The Weekend Dispatch 3/27/22

I need to go all the way back to Wednesday for The Weekend Dispatch. The last night of revival was canceled at Beacon of Hope. Sis. Sly from Bible Holiness in Elkton passed away early Wednesday morning. Sis. Gwen May, the Pastor's wife at Beacon of Hope, is Sis. Sly's daughter.

Pastor Tony Doval from Landmark Tabernacle called mid morning on Wednesday and asked us to minister at Landmark. We were very glad to accept the invitation. We had a great time getting reacquainted with his people and we enjoyed the presence of the Lord. We appreciate their kindness very much.

Odie snapped a few pictures.

I am supposed to rest on Thursdays and Fridays when possible and that is exactly what I did Thursday. I slipped over to the church and recorded a video for this week, but I did nothing else productive all day long.

Friday the girls went to the laundry and I cleaned the plumbing bay and the floor of the generator hush box. I have been working on the generator for the last two weeks and cleaning the tray was the final touch. I will write about that later.

That is about all that we did during the day Friday.

Friday evening we drove about 45 minutes to visit a few minutes with our friends from Bible Holiness and especially the Sly family at Sis. Sly's Visitation. Bro. and Sis. Sly have been faithful for many, many years. Sis. Sly is already greatly missed.

We have a few food pictures from the end of the week.

Saturday morning we disconnected the utilities, cranked the bus and eased out of the parking lot at Beacon of Hope. Although we were ultimately going north, we went south a few miles to the new Love's in Greenville, to do the work of the evangelist. When that was finished, we hooked up the jeep and turned north.

We had about 40 miles of interstate and then about 75 miles on 259, 29 and 50. I had researched two major routes from I-81 to Romney and this one was not bad. It was mostly two lane roads with very few shoulders and lots of curves. There were no serious mountains to climb. I took it easy and threaded our way through for about 130 miles total in about 3.5 hours.

We did run through a patch of snow. Yep, snow on March 26.

Fifteen minutes later and we were driving in sunshine.

Going back to Virginia in about 10 days I may try 50 all the way to I-81 at Winchester, Virginia. It looks good from what I can see although it is longer. It may be as good as Saturday's route or even better. Only one way to find out.

Pastor Bob Jeffreys met us and helped us get parked and set up. He also helped us get the sound equipment carried and assembled along with his son Joel and grandson Zachary. It sure was great to see our friends again.

Wow! What an amazing Sunday! Hallelujah!

That is all folks! Thank you for tuning in.

Meet Saylor Brooke Walters

Hey Friends,

Welcome to another Saturday post from Odie. I am thrilled to have you spending a moment of your weekend with me. I hope you are doing well!

I am doing great. We had a wonderful week with our friends at Beacon of Hope Holiness Church in Staunton, Virginia. The Lord blessed us during revival with His sweet presence!

Today we are on our way to Romney, West Virginia, preparing for revival to begin tomorrow. We are looking forward to our time at Safe Haven Tabernacle with Pastor Bob Jefferys!

Meet Saylor Brooke Walters
We had an extraordinary friend born in November. She has made a few cameo appearances on the blog, but she has not been officially introduced to all our friends yet. Today is the time for all that to change.

Who am I am talking about, you ask? It is the princess of Richton, Mississippi, Miss Saylor Brooke Walters. Saylor Brooke is the daughter of my friends Brandon and Regan Morris Walters. God blessed them with a gorgeous baby girl! I am so happy for them!

Here are a few pictures from my archives. These were taken about a month before Saylor was born. These were her first blog appearances. LOL

Miss Saylor was due to arrive around the beginning of December. She decided to show everybody who was boss. Saylor Brooke changed the world with her birth on November 4th.

Her early arrival was a surprise, but she was ready to meet everyone. I know she quickly melted my heart just through pictures and videos. Below are a few pictures from her first month or so of life. Thanks to Regan for allowing me to use these pictures today.

How can something be so precious? I was extremely anxious to meet Saylor Brooke in real life! I checked on plane tickets to Mississippi several times, but I knew we were supposed to be there soon.

The actual meeting came as a surprise to us. We met up with Saylor’s grandparents, Bro. Scott and Sis. Kim Morris, for lunch in February. When they arrived at the restaurant, they had “something to show us.” Miss Saylor was in the backseat of their car.

I was overjoyed that Regan allowed them to bring the princess to lunch! I was all types of excited to meet Miss Saylor! I informed her we are buddies for life. She does not get a choice in the matter! 😁

Here are a couple pictures from earlier this month. This was the first time we were in a church service with Saylor.

We took a moment to have a good conversation. Saylor Brooke had her first tiny scooter ride with Auntie O. I am looking forward to the next time I get to see Saylor Brooke! I plan on doing my part of loving and spoiling her along the way.

Saylor Brooke Walters is a blessing from God! She has brought so much joy to her family already in just a short time. I am thrilled to watch her grow up and pray she has a deep love for God!

Regan, Brandon and Saylor, I love you all so much! Thank you for being my dear friends!

Thank you for reading! See you next time.
