Odie's Weekly Update 2/17/23

Hey Friends,

Welcome to another view into my week. I have enjoyed another great week at home. I spent my time with family, enjoyed good food, my beautiful home, sunshine and church with my church family.

Have you read the posts from my Dad? He shared posts on both Wednesday and Thursday. I was encouraged by this week's  A Word For Wednesday.

Click this link, A Word For Wednesday, to find the playlist of Dad'sprevious weekly. I just listened to several as I prepared to write today's blog.

While on our YouTube Channel, you can subscribe to Boggs Family Ministries, leave us comments, give us a thumbs up, share the videos with others and turn on your post notifications. Then, most likely, you will be notified when we add new content. We appreciate the support from our friends!

Thursday, Dad gave us an update on a BogggsMobile project. Our home on wheels is 28 years old, and there is always a list of projects waiting for Dad's attention. He does a fabulous job caring for us and the bus!

Now here are some highlights from Odie's week.

Monday, we received a big surprise at the PO Box. When we opened the box, we found some dear friends had blessed us with a "Sunshine Box."

It was a box full of goodies to bring us smiles and sunshine! This was such a thoughtful gift box! May God richly bless our friends for their kindness! The motive behind this gift box was a success!

Lisa and I had lunch at Alcapulco.

The food was scrumptious!

It is always great to see our buddy Jorge! We are thankful for his friendship and concern for our family!

Monday afternoon, we visited Mamaw and Papaw. They are doing good. Mamaw is slowly getting stronger. We pray for continued good reports from every doctor, nurse and therapist.

Mamaw wanted me to express her gratitude for each prayer you have prayed for her! She appreciates your love and concern for her recovery! Thank you to everyone that has checked on her!

Tuesday night, it was time for church at DRPC.

Our Youth Pastor,  Bro. Andrew Blevins, shared the word of God with us. It is great to see God anointing and using Bro. Andrew!

Kiran wanted his church selfie with me.

Kennedy wanted a picture too. I am never going to turn her down. Some services, she will not have anything to do with me.

Wednesday, I made a big pot of soup. I was hoping to share it with others. I get to enjoy not needing to cook for a few days. I am grateful for the leftovers.

My new portable Comiso Bluetooth speaker arrived. I really enjoy this little speaker from Amazon. I can take it anywhere I need to listen to music or podcasts. It is affordable, the sound is good, and the battery life is impressive.

Dad and I both have one for the bus. I wanted another one for my house too. Thanks to an Amazon gift card, I now have one at home too!

We had a day of excellent spring weather. The wind was strong, but the sunshine and warmth felt fabulous for a February day!

I enjoyed spending a couple hours in the afternoon on my side porch.

Thursday was a completely different type of day! It was cool and raining for most of the day.

This was a quick shot out my front door during a small break in the rain.

I was extra thankful for my Beach Cottage yesterday! I was tucked safely inside.

I saw this photo hanging above my desk. I wish that I could see this beauty in person. As I felt the heat of my furnace on my toes, instead of sun and sand, I am thankful for my warm Ohio Beach Cottage!

That wraps up the events of my week. Thanks for reading!

Running Water!

Odie has been doing a great job on Mile Markers while I have been recuperating. I appreciate her faithfulness the last two weeks and in the days to come. Thank you, Odie!

Running Water
In most households in the USA, we take running water for granted. To have running water in an RV at all times takes some planning and some work.
1995/96 Prevost XL Vantare' Conversion
The BoggsMobile turned 28 years old a few days ago. Like any old house, there are always things to be done, especially when the old house has bounced down the road for over 400,000 miles!😎

In December I mentioned to you that we were having trouble with the water pump that provides fresh water to the inside of the bus for drinking, bathing and flushing. When hooked up to a water spigot with a hose, there is no pump needed. But when we are using water from our fresh water tank, a 12 volt pump is needed.

The BoggsMobile was equipped with two pumps when we bought it. We never need two pumps, but evidently, the second one was a backup. They are both hidden behind the water manifold and the water lines and the pumps are difficult to work on or replace.

The #1 pump is circled in white below and the #2 pump is circled in blue.

