A Week of Pictures

First of all, let's give a big round of applause to Odie for taking good care of the blog in my absence. She did a great job and posted some wonderful content. Thank you, Odie! You did super great!

I am having trouble with my laptop and it looks like it will be a few more days before I have a chance to sort it out. It is likely I will be depending on Odie for help. I am sure she can handle it.

For my first post back, I will ease into this thing by posting some pictures from our first week in Ohio.

KJo and I pulled the BoggsMobile into the barn Sunday just before noon. Within an hour we were at Acapulco eating with my parents. We may have been back a time or two since then

We also went to Frisch's with them one evening.

And of course, KJo has prepared a few tacos.

Odie shared pictures of our Sunday night at Dryden, but I have few pictures of our visit to Hillsboro for church Wednesday. We wanted to see the newly remodeled church building for ourselves. It looks awesome and I enjoyed preaching too!

Odie had company for a while Thursday and we got to be in on that too.

That wraps up our week. We will have more exciting times to come. Thank you for stopping in.

Christmas Wreath Party Fun 2022

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking with you. Did you see yesterday's post? It went up late due to technical difficulties. Make sure you check the post out here

Dad had an excellent Christmas themed A Word For Wednesday. Also, check out our Youtube channel here. Subscribe and turn on your Youtube post notifications so you never miss a video.

Christmas Wreath Party Fun 2022
For today's post, we are rewinding several days. At the end of November, I went to a lady's Christmas party. This was a party for the ladies of Dodds Church. My Mamaw, Martha Boggs, and Aunt Theresa Osborn invited me to join them on a Monday night for a wreath making party.

I was excited to join them for this event again. We made Christmas wreaths last year too. It is so much fun! I am not a crafty person, but with some help, I can make a pretty wreath.

All of this Christmas fun is made possible by Purkey Landscaping. Kristy Purkey and Tammy Smith host the parties. They have all the supplies set up and ready to make the wreaths. Also, they are there throughout the process, giving guidance and help when needed.

Here are a few pictures that I captured during the fun evening.

This is the group of ladies that participated in the 2022 Dodds party. I think all the wreaths turned out great. The party was a fun way to start off the Christmas Season.

My wreath brightens up my front porch for the season. Tammy Smith says she enjoys driving by my house and seeing my wreath on the red door.

If you live in the local area, Purkey landscaping host different seasonal events. Below is a little bit more information. You can also find out all the information by finding Purkey Landscaping on Facebook.

Thanks for visiting with me.

A Word For Wednesday A Thoughtful Christmas

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in for my Dad.  Sorry for the delayed post. Dad's blog did not post correctly today. I can not find it quickly in the draft form to post it for him.

It is time for A Word For Wednesday. This one is titled A Thoughtful Christmas.

Here are the words my Dad wrote in the video description. "In the Luke chapter 2 Christmas story, there is a verse that stands out to me. It is verse 19. The description of the action stops and we read this.

19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
It seems to me that the first Christmas was a thoughtful Christmas.
We could probably use a good dose of that this Christmas."

Thanks for reading.

The Valley Haven Christmas Play at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church 12/3/22

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in for Tuesday's post. I hope you are having a good week. Yesterday I shared pictures from our church Christmas dinner and a few pictures from the Christmas play. Check out that Weekend Dispatch here.

A Christmas play has been a big part of the Christmas season at Dryden Road for many years. I enjoyed being in several plays when I was a young girl.

It has been a while since I could even attend a Christmas play. I was excited to be home this year!

This year the play was directed by Bro. Bryan Hisle. Fun fact: my Dad played a part in a Christmas play directed by Bro. Bryan nearly 40 years ago.

The cast worked hard for months to prepare for this big night. Everyone involved did a fantastic job! I am so proud of all of them.

Now it is time for the 2022 Christmas play in pictures. The title was The Valley Haven Christmas Show.

Click on the picture below to enlarge it. Then you can see a complete list of the cast members.

The stage set up for the play.

Time to begin.

This character was Ethel. She was a disgruntled old lady. In the end, she heard the story of Christmas and was saved. Her friends, family and people from church helped her realize her need for a Savior. Ethel called upon the Lord and repented. She was then a changed person!

Bro. Philip Hoskins presented the Gospel at the end.

The director, Bro. Bryan Hisle

Pastor Bennie Sutherland greeted the congregation.

Here are some pictures of some of my friends before and after the play.

Thanks for stopping by to visit with me today. I hope you enjoyed a glimpse of this year's Christmas play at Dryden Road.
