. Thank you for dropping in. Check in tomorrow for lots more pictures.

New Music From The Simpson Family

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting from Tennessee. We are having a great time with our friends at Beechfrork Holiness Church! We love these people so dearly! Pastor Herman and Sis. Margaret Woods have been like family to us for many years, and I cherish any time we can be with them!

I am here today to tell you about some wonderful new music. It would be an excellent addition to your playlist!

This spring, The Simpson Family released a new project. It is titled I Want To Worship You. Order your copy today by visiting their website by clicking here. You can also find it on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music and Pandora.

Sabrina Simpson Prickett and Hope Simpson McCoy are the daughters of Pastor Rick and Sis. Bev Simpson. Sabrina is married to Pastor Jonathan Prickett. They are parents to three beautiful daughters. Hope is married to Evangelist Jacob McCoy. They are parents of three handsome little boys.

Both Sabrina and Hope do a fantastic job working alongside their husbands in ministry! They use their God given talent to work for God every week. It is a treat when I get to hear either of these lovely ladies sing! I am doubly blessed on the rare occasion that I can hear both of them together.

This is the sixth project from the Simpson Family! Each of their projects has been very good. Sabrina and Hope are phenomenal singers! They are constantly improving! I Must Worship You is my favorite one! I will be listening to this project for a long time.

Kailee and Kynzie Prickett made their singing debut on this project. They did a great job. I am so proud of both girls! They have inherited their singing talent from their Mother and Aunt.

Pastor David Webb produced this project. He did an exceptional job on the production side of the project! The Simpson Family told me that they had an excellent working with Bro. Webb in the studio.

This project was recorded at Hilltop Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Bro, Webb lined up a stellar list of musicians for this album! The music is top notch! Bro David Sis. Genell, Abigail and Andrew Webb added some excellent background vocals.

You will enjoy and be blessed by this anointed singing by The Simson Family! Here is another link to their website. Visit The Simpson Family on Youtube by clicking here.

Thanks for reading. See you next time.

A Picture of My Parents

Normally Friday is reserved for Revival In Pictures, but we have only been in revival two nights. We will move Revival In Pictures to early next week and give you a family picture today.

Odie has been keeping you up to date on my Mom's condition as she miraculously heals from a bad fall several weeks ago. I thought this recent picture might be of interest to those that are praying.

This was taken last Sunday at Dodds Church and I think it is a super great picture. I did not ask, but I suppose this was a special area set up for family pictures on Easter.

My Dad will celebrate his 80th Birthday next month and they will celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary in June. I can not adequately describe the blessing it is to have them alive and kicking. Praise God for helping them and keeping them.

As I have mentioned before, my Mom prayed next to our beds every night. I did not know it then, but I know now what an amazing blessing that was and is. Hallelujah!

Dad taught me so many things about life that proved invaluable. I tell KJo all the time, "There has to be an easier way for a lazy man to make a living than what I am doing." But the truth is, I am still too scared to be lazy!😍 I respect my Dad and the way he raised me too much to be lazy.

I have been and still am blessed to have wonderful parents.

Thank you for praying for my parents. It is by His grace they are alive and moving forward. Thank you for reading today as well.

Endurance For The Road Ahead!

The BoggsMobile is in the shop, The Boggs Family is in a hotel in Oak Ridge while we are in revival at Beechfork Holiness Church near Wartburg, Tennessee. The Lord was near us on the first night of revival and we are thankful.

Will you continue to pray for us? We have no complaints. The Lord has been very good to us. However, I am not nearly as strong as I need to be. Three or four days in a row with lots of driving or other activity is enough to prove to me that I need more strength to preach and travel.

I was honestly dragging all day Tuesday and Wednesday, although I had enough energy to preach the first night of revival Wednesday. I know that God is able to heal me completely and we are asking Him to do it.

I will be busy with bus stuff all next week, but I will not be preaching Monday through Friday. Maybe that will help. I would rather preach than deal with bus stuff, but it is part of staying on the road. It must be done.

Thank you for praying for us and for taking the time to drop by each day. May God bless you for your kindness toward us.

A Word For Wednesday - Who Sets The Bar?

So glad you joined us today. It is time again for A Word For Wednesday, A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Who sets the bar we should live up to? Us or God? Jesus said Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48

Popular religious jargon says you can not be perfect. There is no need to try to be perfect. Jesus say be ye therefore perfect. Who is right? I will choose Jesus over a man, a ministry or a movement any day of the week.

Who sets the bar we should live up to? Us or God?

Thank you for stopping by today.