During the first couple years of bus ownership, I messed with the cheap pumps that were there repeatedly. They never gave us trouble on beautiful days. It was always raining, snowing or 10 degrees or 95 degrees.

Several years ago I removed the manifold completely and replaced both pumps with Flojet 5 gallon per minute pumps. These pumps are variable speed and much quieter and better quality than the cheap pumps we had always used.

We would alternate usage of the two pumps and when the first one quit we used the other one. The one that quit was the more difficult to replace so we put it off until a better day.

Last May while we were in Vonore, Tennessee the second pump completely quit. I went to Camping World near Knoxville and purchased a pump. Unfortunately, to save over $100, I did not buy the good Flojet model. I bought the pump Camping World was actively pushing, a Remco 55AQUAJET-ARV.

Jeff Rowe installed it. He was able to install it in the lower position without moving all of the water lines.

The new pump worked fine from May until December. It still pumps water but the pressure switch has gone bad and it will not shut off when you close the faucet.

In December I began looking for a way to install a new pump in a better place. There were three water filters to the left of the pumps that we have never used. I figured out how to remove them and that freed up some space. You can see the filters in the picture below. They are outlined in red.

I removed the filters and while we were in Texas, I put some vinyl boards in place so I would have a secure place to fasten the new pump.

Here is the new Flojet pump mounted in place in Texas.

For my own information, the model number has been revised on the new pump.

Incidentally, I found the Flojet on sale and saved the original $100. The Remco is under warranty so I will either get money or another pump when I take it back.

This week I had enough strength and a day of good weather. KJo and I wired it up, ran the plumbing and it is working fine.

We were able to remove both the old pumps and their plumbing. For now, we will go with only one pump. Since it is out in the open, replacement with the same pump will not be as difficult.

Owning any kind of RV is as fun as a barrel of monkeys. Owning a 28 year old bus is a completely higher level of fun.😍😂

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Word For Wednesday, The Blessings of Cloudy Days

It is time again for A Word For Wednesday. This morning, I am posting A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Overcast days will come into every life. With the clouds comes doubt, despair and even depression. But we must realize there may be blessings in cloudy days.

I was reminded of a song that used to minister to me and lift me thirty years ago. It may seem depressing at first, but it was remarkably accurate in what I was experiencing.   -You turn to face the morning -You can feel the rain -Before you even look outside -Through a cloudy windowpane -You're reminded of the grey -You feel inside -You cry, "God, I can't go on -Will time ever heal the wounds -I feel I can't hold on another day   When I first heard that I thought the songwriter was looking right
into my soul. Then comes the encouragement -When a mountain of sorrow -Leaves a river of heartache -In a valley of darkness -That you don't understand -Take the high road to Heaven -At the crossroad of Calvary -To the refuge of Jesus -Lay it all in His hands -And let it go

The song is Mountain of Sorrow written by Jim Chapman and Tony Elenburg and sung by Heirloom.

Anyone understand that song?
Do you feel the rain before you even look outside?
Through a cloudy windowpane, you’re reminded of the gray you feel inside.

There is a purpose for the gray.
There are blessings in the cloudy days.

Thank you for reading today.

Celebrating Our Friend Drew

Hey Friends,

This is Odie writing today. Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you have a fantastic day! Thanks for spending a moment of your time with me.

I have loved spending time with my grandparents on my visit home. Papaw and I have fun asking Google to tell us jokes. Yesterday Google told us a joke for Valentine's Day. It made me laugh! I decided to share it with you.

Joke Time
Q: Why was the fly nervous at the fruit market?
A: It was on a date. 🥁

Celebrating Drew
I wrote a post two years ago introducing you to one of our favorite friends, Bro. Drew Spencer. We can click here to read more about him.

Earlier this month, he had a birthday. My "Drew Man" is now 15! I chose to give him a blog shout out today to celebrate his birthday month.

I can not believe he is growing up. Where did the time go in just the blink of an eye? Now he is in high school. From the time he was born, he has held a very special place in our hearts!

It has been a blessing to watch him grow up! God has allowed him to overcome many obstacles that life has placed in his path. Now he is a fine young man that loves God with all of his heart!

Drew is a superhero in my book! I love his smile, determination and kind heart! It is a privilege to be on the friend list of, Drew Spencer!

My parents were able to see our dear buddy last summer. I missed getting to be with him! Mom supplied me with these pictures for this post.

Drew Man,
We love you so much! Thank you for being a bright spot in our lives! I hope you have a fabulous year! I am looking forward to seeing what God has planned for you! We will always be Team Drew! Hopefully, we can see you again somewhere down the road!

Well, I will close for now. Thanks for reading. See you later!

Odie's Weekend Dispatch 2/13/23

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Ohio. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had a fabulous weekend that I will remember for a long time. It consisted of good food, family, friends, great music, laughter, and an amazing Sunday at church.

Friday evening consisted of family time at Mamaw and Papaw's.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed or my grandparents. Mamaw has made good progress on her recovery from the fall. She still has many steps ahead of her. Please keep praying for her! I know she is thankful for every prayer!

Papaw is a devoted caregiver!

Lisa is always a big help! She is willing to do anything she can when needed. I appreciate the rides she gives me so I can visit with Mamaw and Papaw.

Saturday afternoon, I journeyed to Hillsboro, Ohio, with some of my family. We stopped at Ponderosa for a delicious dinner!

Our main reason for being in Hillsboro that day was a Jason Crabb concert.

We had a superb night of fun and music. I will have more about the concert on Saturday.

Sunday morning's service at Dryden Road Pentecostal was God ordained.

The Lord showed up in Sunday school class, which turned into an amazing altar service. I will be rejoicing in the help I received for a while!

Some of my little church buddies wanted to be in pictures. I love it when they come asking me for selfies and pictures.

It was Skyline time for dinner Sunday afternoon! I was one happy girl.

Sunday night, it was time for church again.

Our pastor preached a wonderful message! He reminded us to Tell It To Jesus.

That concludes this Weekend's Dispatch from Odie. Thanks for reading!

Sunday Morning Sanity 2/12/2023

Sunday Morning Sanity
Faith is about what WILL happen.
Faith is expectation.
To have faith is to wait on God, to actively look for His intervention, and to regard His work as about to happen.  Sent by Bro. David Noe

I hope you have a super great Sunday.

One Prayer Away

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie writing today. Thanks for dropping by for my Saturday post. It is a joy to have each of you here for a moment. I hope you are doing well!

I am writing to you with a nugget of encouragement that has been encouraging me lately. I hope it helps you too.

A couple weeks into this year, I had several things heavy on my heart. I had been taking them multiple times a day to God in prayer. Yet, answers to those prayers were not visible.

I chose to keep praying and believing. I knew God was in control of all things! Early one morning, I woke up with everything weighing me down. The questions and fears were endless.

I feel like God dropped a little phrase in my mind to give me the boost I needed. That phrase was, "one prayer away." I had the push I needed to keep praying for the answers!

In every aspect of life and any need we have, the answer to our prayers may be one prayer away. My heart hurts to think I could give up praying one prayer short of a miracle.

I have been clinging to this thought for many days! I have utilized my ability to bring my petitions before God in prayer! God is still answering prayer in 2023. I have already heard many testimonies this year!

Friend, your answered prayer could be just one prayer away! Keep praying for your lost family member, healing, or whatever is close to your heart! I believe with my whole heart God is working!

Thanks for reading. I will leave with a great scripture from the word of God that has been speaking to me. It is found in Luke 18:27.

And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

Hey, Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Ohio. I hope you have had a good week. My week at home has been fantastic. I enjoyed being in my house, family time, church, and more of the same activities.

I did not pull out the camera a lot. I was just living in the moment and enjoying it. Below I have the handful of pictures I did snap this week.

Bro. Jacob Bishop preached Tuesday night at Dryden Road.

Seeing my Uncle Steve a couple of times this week made me happy! I love him so much!

Monday, he surprised us by driving in from Kansas. He came to visit my grandparents. I was blessed to get in on his visit too. I took this picture right before he left yesterday.
